You really should not wait for Nigeria to dissolve.  If you truly and sincerely believe in your claim. . . . then go ahead and cut Yoruba off the oil.   If you cannot, then you are an impotent warrior.

Oh, newsflash!!   Ijaw taking over navy is to your detriment in SE.  They will blocakde you from Port Harcourt and sea ports in your region.  Gej is tired of your land grab and claim that Pharcourt is ibo land.  He wants to secure it and destroy your access permanently.  Keep rejoicing in that development.

We Yorubas are not interested in their resources we are not like the leeches called Igbo

We wont claim Edo because their former governor is called Oyegun or they bear names like Aiyegbeni

We wont claim Itsekiri because they bear Omasola or Omawumi

The formation of gullies has become one of the greatest environmental disasters facing many towns and villages in southeastern Nigeria. This region is fast becoming hazardous for human habitation. Three months ago Southeast governors demanded the imposition of a state of emergency as a necessary step towards checking the erosion menace in the region.

Hundreds of people are directly affected every year within towns and villages and have to be re-located, and yet the rate of increase in gully erosion has continued unabated with no suitable solution.

The economic cost of gully erosion in southeastern Nigeria is devastating. Gully erosions lead to great losses of land every year. Large sections of land have been destroyed in recent years in towns such as Ekwulobia and Nanka. In addition, highways are ruined due to gullies, leading to numerous vehicle accidents and deaths

Floods in the southwest Nigerian city of Ibadan have killed at least 102 people over the weekend, with bodies still being recovered from the scene, the Nigeria Red Cross said.

More corpses were recovered from affected areas on Monday and the Red Cross said the final figure of deaths could  rise.

"the death toll for now, is 102," said Umar Mairiga, disaster management coordinator for the Nigerian Red Cross Society.

About 2,000 people have been displaced by the floods in the city, which lies about 120km north of the commercial capital Lagos, the official added.

In Lagos itself, an ocean surge has left more than 1,000 residents in the Alpha beach area homeless.

Strong tides from the Atlantic ocean have destroyed property and shops along the beach, which is normally a tourist attraction but is now littered with debris and wreckage.

Moshood Alayaki, a resident, said the rising water had destroyed many livehoods.

The area regularly experiences seasonal flash floods, which are sometimes lethal in Nigeria's overcrowded slums.

"All of our properties are damaged. We have a shop there we are selling drinks, we have a lot of customers," he said.

"Look at our road, everything is spoilt. Since I was born, I don't have any idea that the water will spoil like this."

Aworis Youth Mandate under the able leadership of Adekunle bola has asked that all yoruba of non- aworis extraction leeching on their development and resources should start preparing to vacant the state.

he explained that yorubas come to lagos to feast on their resources, contributing absolutely nothing in return.

an Ekiti from his jungle village will come to Lagos to drag jobs for locals like security and vigilante, so it time to tell them all who are the real owners of Lagos.

once the permission is sanction there will be a exodus, so it is better they start packing before the time reaches. as the say " a stitch in time saves nine."

This is 21st century, NO TIME FOR PARASITISM !

even the abokis are contributing more than these yorubas, Awori people shall not stand and watch her resources pillaged and ravaged by these ingrates and rascals.

he went on to explain that most crimes in the state are perpetuated by neighboring states especially Ogun people and ijebus.

No other group in the neighboring area suffer this problem.  The ibibio and efik land, the ijaw land, the tivi kand,  even in camerron their eastern neighbor dont have this erosion problem.  it is localized to just the ibo territory.  what does that say about this people?  They are cursed!  Centuries of practicing euthanisia on deformed babies born in their society and discrimination of osu is claiming karma on them and their land.

when we start sending you back to your cursed land many of you will be intimidated by the thought of going back home to discrimination and backwardness and will change your name and loyalty and convert to become Yoruba. dayo, these fools hear awori and they think awori is like saying ibibio or efik or ijaw. They dont understand that Awori itself is a Yoruba tongue . . . .they dont understand that Onikoyi is Awori, Odofin is Awori, they dont understand that Araba is awori. They are clueless about awori, they hear name and they use the ibo clannish mentality to disparage awori the way they would do to efik or ijaw. When Ogboni speak for Awori he speak for Oyo, speak for Egba, speak for Ijesha. No Ijebu will question the presence of Awori in Ijebuland, no Oyo will question the presence of Ife in Ibadan, no Awori will question the presence of Ogbomosho in Lagos, . . . . but we all question the presence of Ibo in Yorubaland. Thats the bottom line! Efik question the presence of ibo in his homeland. Ijaw question the presence of ibo on his land. Tiv question the presence of Ibo on his land. Cameroon question the presence of ibo in his land., Hausa question the presence of ibo on his land. Dont you have shame, ibo man?

Soil erosion problems at the headwater of Ala watershed south west nigeria which drains a rural community north of akure, southwestern Nigeria, was investigated. The watershed was listed as one of the focal points of UNDP`s programme on Sustainable Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development in Nigeria. Baseline survey of the watershed reveals that the following environmental factors contributed to the observed erosion problems: Long, gentle to relatively steep slopes; low infiltration capacity; heavy and prolonged rainfall; highly erodible soils; inadequate and blocked storm drains and unplanned land use types. Indicators of soil erosion identified in the area also include: Detrital materials and coarse sand deposits; bare unvegitated surfaces devoid of top soil; stone capping of soil pedestals; exposed building foundations. These factors and indicators have combined to produce rapidly incising gully systems along some long slopes. At some midslopes and southern basal positions currently being opened-up for various developments, small and few storm drains have promoted sheet erosion and street floods that often inadequate built-up areas. On the basis of baseline data collected, good management practices and strategies for soil erosion control and conversation that also fosters social awareness on the problems were suggested with the hope that they will help restore the degrading land to a more productive

hell about to happen in southwest

http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/07/19/nigeria-danger-looms-in-lekki/

In the next three months, thousands of houses and residents abutting the Alpha Beach in Lekki area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria will be sacked by coastal erosion by the ocean, warns the Lagos State Government.

Already, in the last two weeks, the 20 metres of coastline has been lost to the ocean as the water from the sea is less than 70 metres away from residential area and several shanties abutting the ocean.

Commissioner for Waterfront Development and Infrastructure, Prince Segun Oniru disclosed this on Monday when a team from the Federal Government came to inspect the level of damage caused by the recent flood in Lagos and submit its finding to President Goodluck Jonathan.

The team was led by the Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, while the Permanent Secretary, Ecological Funds in the Office of the Presidency, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote was also in the team. The team inspected the Mayegun Beach where several shipwrecks are causing coastal erosion in the area and the Alpha Beach faced with the same problem of coastal erosion.

According to Oniru, who spoke at the Alpha Beach, residents in the area were in grave danger as the water from the ocean is fast approaching residential area and called on the Federal Government to do something urgent to safeguard the lives of people and properties.

He said the only urgent solution to halt the coastal erosion was for the Federal Government to reclaim the lost area to the beach by creating an embankment like it was done to the Bar Beach to prevent it from eroding the Ahmadu Bello Way.

“I cannot say how much it will cost to solve the problem of the beach but the Federal Government still needs to come to inspect the area to find solution to it.

“You can’t fight nature but you can only appease it. We need to push back the water and protect the beach from eroding. If nothing is done, in the next three to six months, everything you see here (houses and people) won’t be here anymore. In the last two weeks, we have lost 20 metres of the coastline to the ocean. What we are witnessing at the beach is natural erosion and a consequence of the rise in water level which is a result of global warming,” he stated.

He said the Alpha Beach which had been severely eroded and had damaged the roads needed urgent attention to save the impending danger.

Also speaking, Aganga said the Federal Government would surely come to the aid of Lagos, saying that the state government had already compiled what it needed, which he said would be forwarded to the president for action.

“We have heard that 20 metres of coastline had already been lost to the ocean in the last two weeks and that if we don’t do something about it, the people you see behind you here won’t be here anymore. We are here to assess the situation,” he said.

Earlier, the team inspected flooded areas, including Oko-Oba canal in Agege; Aboru canal in Alimosho; Arigbanla drainage channel in Agege as well as Elere drainage channel at Pen Cinema.
