Can you show us Euro 2012 stats that compare Mario Mandzukic to RvP and Benzema and lets see who is the better striker
Na there puff puff go turn to croissant grin
Re: Euro 2012 All-Action Thread by mbulela: 7:43am On Jun 27, 2012
"The most damming statistic of them all was that one which showed our best passing combination was between Joe Hart and Andy Carroll. That would have been bad enough if Carroll had played the whole game but it's even worse when you realise he came on as sub after an hour. We are better than that – nobody can be proud of that stat."

mandzukic is the better striker....isn't it obvious?

mandzukic
3 apps, 3 goals, 1.7 shots/game, 62.1% pass completion, 2 aerial duels won/game,
0.7 key passes/game, 2 was fouled/game, was dispossessed 1.7/game, etc!

What a load of tosh this is

First of all who is tipping Italy to win?.......As far as I know the Azzuri are third favourite if not fourth Favourite to win the tourney. So I ask again who is saying all this things? All i've heard all week long from pundits and writers is how ordinary and average this Italian side is.

Go and read the previous pages preceeding this. Someone clearly stated another Spain vs Italy game and tipped the Azzuris to win.

chic2pimp:

Barely made past Croatia? Did you watch th match at all. They tie shoulda ended in the first half had the boyz been more clinical in front of goal. Fair dues to Croatians though they came back strongly in the second half(partly due to the Prandelli's tactic of trying to defend the lead). Mind you there is nothing wrong drawing with the unlucky Croatian side who not only would have topped any of the other two groups but also gave spain probably the sternest test they'll face in this competition.

Molested by spain in the 2nd half yet still created gilt edged opportunities. Are u half asleep or sedated when u watch Italian matches?....Or is it just pure Jealousy?

I did watch the game. Just like i watched the Holland vs Denmark game. So when did creating chances and not converting them turn into a plus for a team. Its just like saying CR7 made a record by taking 55 Shots on target with only one going in. This should be the load of tosh!

So overall you saw Italy create gilt edged oppurtunities against spain in the second half. . .and you ask me if i watch their games sedated?

I have no reason to be jealous about Italys success, i just expressed my opinion how i saw it. Ofcourse drawing two games and winning on penalties would be better for them but then i ask you what are the odds of achieving that now looking at the caliber of teams left and by that i mean (Spain and Germany)? I dont think they exist.

Negredo has to come off.......Torres has to come on

No movement whatsoever......Dude has been more of a minus than a plus.

Bento has got his tactic spot on and while VDB hasn't.
Re: Euro 2012 All-Action Thread by AjanleKoko: 9:02pm On Jun 27, 2012
^^
Fabregas comes on instead.

Which is also not bad. If the game continues deadlocked, Silva can come off for Torres, and the extra man in the middle is still available.
Would be good to bring Torres on in the last quarter, when the Portuguese get weary. But they may grab a goal, if they can just move the ball forward quicker, maybe Ronaldo can get something going for them.

Spoke too soon. Silva is off for Navas. Croatia formation again.
You get the feeling Del Bosque is just throwing men on at random undecided
Re: Euro 2012 All-Action Thread by AjanleKoko: 9:16pm On Jun 27, 2012
Portugal look curiously like Real Madrid here, while Spain are playing like Barca.
Re: Euro 2012 All-Action Thread by coogar: 9:19pm On Jun 27, 2012
i expect spain to deliver the killer blow after the 80th min.
they often quicken the pace then....

And to those who believe Xavi has never had a poor game.
This is one game where he was average

And we dont need any silly OPTA stat to show what we can all see

Xavi actually slowed things for Spain in the middle.
And this game has made me respect Fabio Concentrao. He's a very good defender, and he's not even tall.
Arbeloa is actually quite shyte, I have to say.

Tough game, played with intensity, but the players have kept things very civil indeed.
Whoever wins should be a worthy finalist.

Nobody said Xavi has never had a poor game. He hardly ever has bad games is what was said.

MEANWHILE........

All credit to Portugal and most especially their coach Bento

No matter what happens from here on the Portugese have given a good account of themselves.

coogar: xavi hernandez is by far a better midfielder than zidane.
he's the best midfielder in the history of football association.
i have never seen an off-form xavi. he's either injured or he
gives 100%...what a player!!!

coogar: ....i am yet to
see a midfield battle xavi has not dominated.
the opposing team might
go on and win a la chelsea but the win wouldn't be as a result of xavi
getting dominated.

coogar: i'd be surprised if ronaldo and nani touch the ball more than 12 times when they meet.
y'all are about to witness the power of tiki-taka.

You are slow, How can you be reporting a new 20mins after it was reported on this same thread. Are you 1025 in disguise?

xavi average in a game he has been taken off? xavi average because negredo
was shyte upfront? you need to bring your common sense on these pages to
discuss football. xavi was excellent throughout he was on the pitch....

spain don't play with pace....anyone expecting them to run full throttle
does not understand tiki-taka. the aim is to control the ball so they
can control the game. tiki-taka is about controlling...

Xavi was average that was why he was taken off, Or you take out a player like Xavi if he was excellent with the game still in the balance?

you're a troglodyte....
xavi was taken off because he's tired. scholes would not play
120 mins too whether he's played well or not.

xavi had 97% pass completion in this same game you said
he was average. xavi is 32....he does not have the legs
any more to go full throttle! 97% pass completion is
bossing the game.
Re: Euro 2012 All-Action Thread by AjanleKoko: 10:13pm On Jun 27, 2012
Pedro running them ragged, but making poor decisions with his final ball.
Spain really cranking it up in the final seconds, but this looks like it's going to be spot-kicks.

they left it too late but the quality in the last 15 mins has been world class....what we love to see.
if spain go out here, not having a proper forward would be their undoing.
they miss david villa...

Pirlo is how old when he played 120mins 3days ago?? No one takes off their best player if he is playing well,

any player who has completed 97% of his passes, made 3 key passes, etc

Why do teams leave their best player to take their last penalty?

I cant understand. Several times it never gets to them
