I think Jose would likely deploy the old famous Scholes' obsessed 4-4-2 tactic which is a recipe for disaster because first and foremost, we don't have a controlling midfielder in the centre nor is Mikhi/Martial touchline wingers. Both are at their best in a fluid system that allows them to roam, interchange and link up play.
Secondly, having a combo of 2 immobile sluggish Ibra and Rooney is asking for problem. He seems to forget that Ibra is also a 9.5 and not your typical no 9. I hope Mourinho knows what he's doing.

All that is needed for the raging war to go on is for either England/English clubs or Germany/German clubs to perform badly, and the usual suspects - you, A40, Pataki and Airmark are back at each other's throat. Pogba and Matuidi would both be quality additions, my grouse with the Pogba deal is the transfer fee being bandied around. No midfielder is worth more than 60m unless you are going to be the next Zidane and I am not sure about Pogba's motivations and focus.

We need to add 2 central midfielders to the team preferably 1 that is more CDM/holding and one that is more box2box. The major question in that midfield is Schneiderlin, is he box2box or holding and is he really good enuf.

Mourinho was spot on. Rooney can only pass well when he's not being pressed. Even at those times, it's inconsistent with other basic things like first touch which Rooney never mastered completely even as a professional footballer. He can never be a good midfielder.

At best Mourinho would use him as a 10 or 9. It's not looking good for Rooney.
