don't cry over zidane - xavi & iniesta are 1000 times better than zidane. only football illiterates overrate zidane. there's nothing he won that the barca stalwarts haven't won plus more....
there he goes again!! He wld soon say pedro is a better footballer compared to robben, since d former has won more trophies, and is more decorated!! Are u naturally this foolish, or is it dt u make special efforts to appear as id.otic as this?? I wanna believe d former is d case.......daft.ness by default is a common feature of mentally challenged misfits like u who expects a frank lampard who we all knw to be a central midfielda, to be more creative than oscar, hazard and mata! Abeg, make all of una just briefly check d jargons cooger has been spamming d chelsea thread with, and y'all knw he needs prayers grin grin

SailorXY: Nani is a better attacker/winger than Valencia. Homeboi just gat British weather syndrome #end of
I still think Young is the worst grin

Valencia is more result oriented than Nani. Nani spends so much time on his own while in the process alienating team play from his game. He also does not offer any help to the central midfielders and defenders. Valencia has by far the more dangerous and matured winger.

Do you think Januzaj is the best option for the No. 10 role @ Man United on current standings?
Yes or No

No.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 12:13am On Nov 05, 2013
itz_suave: BIG NO!! He's way better n more effective on d flanks
but there's no way you can land on such conclusions without trying it out.
I read somewhere Moyes said Januzaj is a big candidate for the No. 10 role soon, he may have been doing great there in training sections

He may be thriving here cuz we still play a flat midfield where 'wingers' do a 100m-dash to the by-line, then cross into the box.
In the evolved/modern 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-3-like attcking format, I don't see how he can displace Nani except he plays the wing back position

Again, some people lay too much emphasis on what goes on in training grounds.
Moyes was talkin abt d future.
Even waren joyce- reserve coach of last year. Dunno if he is still der said his best position was number 9.

I've known him for a while now. And I've watched different clips of him playing for d reserves.

I particularly took interest in him n matts daelhi (I hope we buy that guy back)

Blive me when I say he will deliver more as a winger.

He is tricky, bold n direct wit some pace 2 burn.

Besides
wit dis current united side's wing deficiency n the rooney-kagawa conundrum. I don't think he should be played der

I believe Januzaj will develop into a world class no10, however that time is not now.
We have Rooney and Kagawa jostling for position in the middle right now and Adnan has been excelling on the wings.
So FOR NOW he is our best winger

Only based on POTENTIAL...but on a WORK DOING / DONE basis, Nani will warm bench for Anthony Valencia anywhere on this planet - except in Portugal!

They both have varied approaches to the game. Valencia's style favor a flat 4-4-2 where he is expected to hug the touch lines & get some chalk stains on his boots, so many coaches don't set up their team that way these days.
The last UCL winning team had a fluid front three of Rooney (left) Tevez (centre) Ronaldo (right) with stead interchange throughout 90 min cuz all 3 players had the right amount of dynamism to play from Right Centre Left!
Now assume there was a need for a sub without change of tactics, how could Valencia have been fancied ahead of Nani with such game plans? A Park-like player will be considered for that front three ahead of a Valencia-esqe player

He moved more centrally in the midfield against Fulham for the second half after Kagawa was sent out left & I think he still covered himself in partial glory

The table is a statistical measure of which areas of the pitch teams have attacked this year:
Manchester United have based less of a percentage of their attacks
through the centre of the pitch than any other team, 25 per cent,
with Swansea City topping the list (36 per cent).
Conversely this means the Red Devils have been busy on the flanks,
basing 33 per cent of their attacks down the left side (12th highest)
and 42 per cent of their play down the right side of the pitch(fourth highest).
There is one problem with this however; and this is key, United have
not been enjoying a great deal of success with their attacks in wide
areas as previous seasons, with players like Nani, Young and Valencia
inconsistent, and Wilfried Zaha not afforded an opportunity.

The trio of Young, Nani and Valencia have just one assist between
them all season, with youngster Adnan Januzaj providing his first
Premier League assist against Fulham at the weekend.
United have always been a team who have benefitted from strong
wing play, and it's understandable David Moyes wants to continue that.
However given the poor impact from the side's current wingers, the
lack of focus on attacking through the centre, and Kagawa sitting on
the bench, the question certainly should be asked if the system needs
to be adapted to suit the players at the club's disposal.

that is the same zidane that roy keane destroyed in turin. scholes came on later & further completed the humiliation. if zidane were to be playing now, he won't be reckoned with. he played in the days where there was little or no competition to the throne.

You would think those with exotic styles possess one key trait or the other.
Instead the memory of City's third goal at the derby still haunts me with him joggin like a woman in labour.

Assistant manager Steve Round said: 'I was really pleased for Wilf Zaha to get a start and play as well as he did.

'Tom Cleverley was excellent, Adnan is getting stronger and stronger as each game goes by.

'One of the other players I was really pleased for was Ashley Young. I thought he had a terrific game.

'He has worked really hard in training to regain his form and put himself back on the line for Manchester United. His performance was excellent.'

Ashley Young glad to impress

October 30, 2013

By Richard Jolly

ESPN

Ashley Young savoured his return to the Manchester United team for the first time since his disappointing derby performance and believes he has staked his case to appear more often.

• Jolly: Three Things

The winger played the full 90 minutes in United’s 4-0 Capital One Cup win over Norwich on Tuesday and hopes he can keep his place when the Premier League champions visit Fulham on Saturday.

But apart from a ten-minute cameo against Real Sociedad six days earlier, it was Young’s first appearance since September’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, when he was substituted six minutes after half-time and widely criticised for his performance.

Since then, manager David Moyes has preferred to pick Adnan Januzaj and Shinji Kagawa on the left flank but the England international reckons he did well against Norwich.

He told MUTV: “I have not played since the City game. I have been waiting my time and I wanted to get out there and impress. I felt I did well. I enjoyed the game. We will have to wait and see what the manager thinks come the weekend.”

United recorded their third successive victory -- and their biggest win under Moyes -- and after a series of close games, Young felt it was only a matter of time before they thrashed someone.

He added: “I think it has [been coming]. You see the way we have been playing. We created many chances and could have got a few more. We were delighted to get four [goals]. We wanted to be in the next round and we have done that, so we are delighted.”

..............

Coogar, after reading the above do you still think Ashley Young was dropped from first because he dived against Crystal Palace? I didn't want to bring up this, but I think you should just know that diving has no connection with his being dropped.

We might be lucky with Fella, like Evra and Vidic who also had a baptism of fire in a derby against city? Here's hoping.
