For now Van Dijk is better than all of them. Vidic is just being politically correct, as expected.

Our midfield is really short in terms of quality and while I understand we lack a RB and RWF,, I think we should also make quality additions to that midfield.. City can tweak their midfield as much as they want with little drop in quality.. Gundogan/DeBruyne can easily replace the Silvas and City would be fine.. Liverpool can make two changes in midfield and they'd still be okay but same can't be said for us.. Fred is suspect (and I doubt he'd ever cut it here in the premier league) and Tominay's skillset (under Mourinho) seems limited.. Making top 4 is important so we'd be able to draw top talents without having to overpay..

If we get world class players I don’t care if we overpay for them, as long as they deliver.

Let's just trust the coach for his decision. I hope he made the right one though.

To me, I think Tom has had more game time in the defence side of the midfield than Andrea and Fred. The later duo will fit best in an attacking side of midfield.

I hope Tom will be able to do his job and not burden Herrera and Pogba.
