There is a dedicated thread for MMF, if you have entered that thread and customer service response was your priority, then I am not sure you would have typed fbn not to talk of typing it in full fbnquest. Except they have changed.
I have not united capital experience, I think oga Emma uses them. for some strange reasons u did not even add stanbic ibtc as an option.
Anyway, that thread will serve you better. They are also matured there.

Good day guys, it's been long since I last posted here but I've been following up with the thread and I've gained a whole lot, thanks to everyone.

I'm about to go into money market fund with a few millions and my two options are united capital and fbnquest, which among these two have better customer service response? As that is very important to me. Also hope my capital is preserved with money market funds?

PLEASE I will appreciate response from anyone that is using either of the two management mentioned above. Thank you

It appears no one is ready to reply me. Please has anyone done investment with Renmoney before? Between them and Investment one which will you advise. Thanks.

You can't really compare them because the two firms' focus and the license they have differs.
Renmoney is more of a bank tending towards MDB but Investment one is an investment bank and a capital market operator regulated by SEC. So want you want will determine who to approach.
If you want a fund manager and a place for all forms of investment then investment one is your choice. As already advised by pa Emma you can do your due diligence on the two firms.
I have written alot here on investment one products particularly VGIF do well to read or contact me to know more about investment one and products offer by them. Check my signature for my contact phone number.

How long have you been doing your eurobond, my own has not moved into the positive spectrum from the bank charges since the beginning of the year. Stanbic then increase the money one can subscribe which means I have to be looking at that one there for as long as possible.

For customer service except you go physically to their office and be given an account officer, FBNQUEST customer service will stress you more. I have dealt with both United Capital customer service is more responsive.
Thank you very much.... Any hint on the capital preservation as regards the money market fund with united capital please?

I was at the bank today. I tried to withdraw some USD, but I was told I can't withdraw, forex recieved via transfer/inflow. This leaves me no legal option to transfer this money to Naira. I am able to use this funds to shop online without issues using GTbank dollar card.

This seems crazy at the moment since I need some Naira. But looking at thing from CBN angle, this is very smart. This with limit craze for forex in Naija, what we spend in Naija is Naira. Now I feel it. I need to buy a bag of rice and other stuff, the dollat is just useless in my account.

Yes, I heard they started this on Monday.
Some banks allow you to convert forex in your account to naira at the official exchange rate. Zenith, for instance. GTB used to have that option (FX Sales), but stopped it.

Jeez, I should have done Eurobond. I just checked again, apparently what I have with Stanbic is a type of Dollar fund type mutual fund but in USD. Men that thing craws slower than a snail.

100% capital preservation is not guaranteed because it depends on price movement of the underlying assets. I think this is still the best time to invest in Eurobond Fund.

The naira end of it is good, CS is also good as everything is online but I am not sure I understand the dollar fund part very well, anyway, make the money de there not like I need it urgently. Rates are not static, but as expected, they are not very high. If u see MMF as a way of savings with interest, you won't be too worried, but if you are like ahib who checks inflation rates, devaluation, naira vs usd and other microeconomics, then I suggest you go into other ventures. MMF is not even a get rich scheme not to talk of being a get rich quickly scheme.

I see, regarding EuroBonds say someone invests $12,000 capital at about 7%.
On a daily basis interest of about $2 is added to the account?
Are there days interest could drop to 50 cents?
Could capital amount drop too?
Thanks

IamR:

My friend sold his USD at N470 last week, but I have neither sold nor withdrawn USD this month.

yes i see it as a way of saving with interest without the additional deduction of 10% as applied to normal bank savings and of course slightly higher interest rate than regular bank savings account. I just need something reliable I can compound gradually with not minding inflation rate also bearing in mind my millions are safe

It may or may not happen, but it has not gone below 6% since I started. In fact, I have been getting twice of the usual daily interest in the last 5 days.

To me everything is all right with United Capital for now. The only thing I have not tried with them for now is withdrawal. I consider speed very important because I may need to make other investment decisions sometimes. StanbicIBTC has been my best for that even though they frustrated my moves yesterday.

Just to put it in perspective. A $1k in January this year will be around how much now. This 7% is misleading because per day, the real amount will be infinitesimal.

We have had this discussion here about the people and HR in Nigeria being a major problem, some put it down to poverty and hunger, but as far as I know, on the poverty index, we are far better than Zimbabwe yet see the experience of this person in a poor country like Zimbabwe.

Vixlot:

My Experience in Zimbabwe.

I did something in Zimbabwe and I am wondering who will be stupid enough to do such in Nigeria.*

We hired a car (Hyundai Elantra 2018) from Europcar for six (6) months. On my departure day, I drove it to the airport, but the car hire office was closed. My flight was just two (2) hours, so no chance of taking it back to town.

While thinking of what to do, a young man (Jack) who identified himself as a staff of Caresafe taxi service at the airport told me that Europcar have closed the office due to Lockdown. He offered to help me in returning the car to Europcar office in the city. All he needed was call credit to contact them.
I gave him equivalent of 300NGN for the call credit. I then parked the car, gave him the key, took a picture of his ID and returned to Nigeria.

By close of the day, I recieved a mail from Europcar that the car has been returned.

Though, I didn't know the Jack and there was no way of tracing him except by his work ID which was not verified, my mind was at rest that he will hand over the car to the car hire. I trusted him because he's a Zimbabwean. He may be extremely poor and hungry, I know he's contented.

Despite the poor economy, people still leave their wares outside on the table till the next day without fear. WHO DARE TRY THIS IN NIGERIA?

This is not about the government or politics, but the people.
These people respect the law. For my six(6) months stay, i heard no single report of crime in the city. The police are unarmed except for stick but are highly respected.

Jack may not even be a christian. I didn't bother to ask for his religion. I didn't trust him because he mentioned the name of a God, he wore collar or carry a holy book . I trusted him because I knew the practice of his people.
If he's my country man, i dare not try that. I wonder how we descended this low as a country.

I have been suspected and severally interrogated just because I carried Nigeria passport.
This has happened in unrelated places, not because of what I have done but because of where I come from.

An officer in Lahore was once suprised he couldn't find drugs on me (a Nigerian) even after rigorous scanning.
Once you identify as a Nigerian, people see you as a potential criminal.

It is time to repair our identity.
We need to work on our value system.
We need to retrace our steps to find where we missed it.
Maybe we can be right again.

I wanted withdraw some dollar (which came in as cash deposit) from my account today but most of what they had is lower denominations. So I had to transfer some to the Aboki's account using local transfer. He exchanged for me at 470. I still have some cash at hand that I'm still holding on to to see the direction the rates are going

Also 0.5% charge has been introduced for transfer. This was not in there the last time I did transfer in May

Lot of falsehoods on this list. Speaking about those I know of - the Kenyan shilling is more like 1 to 3.8 with Nigeria's latest devaluation, naira is much stronger (actually about 1 naira to 10Ar) than the Madagascan ariary which is a very very weak currency and the Sudanese pound is a worthless piece of paper.

you are right, even the SA Rand should be about N30 per 1 Rand

Hi,
Which bank charged you 0.5% to transfer cash deposit?
Sayvif you had withdrawn lower denominations in cash, there wouldn't be any charge i guess.
