chummygirl:Carbimazole is only to be used in pregnancy if the benefit outweighs the risk. It can cause defects in fetus especially in 1st trimester but then hyperthyroidism can cause outright mortality in fetus so ur doctor has to do risk benefit analysis. With dose adjustment, both mum n infant can come out fine. Also about 4wks to delivery the drug is stopped. Some practitioners prefer PTU in first trimester and then switch to carbimazole in 2nd trimester. In all these, work together with your Dr (a consultant preferably), with routine scan for baby's welfare and routine test n monitoring of ur thyroid func, u n baby should come out fine. biGPoppaSays: There are so many. Just ask any good chemist for either Pregnacare Original, Pregnacare Plus or Pregnacare Max. They range between 2500 and 6k. Don't forget to also include one dose of folic acid daily until the foetus is aborted. No side effects at all 50 Likes 3 Shares |
