Some prominent leaders from the North have assembled to kick President Muhammad Buhari out of office come 2019. The plan, according to elder statesman, Tanka Yakassai, is to produce a more credible and acceptable presidential candidate from the region. Some members of the movement are mainly retired military chiefs, former governors, ex-ministers, senators and other top public office holders. Speaking with the Sun about the movement and the plan to sack the current administration, Yakasai dismissed the claim that the entire North are for Buhari, saying, “I don’t know how you came to that conclusion, because other aspirants are expressing their wish to contest, people are still aspiring. “The question of someone becoming a consensus candidate for a whole area of the north does not make sense. “In addition, the rule of multi party democracy, there will never be a consensus candidate anywhere in Nigeria or anywhere multi party is practiced. Otherwise the merit of multi party democracy is defeated. “And that does not go with democracy if you come up with a consensus candidate. Consensus candidate means killing competition. Competition is the livewire of democracy. “Those who are elected particularly at the presidential level owe their allegiance to the people who got them into office and not the voters. We want to change that narrative. “We want the election in the future to be based on programme and manifesto, we want the election to be credible and through a verifiable process that would change the life of the people for the better. “To do that, you have to come with your own programme and your own manifesto, not a manifesto written by hired Professors or Doctors because of their command of English that can impress people. “Our focus is election related matters. We want our votes to have values. After an aspirant is selected, the person can now face us. “We decided to visit all our former Heads of state who are of northern extraction. We wanted to visit first, former Head of state, General Gowon, unfortunately he was not in the country and we wrote a letter to his office to tell him about the emergence of the organization and he has not been back yet. “As we were waiting for him, we had to go to Minna to see former Heads of state, Babangida and Abdulsalami. We found out that Abdulsalami traveled since January and would not come back soon but Babangida said he was around, we decided not to kill time but to go and speak to him.” He assured that the group will also be meeting Obasanjo soon. “We will do it. The programme is still on and you will hear from us. We decided to go to whoever is available. It was by sheer interest that we found Babangida available. “Our plan was to start with General Gowon but he was not available, even Abdulsalami that we wanted to do with Babangida was not around,” he said. According to the Sun, some of the prominent retired Generals on this mission include Gen. J.T Useni, Gen. John Temlong, Gen. India Garba, Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi, Gen. E.T Nienge, Gen. Laurence Onoja, Gen. M.D Chong, Col. Habibu Shuaibu, Navy Commodore Isaac M. Mankilik, Commodore D.T Hinga, Commodore Mainasara B. Kaoje and Maj. Hassan Zara. Former governors also drafted for the assignment include Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, Ibrahim Idris Wada, Barr. Ibrahim Shema, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, and Mr Boni Haruna. Ex-Ministers also involved include Dr. Bello Mohammed Haliru, Amb. Bagudu Hirse, Alhaji Muktari Shagari, Dr. Mohammed Shata, Sen. Bala Mohammed, Dr. Ibrahim Lame, and Engr. Mohammed Abba Gana. The Borno State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has described the planned defection of former factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff to the ruling party, as “a rumour.” The State Chairman of the party, Ali Dolori said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja. The report came that the former PDP chairman was set to join the ruling party on Thursday. The leadership of the APC, however, asked him to join from his ward. Reacting, Dolori said, “I want to assure you that the news remains a rumour, because somebody is only trying to fly a kite that is capable of causing confusion during the state congress. “We are aware of the well articulated plan and we are ready to defend any attempt towards destroying our party at the ward level and in any state — not just Borno. “We shall conduct our congresses peacefully without any rancour and I assure you that nobody can create any faction for our party in Borno during the congress expected to hold in less than two weeks.” He noted that Article 9 .1 of the party’s 2014 amended Constitution was specific that application “for membership shall be made to and cleared by the party ’s ward executives in the Local Government Area where the person was born, resides , works or originates.” Dolori added, “Online registration shall also be acceptable, provided that it was cleared by the party ’s National Working Committee. “Where an application is refused, the applicant may, as of right, appeal to the Local Government Area Executive Committee of the party or to the National Secretary or National Chairman in case of online registration.” “I, therefore, don’t see how the party’s national chairman can receive any person into the party, when the constitution is clear about the process in that regard,” Dolori said http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/apc-reveals-ali-modu-sheriffs-ill.html

Former chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff, has made the decision to dump the party and rejoin the ruling All Progressives' Congress (APC). According to a report by Daily Trust, the APC's National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed that Sheriff would be received formally into the party on Thursday, April 26, 2018. "The information I heard is that it will be tomorrow (Thursday) at 12pm," he said. The former PDP governor is expected to defect with the PDP's 2015 gubernatorial candidate in Borno state, Gambo Lawan. Lawan confirmed that he would be defecting with Sheriff, saying he is leaving the PDP because it has been hijacked by some few people. He said, "Yes, we have moved to the APC; I and former Governor Sheriff have left the PDP for the APC and there are reasons. Sheriff for instance is only going back home; he is the father of APC in Borno, he is a founding member of the party because he partook in taking the ANPP as one of the legacy parties that formed the APC. "He only left the APC in 2015 when he was unfairly treated during the sharing of leadership positions when his candidate for the national secretary, Matawalli Kashim Imam was short-changed. "So there is nothing new; Sheriff is the face of APC in Borno and the North East; he is the one who enthroned the incumbent governor and is behind the success story of many politicians. "For me, I am not used to defection but was compelled to leave the PDP because it has been hijacked by some few people; the party has not reformed. "And most importantly, politics is local; Borno is APC and it is for President Buhari. Our joining the party with millions of our supporters will strengthen it in Borno and environs." According to sources that spoke to Daily Trust, Sheriff and Lawan recently met with President Muhammadu Buhari who directed the leadership of the APC to accept him into the party. The sources also revealed that Sheriff would have been unveiled as a new APC member on Wednesday, April 25, with Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, in attendance, but the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting lasted till evening. The source said, "What would happen tomorrow in Abuja is a mark of respect for Sheriff but I want to assure you that he had done all the processes of defection from his ward in Ngala town in Central Borno. The Borno APC is fully aware that he is coming." Sheriff's controversial time with PDP Sheriff was Borno state governor between 2003 and 2011 under the platform of the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) before he defected to the PDP in 2014. In February 2016, he was installed as the party's National Working Committee (NWC) chairman in an acting capacity until he was removed during the party's 2016 National Convention three months later. Sheriff rejected the convention's decision, declaring that any other chairman was a 'counterfeit'. In July 2017, a five man panel of the Supreme Court sacked Sheriff and installed Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the acting national chairman of the PDP before Uche Secondus was elected chairman at the party's 2017 convention. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/pdp-loses-former-chairman-to-apc.html

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to reports of an alleged face-off between the leader of the party in the state, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and erstwhile Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. The party was reacting to a certain report (not published in DAILY POST) where the Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi was accused by some youth group of fighting Oshiomhole. In a statement made available to DAILY POST by Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, Media Consultant to Dr Ikanya the River State APC Chairman, the party said it does not need any soothsayer to tell her that the report was a mere tool of blackmail aimed at maligning the person and personality of Amaechi. The party stated that it is erroneous to report that Amaechi is fighting oshiomhole, adding that such a fight only exists in the minds of those promoting falsehood as the Minister is neither fighting Oahiomhole or any other leader of the party. The party said Amaechi is not holding or ever had any meeting in connection to who occupies the National Chairman of the party or any other position of the yet to be elected members of the National Working Committee of the party. The party further stated that at the time the Edo meeting was held the Honourable Minister was at Washington, USA on office national assignment and couldn’t have held any meeting he is being credited to in this regard. The party added that, “To the best of the knowledge of greater members of the party that both Amaechi and Oshiomhole are best of friends and comrades in ensuring that President Muhammadu Buhari wins the 2019 Presidential election so these failed politicians looking for cheap publicity and how to sow seed of discord amongst these two brothers should look for a better job to do as their evil plots against an innocent man have failed even before it was hatched.” Finally, the party noted that as much as the party is not against the aspiration of anybody to any position within the party, members must endeavour to avoid the undemocratic acts that led to the downfall of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by ensuring that we follow strictly the tenets of democracy and the constitution of our party in pursuance of our aspirations. The party maintained that the endorsement of any political leader to any position must follow the due Process and reflect the views and positions of the leaders of the party in the six States that make up the South -South region. The party emphasised that any political process that closes the door against the aspiration of other members of the party from our zone can’t be said to be in tandem with the constitution of its great political party. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/apc-reacts-to-report-of-amaechi.html

Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has continued his attack on President Muhammadu Buhari, over his comments on the youths in Nigeria. Buhari, speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster on Wednesday , said youths prefer to do nothing because they feel Nigeria is an oil-rich nation. According to the President, a lot of Nigerian youths have not been to school, yet they want everything free. In a series of tweets posted on his verified Twitter page on Friday, Fayose claimed Buhari got into the Army at 19 and became a Second Lieutenant without O’Level certificate. “Under President Buhari; a man who got everything as a youth despite his academic limitations, farms are no longer safe for our youths who have taken to farming. They are being murdered by herdsmen and the President is looking the other way. Within 3 years, over 10m jobs lost! “If Nigeria was without opportunities for the youths like this when President Buhari was a youth,he would have probably ended up as a local farmer, rearing cows in Daura. But he had opportunity of joining the army at 19 & becoming a 2nd Lieutenant at 21 without O’Level certificate,” the Governor wrote. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/buhari-joined-nigerian-army-without.html

Igbo World Assembly (IWA) the umbrella organisation of Igbo organisations in diaspora, has condemned what it described as childish suspension of Dr. Nnia Nwodo, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, IWA chairman and Christian Onuorah, IWA Vice Chairman in a statement jointly signed while picking hole in the purported suspension by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Women Wing noted that the youth wing was suspended by the previous Ohanaeze Ndigbo administration led by Chief Gary Enwo-Igariwey for indiscipline and insubordination. In October 2017, the Imeobi of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the highest decision-making body, according to IWA, confirmed the suspension in addition, suspended the Women Wing for the same behavior. “The election being organised by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo this month prompted them to falsely announce the suspension. “The Ohanaeze Ndigbo under the leadership of Dr. Nnia Nwodo, is doing an excellent job for Ndigbo”, the group said in the statement. Noting that IWA was in full support of Nwodo administration, the group urged Ndigbo to support and allow him to continue his job. “IWA is very proud and happy the way Ohanaeze is being administered.” “Ndigbo need focus and strong leadership. Dr. Nnia Nwodo is giving Ndigbo the leadership”, the group added. IWA member organisations include Council of Igbo States in Americas (CISA), European Igbo Community (EIC), Igbo Union of Canada (IUC), Igbo Union Finland (IUF), and many others. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/ohanaeze-iwa-flays-nwodos-suspension.html

The Governor of Ekiti State, AyodeIe Fayose has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari for enjoying in London while Fulani herdsmen were killing innocent Nigerians in Benue State. President Buhari left Nigeria last Monday for the UK where he had held discussions on Nigeria – British relations with Prime Minister, Mrs Theresa. May. While in London, Buhari had pledged that the killings in some parts of Nigeria would soon come to an end. He said his administration was finding lasting solutions to the menace. The President said this while receiving the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, in London. Buhari also met with British Prime Minister, Theresa May in London on Monday where they discussed security issues affecting Nigeria. But in a series of tweets on Monday, Fayose frowned at the London visit, saying “I have never seen a President anywhere in the world staying abroad when 67 of his people were killed in just one State (Benue). “President Buhari is in London, wasting resources belonging to Nigerians while the same Nigerians are being killed in Benue by herdsmen? This is sad!” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/buhari-enjoying-in-london-while.html

A former governor of Kaduna State in the Second Republic, Balarabe Musa has said that nobody can become the President of Nigeria without first being a thief or backed by thieves. Musa said there was hardly how any politician can legitimately raise the kind of money required for presidential campaign in Nigeria. The former governor further blamed the socio-economic woes of the country on the political structure. Musa claimed that 99 per cent of the people in the corridors of power were thieves. He said this in a video clip circulating on the Facebook. He was captured as saying this while playing host to a presidential hopeful, Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of an online news medium. Sowore, in the clip, said he visited the Kaduna politician to seek his counsel on how to go about his presidential ambition in 2019. Musa said, “What is the quality of Nigeria’s leadership? The quality of the Nigerian leadership is a thief, [sic]. “Since the end of the Second Republic, how has it been possible in Nigeria to have a political leadership which is not made up of thieves? “Of course, there are exceptions… I’m not saying that 100 per cent of the leadership in Nigeria is made up thieves, no, there are exceptions, but I doubt if there are up to one per cent who are clean…99 per cent are thieves. “For example, how can you win on the basis of the Nigerian laws and the Nigerian culture; how can you be a Nigerian President without being a thief first? “Because it is through stealing that you can make it. Both the political parties and election in Nigeria are based on money power and this money power is equal to corruption. So, this is what you have. “We have a socio- economic and political system controlling all developments in the country and the political leadership produced by that system both of which are made up of people who regard self -interest first, public interest second, as opposed to public interest first and self-interest second. “Now, how can you have order; how can you have development in a situation like this? “I gave you the example of the President; nobody can be a President of Nigeria unless he is a thief or supported by thieves. “I mean, the fact is clear. You know, the reasonable estimate of the cost of campaigning for presidency in Nigeria is billions. How can you acquire these billions?” Musa added that the situation was not so before the Second Republic, recalling that “( Shehu) Shagari became the President of Nigeria without being a thief.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/only-thieves-can-become-nigerias.html

Big Brother Naija 2018 housemates could not hide their disappointment, when Cee-C returned to the house following the eviction of Khloe, Anto and Lolu on Sunday. Cee-c was last week put up for possible eviction alongisde Lolu, Miracle, Anto and Khloe, but she narrowly escaped the ‘big hammer’ last night during the live show after securing 27.888% vote behind Miracle, who topped with 44.33%. However, none of the housmates rushed to hug Cee-c, neither were there any scream of excitement when she returned to the house. Only Miracle brought out a bottle of champagne to pop in celebration, asking Cee-C to give a speech on what she is grateful for. She nonchalantly replied thus, “I am grateful that I’m here despite all the adversity, challenges and gossips”. Cee-C makes the finals of this year’s Big Brother Naija reality show, along with Tobi, Alex, Miracle and Nina. The four attacks struck government outposts in northern and eastern Afghanistan; at least three appeared coordinated. They occurred late at night or early in the morning, with the attackers using long-range sniper rifles and night-vision equipment, according to Afghan officials, who tallied at least 10 wounded in all, along with those killed. In separate assaults, a girls’ high school in Logar province, near the capital, Kabul, was burned on April 11, and masked attackers struck a school in the village of Momandara, in Nangarhar province, on Saturday night, setting archives and labs ablaze, according to education officials. No one was reported hurt in those two attacks. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but government officials blamed Taliban insurgents for the attacks on the government outposts. In recent years, mainstream Taliban forces have normally refrained from attacking schools. In the Sancharak District, in the northern Sar-i-Pul province, the governor, Naqibullah Daqiq, said that two government checkpoints in the west had been attacked by Taliban fighters using night-vision equipment and sniper rifles, with one guard killed at first. When local pro-government militiamen tried to counter the assault, they fell into a Taliban ambush, and 10 others were killed, Daqiq said. Nematullah Tofan, police chief of the district of Dawlat Abad, in another northern province, Faryab, said that two government checkpoints in the village of Khairabad had fallen to Taliban fighters after their snipers killed four government defenders. The third attack was in Ghazni province, in southeastern Afghanistan, where two Afghan Local Police checkpoints in the district of Jaghatu were attacked at 2 a.m. Sunday, killing eight officers and wounding four others, according to Hamidullah Nawruz, a member of the Ghazni provincial council. A fourth attack took place Sunday afternoon, when three guards outside Nangarhar University in the eastern city of Jalalabad took a break for worship. Gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on them while they were praying, killing two immediately, according to a news release from the provincial governor’s office. The third guard fled but was chased by the gunmen and killed, according to a witness who insisted on anonymity for fear of reprisals. Ibrahim Musa, in a statement, said a contingent of combat ready Policemen, led by the FCT Police Commissioner, took over the Unity Fountain with intent on stopping the daily Free Zakzaky Sit Out convened by a coalition of groups led by the Concerned Nigerians. Musa said, “They used teargas to disperse the people and the Police Commissioner arrested the convener of the sit out, Prince Deji Adeyanju and detained him for some hours with neither justification nor charges. “These acts of intimidation and harassment of the highest order are despicable and a complete affront on our rights to peaceful assembly and protest. “We condemn it in its entirety. Throughout the eighty five days since the commencement of the Daily Sit Out and indeed for the entire period of the Free Zakzaky campaign, protesters have conducted themselves in the most peaceful manner. “Notwithstanding official sabotage and violent (often fatal) attacks by security forces on protesters, we have never resorted to violent methods to pursue our goals. “These drastic and illegal actions would certainly not in any way stop the legitimate clamour to end impunity and total disrespect to the rule of law and the course of justice. “It certainly will not stop the campaign to obey court’s order by freeing Sheikh Zakzaky or stop the rightful call for the prosecution of the culprits of the heinous Zaria massacre of December, 2015. “We will like to seize this opportunity to assure the general public that they should disregard the misinformation and propaganda being spread by security agents that our massive turn out in Abuja for the campaign to free Sheikh Zakzaky is a security threat. “Our leader has never advocated violence and his residence had always been a place of refuge for Christians and minority tribes during crises in the past. “The struggle to free the Sheikh from tyrants can therefore never be threatening to the same oppressed people. Today it maybe Sheikh Zakzaky being oppressed. Who knows whose turn it would be tomorrow? “We are therefore calling on all other groups to join us in our peaceful campaign against impunity. We also urge all well meaning Nigerians, groups and people of conscience to bear on the authorities, especially President Muhammadu Buhari, to release Sheikh Zakzaky, his wife, and several others in illegal detention across the country as ordered by the courts of the land.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/zakzaky-islamic-movement-comdems-attack.html

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has reiterated his support for local government autonomy in the country. Saraki, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sanni Onogu, in Abuja, stated this during a visit by the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), led by its National President, Comrade Ibrahim Khalil. He said: “Here in the Senate and the National Assembly, we appreciate the importance of governance in the third tier of government — the local government,” Saraki said. “As such, it is very important that we strengthen local government administration. “Part of strengthening local government administration is ensuring that there is autonomy. I also believe that strengthening local government administration means that we all do our best to increase the capacity at the local government. “Sometimes, you find out that in developed countries, people who are competent, to contest at a level even as high as the Senate, would tell you that they don’t want to be at the Federal level like Abuja or Washington, they prefer to stay at the local level”. Saraki told the local government employees that it was also important to see that local governments are properly and independently funded, adding, “however, there must be a symbiotic relationship between the states and the local governments to ensure that the third tier of government is not placed at a disadvantage.” “It is unfortunate that you observed that in the last Constitution alteration exercise, we were not successful on this issue. Being a former Governor, the Senate Leader always reminds me that ‘I have seen the light.’ But on a serious note, we all have a role to play to strengthen our local government system. “It is important that we see how local governments can be independent, how local governments can have more autonomy, and Governors cannot interfere with what is due to local governments. “In all of this, there must still be a cordial and symbiotic relationship. If we just say that local governments should just be on their own, it might have some disadvantages. “We must also look at how we can ensure that local governments have funding of their own without any interference,” Saraki stated. Saraki also noted that following the last Constitutional Review exercise embarked on by the National Assembly, only nine states were in support of local government autonomy, stating that he would do more to ensure that further cooperation and collaboration is achieved to rectify the issue. “If we look at the last Constitution review exercise, unfortunately, I must say that we have a lot to do. I don’t think that we got up to nine states that were in support of local government autonomy. “I will ensure that we do more to rectify this issue. I am proud to say that my home state, Kwara, was one of those 9 states that supported local government autonomy. “It will happen. I assure you, it will happen. We are all in a hurry to see that it happens. The question though, is how soon? I always say that these kinds of things like the Constitutional amendment process, you cannot bully anybody. But you must ensure that there is cooperation and collaboration,” the President of the Senate said. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/saraki-declares-support-for-local.html

Some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra State have started the process of removing the chairman of the party in the state, Emeka Ibe. The APC chairman was accused of lacking leadership qualities that could position the party to win elections. The stakeholders, under the aegis of Special Concerned Elders’ Forum, had an emergency meeting in Awka, where they also accused the chairman of not carrying members of the party along in the scheme of things. In a joint press briefing by Emma Okpalonwu and Joe Ifejiaka, who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders, they said it became imperative to re-zone party leadership positions so as to balance the political equation in the party. “All offices currently occupied by the North Senatorial Zone, will be allocated to Central Senatorial Zone. “All offices currently occupied by Central Senatorial Zone, will be assigned to the South Senatorial Zone. “All offices currently occupied by the South Senatorial Zone, will be taken up by the North Senatorial Zone. “All the members and zones are advised to comply accordingly to ensure a peaceful congress of APC in the state,” they said. According to them, since the governorship position would be zoned to the South Senatorial Zone, it would be fair and just to effect the zoning formula as resolved. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/2019-apc-stakeholders-move-to-remove.html

The Campaign for Democracy and the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights has described the self defence call by governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State as an indication of the failure of the Federal Government, the state government and security agencies. Ortom, on Tuesday told the Internally Displaced Persons to go home and use stones to defend themselves. He charged residents to embrace self-defence over the uncontrollable killings in the state. This was after the Chairman, Gwer West Local Government Council of Chiefs, Chief Daniel Abomtse said that 24 persons were killed on Thursday attack on Mbapa, Mbapupuu, Mbachohon, and Enger, all in Agagbe District in Gwer-West LGA. Reacting, CD President, Usman Abdul in a statement, said the government must not seek reelection because it had failed in its primary responsibility to Nigerians, which is providing security. The statement read “The constitution of our country clearly spells out the protection of lives and property of citizens as the first responsibility of every government. This call by the governor in Benue tells you that the present Federal Government and the state government have failed the people. Why will such proclamation be coming at this crucial time? These are people in abject poverty, in danger and in disarray. “It is a total failure of the government and it shows this government must not demand a second term in office. It is very unfortunate that the tenure elongation of the service chiefs and heads of security agencies has not translated to better security of lives and property in the country.” Also, the CDHR President, Malachy Ugwummadu, said the crisis in Beneu State was “a classical picture of a failed leadership at the highest level. The drawback of this episode is that such a statement from the governor graphically paints the depth of frustration and underscores the abysmal failure of leadership and governance in Nigeria. “My recommendation is that Ortom should spend more time with security experts who can think out of the box for solutions.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/herdsmen-killings-buhari-has-failed.html

Nigerian Nollywood iconic actress Foluke Daramola who started her acting career at a tender age of 13 and recently joined the league of 40 year olds in the entertainment industry is set to divert her energy into something else. Daramola has declared that she will not be too involved in acting compared to how frequent she was with her job. She recently turned 40 and has declared that this will not be because of her age. She has declared that with the society they would never have been Foluke Daramola and as such she wants to give back to the society for supporting and building along with her. According to her, when her foundation will be clocking 4 years of existence, she will be giving out empowerment programs to about 50 individuals in celebration. When asked by an interviewer if her age will influence the type of movie she will be featuring in; she said: “The only way it will affect my movies is that I have chosen to spend more time on humanity than movies. I started acting at a very tender age, I started show business when I was 13; I started with talk show before I delved into acting. Along the line, I have been reading and the society has been giving to me. Without the society, there won’t be the Foluke Daramola we know now, so I believe it is time for me to start giving back to humanity. It won’t affect my movies. I think on a scale of 100; I will give 60 per cent to humanity and 40 per cent to acting. I am not going to stop acting or anything.” She said. From the hint of giving back to the society, the interviewer then asked her if we should look out for you doing more of philanthropy? She answered saying; “Yes, by God’s grace. It’s not like I am not going to be having a party, but the party I am going to be having will tilt towards giving 100 people skills acquisition. We are going to empower between 20 and 50 of them on that day. This is going to be in May because that is when my foundation will be four. I can’t have my birthday party in February and another in May. That is why I decided to combine both celebrations.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/foluke-daramola-set-to-shun-acting-for.html
