villybest: What are the health implication of not giving my baby a BCG immunisation,I gave birth 2 days ago,the hospital said since its only me,the won't open the BCG pack,that I should call next week by then the would have gotten more babies to immunise..I hope its save to go home without it,cos I ve just been discharged. go to a govt health center or general hosp. nearest to u. its free. as far as i know new mums are attended to on tym. in the meantytm, do not let anyone apart from d dad, n ur mum or mother in law or whoever is bathing or taking care of d baby touch her. no visitors abeg. the reason ur hosp did not give u is for it not to expire before its exhusted. in govt hosp, its given to a large number of babies at once. |

My first son was nearly 2 weeks wen I gave him bcg cus of the hospital policy of doing immunization once a month. With my second son I didn't wait for them. The day after I was discharged, I went to the nearest health centre I could find to give him the bcg. And we all lived happily after. Point is u don't have to wait for them. Just take ur child to anoda hospital if u can. They will still mark his card incase of next vaccine. 1 Like 1 Share |

Blendy77: My Sister take ur baby to the hospital. I experienced exactly same thing last week and mine turned out to be measles. Though I have no idea if a 5m old can contact measles at that early age sha but then my own baby was not up to 9m before contacting it and we were actually waiting for 9m to immunize them. His twin brother was immunized today but we can't rule out his contacting it as he hasn't shown any symptoms yet. Morning sweet mothers, wishing y'all a blessed week ahead. Concerning the chicken pox vaccine, my hubby was at R JOLAD over the weekend to enquire about it. It seems it's the same vaccine available in our hospital they have too. The current chicken pox vaccine is mixed with MMR, but the issue we have is my son already took the MMR vaccine 3months ago. The nurse in charge in R JOLAD said if it's been up to 6weeks he took the MMR shot, then he can take it again Hence, we are going for the mixed shot. Just tot I should get back to the house.
