wirinet: I know it is painful to the ego, but the truth is as of today, the white skinned people are more advanced than their black skinned counterparts. The only advantage the blacks have is in terms of raw strength, endurance and talent, but in terms of societal, technological intelectual and even spiritual advancement, we are thouroughly lacking. The few blacks that are able to exhibit some level of advancement are those that have left their native environment and have been transplanted to white societies. A good pointer is how the minority white population of south africa was able advance and modernise south africa in less than 100 years. I hope the now black leadership would not regress theses advancements in a few decades.

Criteria I use for measuring advancement are social organizatiom, ability to protect the society, agricultural, scientific and technical advancements, written language, poetry, art, music, religion, etc

Black Africa had to borrow alphabet, religion, science, technology, mathematics,etc from the whiles. Our people prefer want to look like whites, eat white food, wear white clothes and adopt white values. If we do not subconciously feel the whiles are superior, why do most of us want to ape them?

all4naija: I quite agree with you in almost all ramifications. That is, if we are talking about modern advancement. Yet African leaders are the buck of the hindrances in that regard, it is clear many of these white advanced nations have abetted the development of Africa due to the incentive they are giving to these currupt leaders to commit more havocs.

This still boils down to why Africans are not ready to learn. They keep praising the past and fail to forge ahead. It is annoying on one hand when you see them clamoring about the white superiority thing without making any progress to contribute to the society. So, black and white are just silly in different ways and superiority needs to be redefined in this context, if you asked me.

The three main things are religion, media, and history.
1. Religion: When Africans looks at a deity that is white then they feel that god is white. The missionaries know hte original god is Jesus is not white but they still push white Jesus. 2. Media In Media we always see whites as good and blacks as bad. CNN BBC always portrays Africans badly. Many Africans watch this all the time and get their news from their. They believe everything from CNN even though a lot is BS that is why they justified Gbagbo being overthrown and Gaddaffi dying. Also now with this KONY 2012 thing. Even in Hollywood they show America and Europe and glorify it and they see how great the west is. Then they see how their city is then they say wow whites can build great cites but blacks can't. But the blacks don't know HOW they got all of that. What did they do? They exterminated the Native Americans, they enslaved fellow Africans. They cause many wars around the world to get cheap resources. They fund various African wars. Most Africans don't know this because we are brainwashed

3. History: Some Africans only think that their history is slavery and colonization. They glorify Europe and white people in history and say Africans are less than human. Read the book Miseducation of a negro by Carter Woodson. The educated Africans are taught to despise their own people. My friend went to a Christian school in Nigeria and they taught them Americans and European history instead of African history smh. That is how you make a slave.

If you bomb Japan then they can bounce back up. Enslave a mind and they are a slave for life and you make their descendants slaves as well.

This seems to have eroded their moral compass, and spurred them harder into developing superior weapons of death, to conquer the richer, sophisticated, cultured lands to the south - the world of the 'darkies' which led the globe in ancient times, and to appropriate their resources.

Note, the industrial revolution occurred AFTER the 'white man' had appropriated the lands and resources of the south. NOT BEFORE.

Therefore the despoilation of the south is what led directly to the development of the north. The latter could not have happened without the former.

It's like the Niger Delta situation. Folks in Abuja live like kings while the owners of the resource suffer.

Abuja looks like heaven while Ogoniland is a byword for deprivation.

You visit Abuja and you say ''wow.. the people of Abuja must be superior, advanced humans''.

Every time I visit Nairaland to read news, I always leave the site with a very sad heart due to some st****d and f***ish comments. Is there no more love among us? Why must we fight against each other all the time? This is no time to fight, we must always assist and encourage each other (we are one, be it YORUBA, IGBO OR HAUSA). In response to the OP question, from my own view, I believe it has to do with our culture. Before I left Nigeria, I always believe the white are very smart and intelligent people. But after studying oversea, my perspective regarding a white man has really changed. They are not smarter than us but their culture gives them the ability and enthusiasm to explore more, something that we lack in our culture. I believe our culture has done more harm than good by holding us back.

Please stop downgrading yourself. Be proud of yourself, your culture and your race. If any white man read these negative comments, he/she will feel they are superior to your race. Asians are not advanced like western countries, but they don't praise any white man. They are proud of themselves and we should start doing the same. By thinking that one race is superior; you are already holding yourself back from exploration. They did it, why can’t you/we do it? Have the spirit and you will thrive. Think about something positive you can do that will change your world and the name of Nigeria in our world.
