Honda specialists in the house please I need help.

My honda accord was jerking when changing gears and sometimes when I press the accelerator the gear will not change it will be giving out sound if I remove my leg from the accelerator or I apply break or I switch off the ignition and switch it on the gear will engage and work perfecly for like 30 minutes or thereabout. It has been happening for weeks now my mechanic said it is gear problem and directed me to a gear specialist at Oyingbo. The gear specialist said before he could do anything I must see a rewirer so he referred me to a rewirer and the rewirer said the gear is not the problem that the gear switch was bad and he changed it he also changed the gear oil. The gear worked and changed perfectly for
like two weeks and the problem resurfaced. The gear always work smoothly for like one hour before this problem starts

Repeat the process again, this time start with a power train scan.

@adanny
Do you not understand what he means? Some tacking at the other end of the joint, not the one you're referring to in this joke.
@ GAZZUZZ
I hear of it as a cure in my workplace. I also hear of "nulling". I reject it mostly because I trust the designer/manufacturer a lot more than the "modification experts" so far...
... as in, I support safe modification for damaged parts...

Lets look at the possible failure types of the ball joint.

1. Stripping of bolt or nut thread
2. Shearing of bolt
3. Pulling out of ball from socket

There is no way to weld or prevent number 2 if you buy a substandard ball joint. This has happened to my Dad.

It is foolhardy to tag weld the nut because it wont stop stripping then pulling especially if substandard ball joint and nut is used.

If its a complete weld of the nut to bolt, that means suspension works are permanently limited. No access to entire drive shaft, shocks or the ball joint itself. This calls for destruction of the steering knockle arm, bearing and CVT joint from exposure to heat that will be required to remove the welded nut/bolt. Filing is a safe option but that destroys the bolt even when its good but a different maintenance work needs to be done.

Lastly, with the weld of the nut episode 3 can still happen. Would you weld the ball to socket. Doing that means no steer since the ball needs to move freely in its socket during steer.

From my knowledge, the only weld that happens there does not prevent pulling but prevents one unpleasant steer noise which has happened to me. The sitiation is where the ball joint becomes dry of grease then instead of the ball to turn in the sucket the sucket turns with steer while the ball remains fixed. Because the socket is not supposed to turn, it makes a loud cracking noise from friction. So a tag weld will stop the sucket from turning. I filing machine will remove the tags for replacement this doesnt affect anything.

if my hunch is right, te harness for 1 of your O2 sensor is open and currently causing a short circuit intermittently. You should solve the p1157 and P135 codes to be sure.

Raising shocks is very bad idea, replace them.
The throttle body of the car may need replacement, but start with claening your injection system and replacing the spark plugs.

The gear cable may have issues leading to difficulty in selecting reverse, if not, na gear box wahala be that.

Steering rack - 28,000
All shocks - 45,000
Gear sensor - Don't think you need that.
5W-20 HG oil - 2,500 per liter can
ATF-DW1 - 3,500 per liter can
HG steering fluid - 2,000 each
Throttle body - 25,000 toks.

I bought a Nigerian used EOD 2004 2.4L 4plugs, I serviced immediately after the purchase but after two weeks I discovered engine oil shortage and also the car consumes more fuel than an average eod. I took the car to my regular mechanic and he said I'll need to ring the engine that some parts are old or worn out already & thats the reason for the colored exhaust fumes when I start the car in the morning , he said there's no need to change the whole engine because the car still moves as fast as any other eod, ac is working perfectly and other features are cool.. But I want a professional advance and also cost of ringing and cost of fixing another engine.
I also want to know if is possible when changing the car engine to a 2.0L instead of the factory 2.4L engine.

Thank you.
