We have only one lagos in the South West of Nigeria the first capital of nigeria my lagos and the pride of africa, be it a slum or not everybody wants to stay their, its believe that at the last population census of lagos we had a population of about 18m people not considering those that come in from ibadan and ogun state to work and return every evening, like it or not people earn a daily living in lagos and can fit in anywhere, we are not bragging because lagos state was developed by all of us but because lagosians are unique and south westerners as a whole, we accommodate anyone and don't charge you for using the toilet and bathroom when/after you have paid your rent, we don't stop our women from marrying you or dating you we are the unifying factor that brings nigeria together

But I truly do think it would be to the betterment of other parts of Nigeria if Lagos no longer held such sway, that is not me joking. Even the region its situated in suffers from "Lagos fever".

I remember a comment online where a person was staying somewhere in the SW and wanted to go to the spa, she did't want to go to Lagos but had no choice because none were around where she was staying.

Nigeria would benefit from several solid cities instead of one, it increases competition and diversifies the country.
