Misternas89: Funny enough it’s my favourite. 🤩 My ND1 students are always happy whenever I handled that course STB111. Taxonomy is sweet once you get used to the tricks. Domain >>Kingdom>>phylum/division>>Class>>Order>>Family>>Genus(Generic)>>species(specific). Omo! 3 domains, fine. 5 or 6 kingdoms, still fine. But once you enter Animalia alone, you are already dealing with almost 8+ major phylum's and plenty of features to even recognize them, and that is just one kingdom. Chai We have not even touched the rest. Then add class, order, family, genus, specie… Oboy!!! |

Nwaikpe: When someone speaks, and people like you come to rebuff because you think you know one or two things about the space outside the country, it makes me laugh.
There is a funny instinct in a Nigerian that has "gone abroad." The instinct is to prove that they know also, and possibly know alone.
Referring to my statement, I clearly made it clear that it is the same kind of aircraft and the same kind of fuel that are being used for their operations that are being used here, but the fares are different. You ignored that possible different interpretation from your understanding by reason of the ambiguity related to its presentation and decided to "debunk."
Then you ran to Google pricing and got your minimum "250 Euros," which you are very correct about since debunking is your aim.
Then you went on to say, "Apart from taxes, you should know that limited direct intra-African flights create monopolistic pricing, then add the high cost of aviation fuel, importing parts, relying on foreign engineers for maintenance, and so on."
Since the fuel and engineers are different and more highly trained than the ones here in Europe, I let you be right. I can't join to debunk.
Then you rounded up with "Don't just blurt," feeling very proud of yourself. If I " ran to Google", I would not be estimating a range. And even if I did, fact-checking an obviously exaggerated and misleading claim is not a crime. Everything I pointed out remains correct, and thanks for acknowledging most of it. There is no shame in accuracy. And just so you know, travelling is also part of education. |

Nwaikpe: Nigerians are very funny. This is not an ECOWAS thing but an African thing.
The whole issue with airfare is just one problem: ELITISM Somehow, a class is trying so hard to protect their exclusivity. Flight was always seen as a luxury and reserved for the rich. But with the rise of income, it becomes accessible to the middle class. To preserve that exclusivity, a flight company in Nigeria, with the same aircraft and with the same fuel, that transports people from Heathrow to JFK at 30 euros, charges about 500 euros. This is very funny No Nigerian airline operates direct flights from London Heathrow to New York JFK and you know. When did you ever hear of Nigerian airlines running transatlantic routes when they cannot even maintain steady routes within Africa? And that " 30 euro" claim, not even the cheapest budget airlines in Europe offer that. A one-way ticket on that route won't be less than $250, convert it to euros and it still won't touch 200. So I don't know where that your fairy tale came from. Even bus rides across Lagos may cost more than the amount you are quoting for a whole transatlantic flight. And also, I still don't understand how you linked high taxes and fees to " preserving elitism". Apart from taxes, you should know that limited direct intra-African flights create monopolistic pricing, then add the high cost of aviation fuel, importing parts, relying on foreign engineers for maintenance, and so on. It is not about some class wanting to feel exclusive. Na basic economics. Sometimes, try to be rational. Analyze. Don't just blurt. |

Unlimitedwords: Governor Adeleke Joins Accord on a Wrong Footing: Legal and Political Risks Ahead
Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent move to join the Accord Party has generated intense debate, not because of the decision itself, but because of the faction he aligned with. The Accord Party, for months, has been deeply fractionalized, with Bar. Maxwell Ndubem and Prof. Chris Imumolen both laying claim to the national chairmanship.
In October 2024, the FCT High Court issued a clear judgment recognizing Prof. Chris Imumolen as the authentic National Chairman of the Accord Party. Despite this judicial pronouncement, INEC has yet to fully comply with the court’s order, creating a situation where two factions continue to operate in parallel.
Governor Adeleke reportedly joined the faction led by Bar. Maxwell Ndubem, a group considered by some as “recognized” by INEC, yet legally inferior in standing when compared to the court-backed leadership of Prof. Chris Imumolen. This puts Governor Adeleke's political move on shaky legal ground.
Analysts warn that this misalignment may carry serious political consequences. If unresolved, the discrepancy between the court-recognized leadership and the INEC-acknowledged faction may affect Governor Adeleke’s legitimacy within the Accord Party, potentially threatening his political calculations ahead of the 2027 elections.
For a governor seeking stability and a solid platform for re-election, joining a faction in defiance of a court ruling may prove to be a costly strategic error one capable of plaguing his hope of return to office in 2027 unless corrected promptly. Adeleke's dancing needs a step change, from the wrong footing to the right one. Politics is not choreography. |
