I think everything still boils down to corporate greed and avarice. They have a system where star players sell merchandise for the school, networks pay a fortune to air their games but the athletes themselves get nothing to keep the whole 'Amateur' charade alive.

I get that it provides free education and you can't put a price on that considering most of these athletes are inner city kids with zero shot of going to college if not for their athletic abilities But any system that pays everyone but the athlete (however small) is pure exploitation.

The first option is always the preferred option. I think the outcry now is due to the fact that the disparity is too wide (some coaches get 6-7 figures per annum)

The opinion is that since not everyone is going to be in the big leagues and a lot of student athletes are really majoring in courses that will probably have them struggle to get employment then let them get some form of compensation while still in school

Waiting till the entire continent is disease free is unrealistic. I believe once there is some sort of workable treatment/vaccine and the virus numbers plateau there is no reason the league shouldn't be completed.
