This is not even about defending the govt, shouldn’t the govt be making efforts to get ventilators anywhere they can get? Is it until we have a spike in cases before they start looking for ventilators?

The problem with critics is that you people conflate issues together.

It’s not like the $27bn loan was just considered today. When that loan package was drawn up, there was no covid-19 pandemic.

Go and read up the history of the loan. The initial loan FG sought approval for was $30bn from the Saraki led senate and only $7.3bn was approved from the loan. The rest were just reintroduced last year ending for consideration by the new senate.

Practically every doctors’ strike over the years has been met with opposition by the general public and even here on NL.

Doctors complained about not being properly trained, equipped, or remunerated for years but the narrative that the people loved to believe was that of the lazy and greedy Nigerian doctor.

Now we have neither the equipment nor the staff to respond if this pandemic sweeps us like it has done in Europe and America.
