benji93: The Rose situation and the current situation are not comparable at all. Not even remotely. The bulls led by Rose had a better record that the Heats led by Lebron with Wade and Bosh and you tell me Rose didn't deserver it. That fact alone made him a serious contender. This case is different. Giannis not only has a better record, he leads him in multiple categories too. Now if LAL takes over with the best record, as you suggested, then that's something worth considering. Lool don't mind these wind vane people. Anthony Davis is in their team leading the Lakers in 4 out of 5 statistical categories never mind defensive ratings but they are bringing up D.Rose who led the Bulls to the best record in the league with Carlos Boozer and Luol freaking Deng |

DeeMain: Never said it was beyond the court, bro.
Wasn't alluding directly to the Giannis-Lebron debate. To me either of them can take it. They are both deserving.
The Nash-Kobe metaphor was for you comparing the GOAT level displays of Lebron to the great level displays of Davis. I find it disrespectful to Lebron.
Two, it was for all the other times Lebron deserved MVP but it was given to some other because of a certain obscure narrative.
Also, forget what his fanboys or the media do or say, they are not him. Celebrate him while he lives. Then your argument is neither here nor there. We all know if LeBron had the best record in the league and put up Giannis's numbers we wouldn't even have an MVP argument so why isn't Giannis enjoying the same luxury. This is the hypocrisy in play here This is a massive joke. AD's arrival has transformed the Lakers from defensive jesters to defensive royalty. This man leads the Lakers in more stats than Bron. Stats that Fanboys swear is the be all and end all of all arguments so why are you lot not keeping the same energy? Anyway nothing new. Diminish the contributions of his teammates and elevate his, that's the M.O of you guys What other times did he deserve it that it was given to other players? If you're saying that about Bron then Jordan should also easily have won more than 5 MVPs Don't tell me what to do or what not to do. I'm not a fan of his but I've never disrespected him like Bronsexuals did to Kobe while he was alive so stop preaching to the choir mate |

Just like many crucify-Kobe and give-it-to-Nash merchants shedding crocodile tears and confessing Kobe's greatness and GOATness only after he passed, it will be alright someday. Don't be ridiculous. I'm not a hypocrite, my 'beef' with Bron does not extend beyond the court. Same way a Liverpool fan will not cheer for United or Sir Alex does not mean the respect for their accomplishments is not there. Your Nash, Kobe comparison is also off the mark considering Giannis's team doesn't just have the better record but he's higher in every statistical category but assists. Assists! That is the only thing he has done better than Giannis this year PS: I have never believed he was the GOAT, I don't now and I never will, however I have no qualms with anybody else's preferences. Anyone altering their opinions on Kobe just because of his tragic passing is merely playing to the gallery |

DeeMain: The same argument being used against Lebron fanboys can be used against any superstar or transcendent talent. Look at Ronaldo. Look at Messi. Look at MJ. Look at Kobe.
Sergio Ramos is only discussed as a footnote to the 5 champions league Madrid won, with Ronaldo as the centre of the fans' and media adulation and glory.
It doesn't matter what the other players contribute, the media and the fanboys will skew the narrative to focus on their superstar.
It is the way it is. Not right but this is reality. So don't make this about Lebron. Let's be fair. Don't liken oranges and tomatoes. With Messi, MJ, Ronaldo we clearly can see the best player in their respective teams. In this instance unlike other MVP wins we cannot conclusively say Bron is the best even in his own team and this is the crux of the argument |

benji93: You didn't mention blocks. 2.5 to 0.5. And stop talking as if he could score 50 points per game. He cannot, even if he wanted to. He leads him in multiple categories and that's it. Lebron didn't make the playoffs last season, although he had similar stats. Abeg leave these people that will always shift pivot like wind vane. Someone you cannot convincingly argue is the best player in his own team is who we should crown MVP. Giannis is 3-1 vs the Lakers and Clippers but let's give LeNomad MVP because of two games meanwhile he is 2-3 vs similar opposition. The recency bias is stinking |

I guess if LeBron returns to the East, it will be weak again and the Mvp must come from the tougher western conference
#Smh
#Hypocrisy
#thehateisreal But he won 4 MVPs playing in the East. Una hypocrisy no be for here. When he won it with the Heat nobody complained Giannis was leading an unfancied team to the best record in the league back to back just like LeBron did back in 2009, 2010 he won the MVPs and nobody complained about conference strength. The same people that claimed Steph and KD should cancel themselves out in any MVP competition are singing different tune with Bron and Anthony Davis |

chic2pimp: Shorter break where? Seeing as bar a couple of players the Azzuri squad is made up of players who ply their trade in Serie A, no way are they going to do anything that threatens their chances of having a good outing at the Euros. A shortened Serie A season is your most likely bet.
Things should warm a bit but not much. Liverpool are basically Champions anyways so that settles that. The Relegation battle is the troublesome bit. Fair enough. There are 12-13 games left. Depending on how Italian teams fare in Europe they will have to play more games on weekdays. However what's more pertinent to note is Rome is a host city at the Euros too. It's very possible that tournament gets postponed This year has really been calamitous thus far |

Ibime: Serie A suspended for one month. I don't think they'll be able to complete their league season, or they will declare on 30 games and call the season complete with no relegation. They way Coronavirus is expanding in UK, EPL may just about reach 38 games with the last 4 or 5 played indoors. It depends. They will have to hurry it up perhaps and then a shorter break for the Euros. I doubt that they complete the entire 38 games though As for England aren't there like 9 games left? I think they can wing it if it doesn't worsen. I heard the virus can't stand heat and so probably things should improve as the weather gets warmer |

etidy: You see my problem with players like Beal is 1. They are never held to the standards of winners like steph, Lebron, Durant by everyone yet they want to be accorded the same glory 2.They are always the one crying that the league is stacked against them aka cj mccollum fc Always whining about not making all stars and all NBA 3. It's okay to be loyal but the proof of loyalty to me is sacrifice. Nowitzki, Duncan, Parker and Co embodied this. They took pay cut and lesser roles on their team to see it thrive.
But you take a huge contract on a bad team that's already handicapped and you're telling me you care about winning and loyalty. Nah! You only care about money. The likes of Beal and Lillard have probably accepted they will never be Tier 1 first ballot Hall of Famers although the Basketball Hall of Fame is easily the easiest to get into so they probably still have a shot regardless. Fans will never be put them in the same light as Steph, KD, Bron and they are paid too much money to care tbvh The likes of Duncan got full rewards for their sacrifices but you could argue that Nowitzki didn't, you can take lesser pay and your GM and organization doesn't get the required talent to compete. That would be a lose-lose. In a way I can sympathize with some of these B-Tier stars because the truth is everybody will not be a champion |

BlueAngel444: Lucas Hernandez earns €250k per week Goretzka and Coman earn €160k per week
Offering Odoi €200k as their last offer on the hope to sign him for free and likely for more than a 5year deal, 6 or 7 like the case of kepa is very possible.
Besides Bayern is not on a cheap wage structure.
The same player they were willing to pay 40m for and offer number 10 shirt, well it was probably not up to €200k maybe around 120 150k, but still insane Lucas is a World Cup winner. Goretzka and Coman have been playing first team football all over Europe for over 4 seasons. No way Bayern pays €150k to Odoi never mind €200k. Atletico paid over €100m for Joao Felix and he has less than 3 seasons of top flight footie so €40m is not a lot in the grand scheme of things |

He wants to do like Odoi and wait till summer so that incoming offers will push up what Chelsea is offering.
I read that Odoi was offered close to 200k per week by Bayern, BBC reports that Odoi earns 120k going up to 150k based on performance related bonuses. Mad o Lol Bayern pay an 18 year old €200k? Absolute Lamba |

etidy: That's the cost of a title "Sacrifice" and "Humility". LeBron had to learn what it took to win from wade and Riley. Then you have clowns like Lillard and Beal trying to be the one eyed man in the land of the blind.
I see Anthony picking LeBron's brain and then going on to blossom.
There is a beast in that man, the guy gave golden state fits in his only playoff series. He nearly averaged 40 points Well I wouldn't bash Lillard and Beal so much for wanting to be loyal to one team. The truth is there can only be one champion any given year. And I don't think free agents are queuing to go to Portland, however maybe if they took a little less money maybe they are able to surround the team with just a little more talent to be able to compete Beal's decision to stay in DC I find a little more puzzling. He knows fully well that John Wall at 30 missing two years of basketball and with a huge salary will probably severely hamper the Wizards chances at a fair chance of competing, but he wants a team built around him. With what?? If he wants to waste his prime years though. Who am I to cry more than the bereaved? Anyway let's see how the Lakers go from here. I know most of these players all have egos and when you start winning and not getting your due props saltiness can happen as we saw with Kyrie. You will see how fast humility flies out the window |

nihilistjnr: I had chance encounter with a member of their spurs nutrition team not to long ago.
The gist of the matter as I understand it is that: ndombele was severely overweight when he was signed.
He has a cook.
His cook and the nutrition team dey coordinate on meal plans and timings.
Ndombele just does what he wants and eats what he wants.
He has responded a little to the spurs efforts to get him to lose weight...but only a little.
Ndombele has no idea how to go to the shops to do his groceries, he wouldn't know how to start sef.
Ndombele is generally a nice guy, if a little bit immature. But I recall Ndombele started pretty well. Maybe he is dealing with woman issues or something. I see a guy who is really out of shape and can barely move around the pitch for a 30mins span. When your box to box midfielder can't do that then every other thing flies out the window |

Roland17: We seem to be looking at this issue from different lenses. You are looking at it from Ndombele’s lack of physical conditioning, @afrodoc and ibime are looking at it from a technical/ skill level but I am looking at it from the man management angle and the possibility of disrupting the locker room. Don’t get me wrong, Ndombele may be short with his conditioning and may just be a level above Bakayoko when it comes to his skill/ technique but calling him out to the press after a loss? Now that counter productive. I wonder what D. Levy is thinking knowing Ndombele is his record signing. Mourinho is merely echoing the opinions of most Spurs fans. I am sure if he were doing the bare minimum Mourinho will not call him out like that. As a paying customer who knows how hard he works to be able to afford your favorite team play you would be very annoyed to see a player who your team broke the bank to sign not be able to keep himself in playing shape, his lack of skill and technique is forgivable if the effort is there. For now he is simply not doing anything to get any type of playing time |
