Well Rummenigge denied the rumor. I can see arguments for both sides. Signing him early means tells the player we really like him and plan long term with him, so he can settle his mind and his family here for long.
Not signing him, is prudent for the club to wait for next season see if he gells with the new coach before commiting also we can at the end of 2yrs loan sign him for 4-5yrs making him stay with us a total of 6-7yrs
Ideally I'd wait till the end of next season and give him a 3-4 year deal. By that time he would be 31/32 and we could take it from there.
Can't rule out a new coach coming in to change dynamics but I would have no qualms with the club choosing to extend him now. His performance vs Dortmund really showed me he wants to be here, son ran himself to the ground and looked like he could keep running

I don't know if Thiago would be a fan though. Hames is like the new bride and since he arrived it's like nobody really send am again

He was on the bench vs Dortmund and would likely be on the bench today if Vidal is fit

What of Azpi? How many brainfarts has he made this season?

It is only when midfield has collapsed that we start focussing on individual defenders mistakes. Azpi must have made 5 or more this season. We didn't see any last season. Chris was best defender in Bundesliga last season.

Combined fee i reported to be 55M Euros. About the same amount paid for Siggurdson
Why not let him play out the second year like we did with Coman? I no too like this kin Bebeto deal but anyway the board knows best. He's been a steal thus far

MitrikDenholm:
LOL you're being facitous. And are we judging fighters based on their skill or whether or not they have a belt around their waist?
Based on any criteria AJ has fought better fighters over the course of their respective careers. This is sacrosanct.

MitrikDenholm:
The quality gap between their opponents does not require a bridge and like i said, it's not on Wilders head what his opponents choose to do.
I'm pretty much saying the quality of opponents Deontay has faced is why I'm not alarmed about AJ's chances and it's why I don't believe he is invincible like you are trying to propagate

MitrikDenholm:
LOL how do you expect me to keep up with every weird European name in boxing? Point is he was good.
You would know him if he was worth a damn. You're a boxing fan

MitrikDenholm:
Bellew is right, wilder is relatively unknown but his name is on the rise and will explode once he destroys popeye. And Bellew has been d ick riding AJ for a while now.
I've not seen any American that is not deek riding Deontay either. It's low key a British vs America thing.

MitrikDenholm:
I am not saying I expect it, I'm saying I won't be surprised if it happened. That's just the unpredictability of wilder, and power punchers, they can end a fight with one punch.
Douglas v Tyson and Rahman v Lewis brought even bigger surprises. Anything can happen in boxing. My confidence with AJ is he's a more polished guy who possesses more power than anything Deontay has ever faced

MitrikDenholm:
Nope. This is the time for AJ Wilder, no more excuses for both camps.
It's time for whoever the promoters say it's time for. The fight would happen this I know for sure

MitrikDenholm:
Wilder has publicly stated he'll accept 40 (still a little high IMO, Lol) but should be fair enough since AJ will get to satisfy his "unification ambition".
I frankly don't think he deserves more than 30-35% to be perfectly honest. Who are Deontay's reps? Do you even know them? You have to admit the guy is all over the place just like his fighting

MitrikDenholm:
AJ will do well to keep a distance from deontay and those dumbbells he eats with.
[/quote

[quote author=MitrikDenholm post=66353709]Stop judging their performance against the same opponent, you know better than that.
But you were judging on his fight against Parker so?

MitrikDenholm:
And wilders chin is way better than AJs from what I can see.
Eric Molina fought both men. I don't think he agrees with you

MitrikDenholm:
Lol. Yes, Mike Tyson and his "eating babies" statement, what did chisora say?

Still, there's no place for that kind of talk. Especially not now. That persona doesn't sell anymore.
The brawl with David Haye after the Klitschko fight. Spitting water in Vitali's face at their face off

MitrikDenholm:
Then they should meet half way, I reckon wilder is willing to be the B side, the problem is popeyes people keep trying to pit him against Whyte without Popeye in the contract.

Naah man, it's up to Popeye and that wan ker to stop ducking and make this happen.
Money and location I believe is still the major sore point rn

LOL A forty one year old battered Klitschko coming off an 18 month layoff and a loss doesn't count as Klitschko. Ortiz is more technically sound than all the fighters on AJs resume. His body of work is just as padded as Wilders, Fury's too I suppose. It's the heavyweight division, they're mostly bums.
A 50 year old Klitschko is better than anyone Deontay has fought living or dead including Ortiz. Good as he might be has never had a strap round his waist. It's unfortunate he is from Cuba but it is what it is..

The point is AJ has fought better fighters in his shorter career. Bare facts..

Boxing is not math but based on their mutual opponent AJ was much better. Facts

MitrikDenholm:
And how is it Wilders fault that more solid opponents like povetkin and that polish guy failed drug tests because they felt they needed to cheat to win? Heck didn't Ortiz also fail a drug tests before wilder going on to fight him anyway later on?

That Polish guy? You don't even know his name. Lmaooooo my point exactly.. Just like Tony Bellew was trying to say.

MitrikDenholm:
Look at the big picture, how much do they stand to lose in the long run of wilder makes light work of him and slaps him around? The hype is gone, the excitement is gone.
I actually like Deontay. He's a very entertaining champion and fun to watch but that you think Deontay would make light work of AJ is laughable to put it mildly

MitrikDenholm:
LOL then he should stop saying Wilder is fucking Joshua, hearns the one who doesn't want the fight. He'd rather wilder fights Whyte.
Nothing wrong with Wilder fighting Whyte. I heard AJ might take on Big Baby Miller who is a credible opponent if you ask me. I also heard Wilder wants a 50/50 purse. If true he must be on crack

MitrikDenholm:
Wilder can play it however he wants to. He can keep him at bay with his jabs like he normally does, either way, Wilders a predator who just needs one chance which based on Joshua's previous fights he's definitely going to get. And his left takes people too BTW. Ask Washington.
Keep AJ at bay? Loool OK. You think he is that Haitian Wasteman Stiverne? No be the same Wilder wey fight Molina or are you talking about another Wilder? Lol I like Wilder but this hype is getting out of hand. His defense is average. His chin is suspect

MitrikDenholm:
The whole windmill thing is overstated and is just a myth people like to throw about. He may lack some fundamentals but he bides his time and only throws windmills when notices that his opponent is hurt.
His hand speed is topnotch I give him that but he leaves himself so open all AJ needs is an uppercut.

MitrikDenholm:
19 of Wilders previous fights ended in the first round, just saying. He needs one chance and it's sweet dreams Popeye.
But he needed 8 rounds to struggle and beat the Molina AJ was able to beat in 3

MitrikDenholm:
Yuup. Agreed. He however needs to be more careful with his utterances. What he said was too crude.

BTW your man hearn is saying he's trying to set up another fight for AJ before wilder. Like I said, milking his cow.

https://www.boxingscene.com/hearn-we-get-away-with-one-more-wilder-probably--126774

Man's already making excuses.
Mike Tyson said more than that. That bum Chisora is even worse. That's just the persona Deontay is trying to build, every fighter cannot be a gentleman in the end.

Well if Deontay is not willing to be reasonable and go along with the demands of AJ and his team then AJ might as well get busy..

The fight would hold but its up to your boy to be realistic

Of course either fighter can get knocked out and BTW that was the shittiest call out I've ever seen. From the looks of things AJ wants the fight but Eddie Hearn doesn't want him to have it. When they mentioned Wilders name at first he avoided bringing him up and just spoke of unification ambitions.

Then when they asked him who he wanted he said wilder or fury and that it's up to hearn Al haymon his trainer etc to make it happen.
A call out is a call out. No unnecessary style points needed for that.

AJ has taken out better fighters than Wilder. He's beaten 4 of the top 10 heavyweights and that's excluding Klitschko. Same can't really be said for Deontay

So I doubt they look at Deontay as a guy AJ can't beat. It's a risky fight but one that has to be made anyway. There's too much money at stake for it not to happen especially with a potential sequel depending on how the fight goes.

MitrikDenholm:
Then they asked him what he would say to wilder and he somehow brought dilian up.

The way I see it, he wants wilder but Eddie has a contingency plan somehow. But there'll be no hiding place for him.
I don't see any issues with bringing out your client who so just happens to be the #1 contender for Wilder's belt

MitrikDenholm:
Here's why AJ won't survive with Wilder, first of all he won't have that reach advantage he enjoys because wilder is taller than him and has a longer reach. He is very stiff with his Popeye muscles and at some point wilder will break through his defence with his reach if he tries to do what he did today. And with wilder all he needs is one punch. I swear I won't even be surprised if the match on lasted one round or a couple of rounds. Your man was exposed tonight.
And this is where AJ's stronger inside game potentially comes to play, AJ is arguably better with guys his size based on what I've seen thus far. It's either he stays with the jab or goes inside

And unlike Deontay who needs to swing his hands like a helicopter all AJ needs is an uppercut or two on Deontay's suspect chin. Bear in mind he can generate such blows in a New York minute and If Molina could wobble him then I like AJ's odds.

One round? Lol Wilder would do well not to charge at AJ like a wild rhino like he did with Stiverne. O lewu it's very dangerous
MitrikDenholm:
As for wilder saying he wants a body, I watched the full video and I think he got carried away because that's a very provocative thing to say. I remember after the szpilka fight he said "we risk our lives for your entertainment", he understands that and he should remain true to that. He doesn't need to say outrageous things to sell a fight.
I think it was just Wilder being his usual OTT self. These guys always look visibly shook when they hurt someone else to the point where they need to be stretchered out. I really don't think Wilder meant that literally. I've heard him say he prays for victory and for the guy he fights to be able to go back to his family, I think he was just applying shock value

A tall man with a good jab will always dull a shorter man's attempt to go for broke by keeping him away with the jab. I'm surprised AJ did not use the jab more sef. No point risking a trade-off with a short dude with stronger jaw who will prefer a scrap.
That was Lennox Lewis's bread and butter I believe. I was underwhelmed a bit by AJ but as a smart heavyweight you need to avoid unnecessary scraps if you can.

It's really funny though to see American fans (I wouldn't say boxing fans cos they know nothing about boxing) suggest the fight was a draw or Parker was robbed and Deontay would murk him. They don't realize AJ handles really well with guys his size and thereabouts. Plus what this fight should remind people (myself included) is that no two fights are alike

Wilder says when he's the bronze bomber and is in the ring he has no control over what's happening and he could/wants to kill a man but that's not who deontay wilder is. I believe him because I remember he almost killed Szpilka in the ring but was visibly concerned for his health after the fight was over. He has a true case of split personality disorder, hes a sociopath and part of why Popeye wants nothing to do with him.
People get too easily triggered these days. It's pretty obvious he didn't mean that literally.

AJ has officially called out Wilder. If Deontay is serious London or Cardiff is where its at for heavyweight boxing today so he needs to dead that Vegas talk.

MitrikDenholm:
Lol. When the ref just kept separating them to ensure Parker doesn't maintain any pressure on AJ was disgusting and made it a complete bore fest. Plus the judges scores were a little over exaggerated but I agree AJ won convincingly.

However, he looked very ordinary, basic movement and technique. At least he didn't completely gas out this time and showed some endurance. if hes going beat wilder he needs boxing skills and from what I see today he doesn't have enough of it, not even on Ortiz's level at his prime.

Of course wilder will need to knock him out for a myriad of reasons but I have no doubt in my mind that Popeye will go down faster than a plate of fried chicken (pun intended).
Loool bruh Parker needed the ref's help more than AJ did.

I don't know what fireworks you guys were expecting. Parker knew his limitations and stuck to his game plan. I was a bit disappointed with AJ's inside game which was a complete no-show. AJ ate some punches today too and it got me thinking maybe his chin is not so bad after all. His corner men were just borderline comical with their incompetence but for me the ref was a crying disgrace

Maybe the margin should have been closer but still an easy UD if you ask me. Parker is a solid fighter and I'm pretty sure even Deontay wouldn't have knocked him out tonight..

AJ would be fine if he stays away from that right. Deontay's defense is very suspect so I'm not the least bit worried. If AJ lands flush Deontay would fall easy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by A40(m): 12:56am On Apr 01, 2018
The ref was terrible! Lai se rap battle! Allow these guys fight FFS

I don't know if people expected Parker to just roll over and die. He's Samoan and those ninjas are tough. I don't know if Deontay can evade blows like Parker did but clearly this wasn't AJ's best fight. Still I think it was a relatively easy win

How does AJ look gassed by the 5th round but somehow manages to regain stamina by the 9th round and later. It's incredible really
