Look I have been in this game long enough to know there is a lot of luck involved in betting. Statistically a betting company can never lose, They already edge their bets with the odds they issued. So the foolishness is actually in putting your money in it. I am talking as someone who have won a lot infact a third of the money that bought my first car in Yankee was from a winning stake.

E.g Barcelona vs Granada Barcelona 1.01, draw 5 Granada 10. How would you stake your money? Put $100 on Barcelona you only win $1 back.

Personal story I started betting like 2007, I introduced one of my friends to it who was also on Nairaland. we drew all form of models analysis, excel sheets searched for games in Eastern Europe and South America but we were still losing more

An example I did an in game betting 77th min 2010 world cup Ghana vs Serbia the game was still 0-0 staked $200 on game ending in a draw, From gameplay, Both teams had settled for the draw as they didnt want to lose. last 5 mins an weed smoking Serbian player from a non dangerous move handled the ball in the box and Asamoah Gyan buried the PK. Money gone!!

Another 5 game accumulator and guess what Bayern was the only team who didnt beat Freiburg at home(One of the 5 games all season we didnt pick full points). Money gone.

After a while me and this friend decided it would be better to be on the other side. Due to logistics I pulled out(I dey school for Yankee, I no fit invest that much money and not be on ground where the thing dey go down). he did the platform, got the software he has a website and several shops where they take stakes and he is now a very rich man in Naija.

Then Lagos state licensing fees for betting companies was like 5Million then, last I heard(3yrs ago) its like 40M and companies are still paying it. Why because they know its one of the most lucrative business you can ever run, Chances of losing is slim. A professor from Booth I met in an unofficial setting once told me that if you are from a country where betting is legal, Its one of the surest business.
Akina1abi that owns Nairabet is a NL member, that used to put stakes for me vs coogar to predict on this forum, see as the guy dey ball now, he even contested for house of rep last year

Baba Ijebu wey you dey see so, I know the firm that handles their business and if you know how much their turnover is? This is Baba Ijebu that 90% of his patrons live in face me I face you and can barely afford $1 meals a day

The best advise is if you must be involved in betting, be the guy that takes stakes not the one who stakes
This is true. But we wey never fit take the stakes how we wan take do am? I no be O.G like you, didn't start till like 2014 and I lose money well well going for so-called 'sure bankers' and what I call Captain Obvious bets, wetin Dortmund take my oju see that 2014/2015 enu o le royin. I learned eventually and started putting money on the longshots. Also studied certain patterns, e.g Barca at Sociedad na sara point. Last time out I put 3k and won 17, Last EPL game of the season went for B.T.T.S picked 6 games 1k brought out 29. While the BuLi was on I recalled our scoring drought and went for the under option. It was too easy. This Euros are another example. Ronaldo, Zlatan, Mueller, Morata, Rooney not to score

Just thinking out of the box has really helped me a lot

A40 hope you havent lost hope ooo....We have seen these suitations before during the season and playoffs. We do well in tight corner suitations. My guts tell me we got this on sunday.
Its not over till the buzzer sounds. The Warriors have not lost 3 all year. The role players are due a big game and Steph and Draymond still have statements to make

I hope they are quicker off the blocks. This game can be ended as early as the 1st quarter if the Warriors execute and play to their capabilities

The West was the weaker Conference in most of Malone's era yet he could only boast of two Finals. At least Hakeem took advantage of M.J's absence and won two rings. Malone did nada

Dirk has a Finals MVP and a regular season MVP so I'm at a loss as to how its crazy to compare him with Malone

Roland17:
You made a very point with your post, Poor officiating is not exactly the reason why the Warriors lost tonight. I think Lue and the Cavs have shown the NBA 2 ways to defeat the Warriors.

Force Curry to play defense. I think more than anything, this series has exposed Curry's vulnerabilities defensively, he is struggling and this is grossly affecting his confidence offensively as witnessed with the ridiculous number of turnovers he has churned out this series.
I agree but I'd want to add that Curry is a capable defender when he wants to be. It flies under the radar so much that players don't notice till they look at their numbers when he is guarding them

However he has been lazy this series. With the passes and with his reaches, He tweets #LockedIn before most games begin but he isn't usually locked in till much later in the game. That would not cut it against these guys. Part of being a great player is knowing what each game needs at any point in time. Every game needs a different approach. You can always rebound, facilitate, cause turnovers when your shot is not falling. He picked up two lazy fouls to start the game. Greats don't do that. He needs to seize the moment, adjust on the fly if need be. He is their leader and needs to play like it

Roland17:
The Cavs are forcing a switch at the top of the pick and roll and having Curry defend the ball handler (Lebron) in most cases, while Iggy is carried away by other Cav player. This is where Lue has shown intelligence in contrast to Blatt, Lue has studied the Warriors and is making some adjustments which are worthy of note.
Funny enough Steph handled LeBron's physicality very well in Game 4. Infact till the 2nd half might I say 4th quarter of Game 5 the Warriors were doing really well. There are a lot of things the Warriors didn't do right but sometimes you just have to applaud the other team. Lue made adjustments no doubt but when Kyrie is making almost 80% contested shots while Barnes is missing 8-10 uncontested shots, role players like Shaun Livingston who excelled in Game 1 starts bricking abysmally what really can you do?

At some point you have to execute. Doc Rivers or was it JVG that said its a make or miss league

Roland17:
The magic player and dark horse for me has been T. Thompson, dude has been dominating the glass and again, this is where i credit Lue, he has not panicked when the Warriors start small or revert to small ball, he has kept faith with Thompson and Thompson has had very clean game, staying out of foul trouble, we saw what happened when he was in foul trouble in game 4.
Thompson has impressed the last two games. The Warriors technically have no answer for him because its tough to create a defensive gameplan around Tristan Thompson. Bar Ezeli and Green they really don't have anybody that can guard him

Roland17:
On the other hand, has anyone noticed the Warriors do not have a plan B? after consecutive losses, irrespective of suspensions and injuries, i am beginning to question Steve Kerr. apart from small ball, what is his plan B? how is he mitigating the trap set for Curry on the pick and roll offensively and defensively?
This is really where Kerr errs the most for me. He sees the play so often and has yet to come up with an adjustment to neutralize it. LeBron seems to have solved the Iguodala puzzle. Kerr hasn't

Roland17:
I always say the playoff's is all about adjustments and T. Lue and his coaching crew deserve a lot of credit, i don't think the last 2 losses has been about what the Warriors are not doing, i strongly believe its been about the adjustments the Cavs have made and what they are doing right, especially with Curry and perimeter defense.
Hard to disagree but just look at how LeBron is playing. If the Warriors had someone matching his intensity on either end of the floor the series would have been over. What I find the most infuriating is the fact that I have seen teams with less talent at the wing defend and limit LeBron effectively. How is it that a team with at least 3 players that can do that is still failing so badly at it

Roland17:
The Warriors are struggling emotionally, they seem to be relying on probabilities here and that has cost them 2 games, game 7 would be deadly.

#greenrunsdeep
They just need one big game. If they could push through injuries, fatigue for 73-9 I'd like to believe they can go even further with more at stake

Quick question guys...

Before you place your bets at Nairabet or Bet9ja or what not, what si your research process?

Do you just pick bets on a hunch?

Do you check sure banker websites?

Do you ask an albino to rub his testicles all over your face for good luck?

What's your process start to finish?

And steve kerr must be fined for saying its ok for curry to throw the mouth guard at the fans and for criticizing the refs publicly on press
Lmaoo fans always whine that is normal, even Cavs fans did it last year but when the coach and so-called King chats megedefegede like I played 46 mins and only went to the line 4 times then there is a problem.

Some Excuses make me laugh so hard. Bulls player will never disrespect michael jordan, for a whole taj gibson to refer to lebron james publicly as michael jordan of our generation, he surely knows what he is saying.
I feel when rating the top 5, lebron has to be there, who won a ring without any help, m.j had pippen and rodman, k.G had rondo nd pierce, Kobe had the best players in his team, but lebron took his whole team all by himself, this is what I call geeatness. We cant say that klove and irving hlp lebron, I might still put irving but not klove, cause hes been cooking in this finals.
When warriors won the ring last season, we were told to stop b!tch!ng about an incomplete team, now all excuses, draymond got supended, bogut and iggy out and sh!t.

Blaming the refs is the oldest excuse in the BOOK
LeFlop and his coach started with the blaming of refs

The one with the clean steal on Kyrie and the flop by LeWhine were particularly disgraceful. I have never understood why players and coaches are fined for another man's incompetence

The Cavs were winning anyway so I don't know why Phillips didn't call the game down the middle

Raiola has earned himself a bad reputation over the years given how he whores his client from club to club to earn his commission but Mendes is even more than that. He owns some percentage of certain players and sells flops. When Fergie got too close to him, United ended up with Bebe who Fergie later admitted he never saw play. He has some good players on his list though and gave us successes like Ronaldo, Nani and Anderson(who later flopped). The key is not to get too close with him because he can be quite handy.
Its like dining with the devil tbh. His players are usually more trouble than they are worth and unless they are at Madrid or Barca you pretty much have a ticking timebomb on your hands. I'm still observing this Renato wey we just buy. This is Bayern sha so Mendes better understand he cannot do anyhow

GBR1:
It could be or not. He was the best player in the Ukrainian league before heading to Dortmund but Klopp just couldn't get him to work and he spent some valuable time being injured. It's all subjective and debatable.
I don't think Klopp was the one making him miss those one on ones that earned him the name Missitaryan. He was the architect of his own misfortune or maybe he was just slow at adjusting. Douglas Costa also came from Ukraine

GBR1:
He's in the last year of his contract and wants to move. If Dortmund plays hardball and refuses to sell at a decent, he could sign a pre-contract with another club in January and leave at the end of the season with Dortmund getting nothing. Another thing is not all players are professional like Lewandoski who is like a modern day mercenary and could still deliver on the pitch with issues like that hanging in air during his last season at Dortmund and Mikhi seems to be very sensitive and i doubt he would deliver a respectable level of performance if he doesn't get his wish move. It's not looking very good for Dortmund here and that's why anything above 30 is paying over the odds but i won't be surprised if United get ripped off.
Dortmund are flush with cash. Most of their signings have been cheap and at a bargain. If keeping Mikhi for another season would help them qualify then so be it. If not they at least make a statement. Anything less than €30m is an insult as they might still need to spend exactly that to get a ready made replacement either way
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by A40(m): 5:19pm On Jun 16, 2016
GBR1:
I think Raiola deserves more credit than that though he's obviously not in the same league as Mendes. Dortmund is a selling club, it's the reality. I know he arrived at Dortmund through a big money move from Shaktar and even when his performances were underwhelming, Dormund couldn't get him to commit to a new contract or even now because the wages are never gonna be big enough compared to what Bayern pays or some PL club would. I would not say he's exactly a mediocre player but his mentality is questionable and consistency over the years unreliable. He was poor in Klopp's system but Tuchel finally got him fit and firing. He alongside Aubameyang were Dortmund's most important attacking players last season and that's something.
Dortmund currently is a cut above almost all Bundesliga club but there's a staggering disparity between Dortmund's revenue and Bayern. That's the reality and why this keeps happening to them. I hope United get him for the right price.
I'm particularly wary of Raiola and Mendes players I think you should too especially with your experience with Di Maria and even now with De Gea. These guys create turmoil at clubs either to get them transfers or to get them a significant payrise.

Mkhitaryan is all of a sudden too good for Dortmund after one decent season. I never tagged him to be a mediocre but prior to last season I would say he was well on his way to being one of the biggest flops in Bundesliga history. For all we know last season might have been a fluke

If he is adamant on not extending and missing out on CL football I hope Dortmund can get €35-40m on him

His agent is Mino Raiola a poor man's Jorge Mendes. Its unfortunate because Mkhitaryan affectionately tagged Missitariyan prior to the previous season would largely have been tagged a flop at Dortmund. One good season and all of a sudden he thinks his client is too good for Dortmund

Take for example, if a player like pogba happens to be available today, and clubs like Bayern,Madrid and barca are interested to sign him alongside CFC,do you think he will ever choose cfc ahead of any of those three? Kindly note that I am not against signing proven players however, with our present status of mediocrity,it will cost us crazy loads of money to get them to come play for CFC. And,from our recent patterns of signing players, I seriously doubt we have that sort of cash to splash.

Lets be honest and give credit where and when it is due. Lebron had one hell of a game last night, he was on BEAST mode and i don't exactly think green's presence on the court would have changed Lebron's mentality in that game. He simply went for jugulars (lower his shoulder and breeze to the rim) and it was barbecue chicken for him.
I balance watch that game again and tbvh LeBron and especially Kyrie made a lot of contested shots. It was ridiculous at a point. Warriors were missing open shots while the Cavs were making contested ones. It really didn't make any sense. When JVG says its a make or miss league last night's game encapsulates it

Roland17:
Warriors and Kerr made a huge mistake by allowing Lebron steam hot with his jumpers, after he made 2 consecutive 3's they should have made adjustments and force the ball away from him, Kerr was playing percentages on Lebron and he consequently could not miss, which is one fearful thing about shooting, it brings confidence.
Lol the disrespect for the guys jumper was too much and the thing is even a broken clock is right twice a day. Iggy literally sagged off him twice and the net just became an ocean

Roland17:
Apart from game 4, Curry has been abysmal in this series, he went 8-21 (FGA/M) 5-15 (3PA/M), 4 turn overs which was the highest amongst his team mates and a mere 4 assist last night. Credit to Lue and the Cavs for the adjustment they have made on Curry, they are punishing (Physical) him on the pick and roll and i think the referees have been turning a blind eye on some ridiculous fouls on Curry this series, however, he has to figure out a way to escape the double team and that is by passing the ball and finding the open man or just like clay, slip out of the pick and roll for some space to shoot.

Green is an inevitable piece in what the warriors do on both ends of the court, infact, Green defines their small ball, he is a match up nightmare. His return would be huge for them.
This is where the Draymond suspension hurt the Warriors most, not just because he is their livewire defensively but because of his epic pick and roll chemistry with Steph the screens he sets and the matchup nightmare he is for other defenders. Plus them transition buckets which are a staple of their offense

The Warriors should not overreact. The Cavs would be the ones playing with all the emotion they just have to play with poise. Championship poise. At times it is easier to close out a series on the road
