SmooshCHN: OK, I agree to an extent and he definitely needs great improvement which he's been doing. I hope you understand the team's problem is beyond Waiters. You definitely cannot compare GSW or Spurs bench with OKCs'. This, each player's peak performance, team chemistry and Coaching are what a championship team needs which OKC is dealing with quite good to an extent compared to last season except its Bench. And Waiters is a big reason why the Thunder don't have a good bench. He's a 4th pick in his 4th year which means he should by now in a relatively young team be starting not underwhelming even from the bench |

Eruditor: Raphael Honigstein said Pep said he would stay at the beginning of the season, but then changed his mind mid-way. If you know Pep, you'd know he can be like that. He did exactly that to Barca after they had crashed out to CFC at the semis of the UCL in 2012. Well Bayern don't play that megedefegede. I don't need to tell you the difference in mannerisms btw a German and a Latin ninja. Had to lineup the replacement ASAP Eruditor: And nobody is saying he is irreplaceable but I am sure every important person in Munchen wanted him to stay. You don't just want a manager that does well but one that fully identifies with the values of your club, such that even when he is at loggerheads with the management, the disagreement doesn't filter through to the pages of tabloids and press interviews as some managers are renowned for *cough cough* Of course we were open to an extension and made sure he lacked nothing. Even took his side at the expense of our longstanding physio. Has he repaid that? Not quite. Though we are indifferent because bigger managers have coached Bayern Eruditor: As for Mandzukic and ATM. I think it is safe to assume that if he did well enough Simeone would have kept him. And also saying that he is "doing well" in Juventus is subjective. There are some other players that you let go of not because of their talent but more about their attitude and personality. Mandzukic reminds of a Gallas or Balotelli. Mandzukic did well at Atleti. He suffered injuries but definitely didn't flop. I have told you before a guy like Mandzukic needs service to thrive. He is an old school #9. Both seasons at Bayern he netted over 20goals each. Mandzu is nothing like Gallas or Balotelli. This is a serious exaggeration! How come he had no issues with Jupp? Eruditor: Jupp took on Mou's Madrid and beat them on penalties. If he had died before the final, many would have sworn that he would have beaten CFC. He lost to a largely underwhelming CFC. Personally, losing to CFC should hurt more than losing to RM or Barca ( I am sure you agree). So it can be spun either ways. Underwhelming but they beat you the defending champions convincingly despite going a man down and two goals down just 20mins into the game. Ok!!! At the start of the 2011/2012 season show me who would predict Bayern getting to a CL Final. Losing at home would always sting a bit more but we were unlucky not outclassed and made to look incompetent like we did under Pep. We had never lost at home to Madrid, I would always hold that against Pep The core of that team went on to win the WC that summer proving they were not the problem but Pep's tactics were Eruditor: RM beat counter-attacking teams like Dortmund 3-0, ATM 4-1 enroute to winning the UCL. So Jupp's counter-attacking brand of football may have (and I dare say most likely would have) suffered similar fate. Winning one of the legs is only mathematical as the ends is what should justify the means. As for Barca of last season, you saw what Messi did to Neuer and Boateng. It happens. Dortmund lost 3-2 not 3-0. Don't deliberately misrepresent facts. And no disrespect to Atleti or Dortmund but we are superior to both teams. Jupp's teams were also possesion based, infact Madrid would have been the ones needing to counter. The difference being we would not see those crazy highlines and a complete disregard of defensive duties. We also saw this same Messi tamed by a Boateng led defence that was not why we lost the tie |

SmooshCHN: Most Shooting Guard struggle with defence. OKC has great start line ups but weak bench in contrast to spurs or golden state. No point guard can replace Westbrook in OKC or SF can replace KD and still put up same numbers. Waiters with a 3yr nba experience isn't the problem of the team and he's definitely improving his game. Waiters is incompetent on defense flat out plus this is his 4th year. There are a lot of good defenders at SG (Klay Thompson, Danny Green, Jimmy Butler, Avery Bradley old school Kobe, Dwyane Wade) all the names aside there is no valid excuse for Waiters. And i'm basically telling you a guy like him is why OKC can't contend with GS and San Antone. When Durant went down last season what was Waiter's contribution? It was Westbrook and Kanter that kept them in the hunt. Little wonder OKC extended Kanter and allowed Waiter go into free agency |

Eruditor: Bayern FC is a big club but let's get it straight. If a manager is offered the best contract ever by any manager, is expected to declare his acceptance during the annual general meeting, but he is dragging feet- it is clear he is not going to stay. I think we read his body language from the start of the season. The last minute extensions were simply never going to fly with us and the same way Pep arrived due to Jupp’s initial indecision is what brought Carlo to Bayern as well. Pep should have made his decision at the start of the season. Simple as that! While fans and certain figures have spoken up against Pep the guys that matter have backed him completely he wasn’t upfront and that's the only sour note. Pep is not irreplaceable Eruditor: So Bayern did the right thing by seeking a plan B. He wasn't being egotistical or what not. It is clear he wanted to deliver the UCL and then leave on a high. But in doing that he knew that announcing he was going, could add extra pressure on him to deliver the UCL. Timing is always of the essence Pep had the opportunity to look good by simply letting the front office know this would be his last year at the start of the season. Everyone would probably go all out to win it all as he was well liked at Bayern. Eruditor: As for Mandzukic, Shaqiri etc. Is it not funny that they didn't leave Bayern to set their next clubs on fire? Pep should be commended for letting them go. Mandzukic failed in ATM and Shaqiri failed in Inter. Mandzukic is doing well at Juve and did pretty good with Atleti. Atleti is not exactly a striker’s paradise as Jackson Martinez is finding out. Shaqiri is another matter and you don't see me complaining. However I'd never commend Pep for offloading Mandzu. It was not performance based Eruditor: Yes he has obviously underperformed a 2 power-houses that went on to win the UCL convincingly and although he had some of the blames he shouldn't take all of it. We are all praising Jupp's achievements in his final season (and rightly so) but there is nothing and I mean ABSOLUTELY nothing to suggest Jupp would've beaten RM in 2014 and Barca in 2015. Ofcourse the scorelines suffered especially against RM is another topic of discussion. Juup wouldn't lose to both sides I know that for a certainty. He took on Madrid with Mueller the only decent option on the bench. There is nothing to àsuggest he would have lost to both sides in such a tame and scandalous manner. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to suggest he wouldn’t have won either or both ties |

SIRcumalot: I really like the way Bayern approach this Pep issue stealing his thunder with that Carlo announcement That is the Bayern Munich way. No one individual can hold us to ransom or by the jugular. If you want to start ego-trippin we would pull the carpet from under you. Extension of 4 players in one day also sent a clear message. I am not sad to see him go personally, I resent how he treated Mandzukic and how his tactics set us up for humiliation against Madrid and Barca. Unless he wins us the CL this year it would be hard for me to label his tenure a success pelvicky: but you can't deny that bayern chairman, fans, staff want him to stay,....but he love new challenges .
**** i was only replying that goat that say pep has been found out and can't escape sacking We were open to a stay because he had achieved the bare minimum. Win the league and get us to the CL semis but I think he could not comprehend that certain fans and past figures affiliated with the club did not think that was much of an achievement due to the talent he had and the achievements of Heynckes and I think this ate at him. Didn't help that he appeared to be dismantling that side while there was no improvements in results especially against the elite in Europe Good luck to him wherever he goes. He can still go out on a high with a win in Milan |

SmooshCHN: Players get traded. And for what Dion Waiters does offensively for OKC you can't overlook it avg 15-16pts per game in Cleveland. Cavs went on a spending spree with Jr Smith, Shumpert James Jones he definitely would've been traded. If you watch his game now you'd see a better Waiters. You still may not like him tho but he's good. Its not about getting traded alone, how much has he improved OKC? Did he remotely attempt to step up when KD and Westbrook got hurt? Players like him are a big reason why OKC are struggling to crack into the elite tier |

SmooshCHN: Dion Waiters isn't particularly good at anything... he plays better defence than Harden and he's field goal performance cannot be overlooked. He's a little down on defence i agree though but he is good offensively. Durant would've done a better job guarding James in the last match imo Waiters can't guard a traffic cone. No wonder the Cavs traded him |

Spy360: Over the years many players have either been discovered or 'formed' by managers. For example, Jose brought the best out of Drogba, he also was responsible in forming Mikel into the DM he is today.
Wenger formed Henry into the prolific goal scorer he was. Take a look at Ramsey, even his 'over passing' is a Wenger trait.
But for Messi, I wouldn't attribute his formation to any manager. Messi has greatness in his DNA. Give Messi to Amodu Shuaibu and he will still be world best. You must also realised that Messi was already known to the football world before he made his first appearance for Barca. Even Michael Jordan owes his greatness to someone how much more Messi? Amodu ke? You should not downplay the role of coaching and a system of play on how it improves a player's efficiency. Ask yourself why Messi does not harbour any real interest of playing for any other club despite achieving everything with Barca. You think its mere loyalty? Think again |
