chic2pimp: If the amount being quoted is the price you guys are paying for Vidal, take it from me a Milan fan when I say it's an absolute steal. Especially when you consider Raheem "a had one good season" Sterling is costing City £49M and Pogba would cost around the same amount too. Also I know everyone keeps harping on about his work rate and energy levels but his passing skills are highly underrated. You are getting a quality player here. Top class performer for both club and country. The systematic disintegration of Juve must fill you with excitement I'm sure |

raumdeuter: I think this transfer makes a whole lot of sense
1. Vidal is like 3yrs younger than Schweini. Vidal just turned 28 Schweini would be turning 31 in 2 weeks
Paying 35m Euros for Vidal is a steal if you consider his experience at top level and what other teams are paying for less talented. I dont see any player of his experience and talent going for less
Someone would easily pay 50m plus for Vidal in England and still think its a deal No be Benteke wey miss over a season injured just recently na him Liverpool dey price for 45m Euros.
Vidal should play 3seasons and by then we would see how much progress Hojbejer and Kimmich make
Reschke was the one who discovered Vidal in Chile and he was instrumental to this deal
Below are the injury record of Vidal and Schweinisteiger Vidal only missed 17 games due to injury in his last 7 seasons while Schweini missed more than that last fall alone. Schweini injury list even spills to page 2 Yeah I clearly over-estimated his injury or maybe I'm still salty about Schweinsteiger's exit. I don't think its even a question if he is a capable replacement. He's a tad overrated but still one of the best box to box mids in the game Its an awful lot of money and brings our spending to €65m and I still feel we need a Ribery replacement. Robben could not even travel to the Audi tour in China because of muscle problems |

That Latvian kid really balling in the Summer League So its Williams and Pachulia Roland17: The modern era of social networking gave birth to unprofessional and immature means of communicating and resolving differences amicably within the business circle, the whole debacle with D. Jordan, M. Cuban and the Clippers organization shows how immature DJ truly is.
Cuban is a successful businessman, I want to believe he is used to buyers remorse but he also anticipates the buyer is classy enough to express themselves when buying out of a business, DJ blew this one for me, I personally believe he weighed circumstances after verbally committing to the Mavs and made the best decision for his career because let's be honest, even if the Mavs succeeded in getting DJ they would struggle for the 8th spot but his chances to the championship are stronger with the Clippers but sending tweet messages to apologize is flat out disrespectful to a man like Cuban and the Mavs nation, DJ is a wimp let me just put it that way, he easily could have met Cuban who I want to believe already knows DJ was backing out and talk heart to heart with Cuban, this whole shenanigans questions his personality.
To the Mavs nation, I feel the pain...trust me, I would be rooting against Clippers all season for this one even when they play against Lecramp and his whining lot.. DJ is a douchegoblin. Its not that he scorned Cuban its that he waited the last possible minute with all potential replacements gone to do it. This is someone that praised you to the highest level even talking up his mediocre and non existent offensive game I'm consoled with the fact that the Clippers would once again not get past the 2nd round and with any justice in the world DJ would shred his ACL on opening night |

AirborneLacer: Buddy no one dragged you into anything, I only quoted your opinion which has been rendered irrelevant by Europe's renowned journalists.
The link you provided is the UEFA team of the year, which is selected by UEFA.com users. What that means is that, even the agbero who reads Complete Sports every morning in orile junction has the right to decide who makes the list and who doesn't, given he's a registered user of UEFA.com. Little wonder Tevez also failed to make the team.
That is in stark contrast to the UEFA best player of the year award, where 54 renowned sports journalists representing each of the UEFA national associations provide a list of their best-ranked players.
Mate there's a gulf difference in both calls.
When Hazard won the PFA award, most of you tagged it a ''Local Award'' that counts for nothing.
Funny how this ''local award'' have seen the lad join Europe's elites. Journalists? Since when did journalists become the universally acknowledged talent evaluators? So if I work a different profession but watch the game as much as most journalists it means their opinion holds more relevance than mine. I need a journalist to tell me that Arjen Robben and Thomas Mueller had a better season than Arturo Vidal? You better read that link well. The people who selected the players are listed above and below. Users can vote who they please but it has no bearing on the final list I don't know why una go get eyes but opt not to use it |

Honestly I've been following your comments here and I respect them even though we are always in opposition camps so to speak. So I am VERY surprised to read this from you. Are you sure you are the person who typed this thing above?
Gotze played almost 100 minutes more than Hazard IN A WHOLE TOURNAMENT and you are here breaking down their average minutes per game? When you were dishing out goals and assists, was it not for THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT? Was it for one match? Dude stop quoting stats that you don't understand. You tried making it sound like Goetze played a significant number of more games but we can clearly see that it adds up to just one! Ikedia played almost 10 hours of football and scored just one goal from open play. Its a crying shame! Stop defending nonsense! timbros: 26 minutes disadvantage? Really? OK let's tow your line of argument for a minute. What happens to the extra 4 matches which Gotze averaged 67% and Hazard 0%? Which is more disadvantage? Gotze's 26% disadvantage x 7 matches which equals 128%, or Hazard's 67% x 4 matches disadvantage which equals 268%?
Do you even know how per90 metrics work in football? Please take your time and go through this link and understand more http://statsbomb.com/2013/08/an-introduction-to-the-per-90-metric/
Na wao... 26 x 7 = 128? Mathematics according to Timbros Abeggi you are not focusing on the most relevant stat Ikedia only scored 1 goal from open play. I'm glad you mentioned per 90 minute metric because if you didn't know you ought to have realized that in 3 of the 11 matches Goetze played less than 55 mins infact in 2 of them he featured for less than 15mins. If that doesn't show how biased your stats are I don't know what will So don't tell me that goals and assists the most important metric of all don't matter all in a vain effort to defend Ikedia |

Why do you guys always rush to goals scored and assist when players are being compared? What happens to a players overall performance?
Hazard murders Gotze in the just concluded UCL when you compare their total performance.

FastShipping: English League was not popular back in the 80s as it is now but was followed by some football fanatics in Nigeria; especially those Nigerians who schooled or had close ties with UK in the 80s. I was a little kid back then I remember my dad and his friends used to discuss the likes of Aston Villa, Wimbledon, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Arsenal. These were the top teams in U.K back in the 80s. I remember back then when adults were checking newspaper for results on Sunday mornings. English League was not on TV back then but people still followed it through other means. I don't know if anyone still remember the pool page in the national dailies with above British teams listed in them. There were pool papers available in Lagos back then with British teams listed in them. I grew up hearing those names from adults who love football in the 80s. By late 80s and early 90s, Bruce Groebbler, John Fashanu, John Barnes, Bryan Robson, Lineker were names in people's mouth on weekends. The way Manchester United sprang up from no where around 1992 was a shock. The Manchester United jersey with SHARP logo in front of it was the most popular jersey back then. It was during that time that NTA began to broadcast British League sponsored by Rothmans PAL Mall. Another thing that brought awareness of British League to Nigeria was the move of Daniel Amokachie to Everton in 1994 from F.C Brugge. Back in those days, Amokachie seemed to be the most popular Nigerian player in Europe in which boys were following his football progress. The moment Amokachie moved to England, Nigerian were always following his progress in England. I can remember when Amokachie got to Everton but couldn't get games under Joel Royle and then John Toschark but the moment Amokachie scored two goals in the semi final of the FA Cup against Manchester United and then won the FA Cup final, British football was finally born in Nigeria in 1995. Another factor that created awareness about British League was a broadcaster named Larry Echiejiele/Izamoje who was fond of bringing news about British League. I still remember the likes of Segun Odegbami, Larry Izamoje and Tony Akiotu always going to England to interview the likes of Afan Ekoku, Amokachie, John Salako, Reuben Agboola, and Fashanu brothers, etc.
When it comes to German League in Nigeria, it started in 1989. German league was the first and most broadcast European League back in the late 80s and early 90s on NTA 2 Channel 5 from 8pm - 9pm on Sundays. The like of Uwe Bein, Andreas Moeller, Maurizio Gaudino, Andreas Brehme, Stefan Reuter, Thomas Haessler, Lothar Matthaeus and co were some of the famous names to play in the German League in the late 80s and early 90s. Players like Sammer, Effenberg, Elber, Sergio, Tarnat, Jeremies, Ulrich, Andreas Moeller, Oliver Khan, Martin Darlin, Andreas Anderson, Jorginho, Allain Sutter, Chapuizat from Switzerland, Ossei Kuffor, Anthony Yeboah, Okocha, Akpoborie and others were the names that brought fame to German football between 1995 and 2004. The best of the German club teams back in those days were Bayern Munich, Duisburg, Karlsruhe, Dortmund, Monchengladbach, Weder Brehmen, Nuremburg, Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern, Dusseldorf and few others.
These were the times I enjoyed football matches that are not available today. Football is now about running and less about skill. Is there a football player today who can pass ball better than Steffan Effenberg? Is there any defender today close to what Sammer was between 1993 and 1999? Is there any striker today better than Roberto Baggio, Christian Vieri, Ivan Zamorano, Marcelo Salas, Davor Suker, Alain Bosic, or Mihajatovic? These players wouldn't make first 11 at Chelsea today with the way Mourinho plays football. You are mostly right but I can recall very vividly that the EPL was the least popular league especially among the younger generation. You can see that na your dad you mention and not yourself. All the best players in the world back then played elsewhere. Even as at the mid-90's you mentioned the German League was more popular than the English League. EPL teams were still a laughing stock in Europe back then so the likes of Ajax, Ac Milan, Madrid, Barca, Juve had actual fans I even knew niggas who supported Marseille, PSG and Inter I was a fan of anything German so Bayern was the natural choice while certain players in Dortmund (Sammer, their keeper Stefan Klos, Andy Moeller) also made me root for them when Bayern failed to make the CL From 03 or thereabout German League completely vanished from the Television both local and cable and they took their precious time before making a return Football was awesome those days. Especially the Champions League. Too many classic matches |

Who saw the Telekom Cup games? Lordave: I still believe in Pep. I pray oo! My faith in him is dwindling everyday. And e dey pain me cos I have defended him so vehemently on this thread Look at that small boy Yannick Carrasco that went to Atleti for €15m isn't that someone we coulda gone for as a prospective long term replacement for Robbery instead of pissing €30m on Douglas Costa |

raumdeuter: Not in Nigeria. Bayern isnt popular unless it has changed now. Almost every viewing center I went to, I am always the only Bayern fan. Even In a University of over 15,000 student the Bayern fans there as at early 2000 were less than 5. I knew this when I first tried to start a Bayern fan club in Nigeria around yr 2000. I contacted guys in UI, UNILAG but very few responses It was so until some Benin boys hijacked the Bayern fan thing when they saw that they could use it as a way to apply for Schengen visa and I backed out when the thing wan become matter of life and death. Me I am just a fan for the love of the club, dem wan use am as money making to get boys and say they can apply for visa together as fansclub some of them dont even know any Bayern player One day my friend found one Bayern fan in Shitta Surulere he had to call me from Egbeda to come meet am Definitely not. To be very frank German football administrators didn't push the game hard enough and that is why the followership wasn't strong. I grew up following the Mannschaft watching Football Made in Germany and was also able to follow the likes of Bayern, Dortmund in the Champions League circa 94-98. (I was a massive Klinsmann and Elber fanboy) and Andy Moeller was the best midfielder in the world as far as I was concerned. Nothing like EPL then! Rothmans Football used to run weekly roundups of leagues around Europe and there were no highlights sef so if you grew up in Nigeria around that time and you tell me you were a fan of any EPL team other than Man U you are most likely lying It all went to sh!t From the late 90's up till 2010 or thereabout, German Football was pretty much non-existent in Nigeria and that coincided with the boom in EPL followership. La Liga and Serie A were still thriving and you had ninjas tell you they supported Man U and Barca, Arsenal and Barca. We had raves in early Uni years mid/late 00's where repping one English club was the cool thing to do niggas putting name and numbers of their favorite players on the back of their cars By the time BuLi came back around 2010/2011 period if you didn't have cable which viewing center/lounge wan show Bayern vs Gladbach when Chelsea and Stoke City dey play unless na your papa get the place. I doubt the BuLi will ever catch up. I know only one Bayern fan in person and I met em through social media Hahaha Bini boys are very dangerous, those people no dey happy at all! na all of them dey play runs and always show their logo whether in school environment or not. I dey always comport if I go see my people for that side Bimffo: I am a Premier League fan, and I am so happy Bastian came to the league at least b4 he retires. He may be off his best but he can still deliver when he is in form.. 2ndly, I wanna follow Bundesliga this coming season.. So, I wanna support a team(Excluding Bayern).. I am looking at Wolfsburg or Borussia Mönchengladbach.
A40 and Raumdeuter, anything please.. I am not trolling, Just advice me a little..
And Lastly, Dayo U'v got to resume on that Chelsea thread. The trolls we get these days don't know nada about football, they just keep looking for errors and throwing insult.. Na wa for you ooh! So na team wey dey play good football you dey find? So why you come dey support Chelsea They don't play Chelsea's brand of negative football For someone like you I'd recommend Schalke, Hamburg or Cologne |

Spy360: Why would CL chasing Bayern let club hero and national captain leave for €12m? Speaks volumes. There is something they are not telling LvG. I heard he is going for £14.3m Well we have sent them no testing before sha (Hargreaves) but he still helped them to a league and a CL Basti is still good for another 2-3 seasons at least. Its a massive steal |

Nihilist: Well ,He seems to be suffering from recurrent injuries over the last two seasons. The same old flare ups. Deep runs in major tournaments over that timeframe were also a factor. He even went to the last WC injured. Provided he is well managed Fussballgott can still give Man U 3 solid seasons. He relies less on athleticism and more on intelligence now plus Ana's puna is another potential factor |
