In my opinion, Neymar jr is a better player than Eden Hazard

Neymar beats hazard in the following departments
~Skill
~Goal scoring
~Set pieces
~Dribbling
~Ball control
~Technique

Neymar at his age, has accomplished a lot more than hazard can in 2-3 years

He was the main driving force for Brazil at the Confederations cup and at the World cup.
EPL and a lot of its fans overhype players a lot. Its a gift! Otherwise why would people even be talking about Hazard and Balon D'or in the same sentence. Of course Neymar is better than local champion Hazard. I would list 20 players better than Hazard with ease!! A player with 5 goals (3 penalties) in 3 seasons of champions league football that has never performed in any International tournament for club or country should not be mentioned among the elite

Neither can CP3 carry a franchise to the promise land as proven with New Orleans and now the Clippers, the current Clippers roaster is way younger and more talented than the roaster Rondo guarded to the championship and two consecutive eastern conference appearances and that includes the coaching crew, also considering their mobile and modern style of game where defense is near absent, the Clippers have always disappointed, CP3 might have the generally accepted leadership persona
With Kobe's Lakers, Spurs, Nowitzki's Mavs which promise land do you expect CP3 to lead the Hornets or Clippers to?
We are talking about 3 teams with 6 championships between them and you are talking about a weak and extremely rubbish Eastern conference where teams with waaaaay less than .500 routinely make the playoffs

Roland17:
but it has not translated on the court, how about his turn over numbers?
www.nba.com/clippers/chris-paul-historic-pace-handling-ball

Chillax and stop repeating this fabu! Chris Paul is one of the most efficient point guards in the history of the game, far more efficient than Rondo and there are facts to back it up

Roland17:
Rondo is a pure leader, depending on who is been led, the reason Ray Allen left the Garden is cos Rondo's leadership style was different not necessarily about losing his place to Bradley, it assertive and direct, while the arguments about his jumpers and poor freethrows are valid, he rewarded and justified his play with incredible assist numbers, defense and of course triple doubles, he is a PURE point guard he was raised that way from high school, he is more interested in getting assists and I disagree with the notion that he is not crunch time player, did you read the paragraphs in the article where he torched different teams during the playoffs?
Why Allen left the Celts is immaterial. What is obvious is how the Celtics faded to irrelevance after the big 3 left, even Rondo bolted knowing fully well that even in a weak Eastern Conference he simply cannot carry the load and make the Celts even remotely competitive.

Roland17:
Obviously Rondo's defense play has nosedived and that is where my fear stems from, I fear he has lost interest in the game, on a good night can you argue CP3 is a better defender than Rondo? Heelllllll no!!! apart from Russell Westbrooks pressure defense from the point guard position I doubt there is a better and more intelligent defender in the point guard position than Rondo and that includes steals.
I love CP3 but in comparison to what Rondo has achieved based on team played at the peak of their career, Rondo dusts CP3 to the ground, the numbers are not even close.
Rondo was a passenger on the Celtics championship team. He was probably the 4th or most likely 5th important player on the team. The only thing he has over CP3 is his ring but asides that CP is the better point guard

Roland17:
Don't construe my argument though, I agree he has been a disappointment with Dallas, I doubt it's a good fit for him considering the Mavericks don't necessarily need a star point guard to get points or win games, Monta Ellis, Dirk, Chandler Parsons et al are all pure shooters, Rondo's presence on the court slows Dallas's offense and limits touches for the others, it only benefits Chandler or any Center available on the night, it is a bad mix up if you ask me.
Rondo has played badly individually. hurting every part of the offense and not even playing good enough defense to mitigate that, what's worse he thinks he knows more than the coach yet after 9 years in the league he still doesn't have a jumper! and because injuries have hurt his ability to get to the rim he is now an offensive liability.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 1:33am On Apr 11, 2015
Roland17:
The argument here is not if CP3 is a good defender, coz yes he is but a better defender than Rondo from the point guard position? it's a big NO, heellll no, we are not even talking about Paul's turn over ration which is horrendous to be kind.

CP3 played with Peja Stojakovic ( do u need his numbers and stats?) David West, Tyson Chandler, Trevor Ariza, Marco Belinelli these guys were at the peak of their games, I am in no way comparing their roaster to that of the big three, but during an era when the Eastern Conference dominated the league when it came to win percentages, the you have to tell me something else.
2014/2015

Assists Turnover per game
Chris Paul 10.2 2.4

Rajon Rondo 7.9 3.1

So what are you talking about chale?

Peja Stojakovic was at least 2 years past his prime when he joined the Hornets, Chandler was a nobody and Bellinelli would not make the top 100 players in the league. The only player close to elite on that team was David West and worse they were in the same division with the Mavs, Spurs and Rockets

When you talk about dominating in win percentages I just laugh because you are blowing grammar! Is it not the same Eastern conference where teams with less than 40 wins were making the playoffs?

It can't translate in court if the coaches and players around him don't understand him, Rondo is a perfectionist, he is always thinking ahead of plays and most coaches don't, Its like a kid with schizophrenia, who is way to direct in his approaches and has expectations society deems abnormal, on his good night, I mean the era of the big three in the Garden, Rondo is better than those names up there, yes I dare say even better than CP3, if only he gets some freedom to play some calls.

I doubt we would ever see the best of Rondo ever again, I fear his decline is imminent and he might decide to retire early from frustrations.
I think Rondo has played on better teams than CP3. Hard to choose between 'that' Rondo and CP3. But I don't know if Rondo can carry teams on his back like CP3 does with the Clippers

Let's keep it a 100 Rondo has been playing crap! He is essentially a no-go in a clutch game as he has refused to obtain a jumper. He has also declined on defense which puts Carlisle in a bit of a dilemma. PG's are not necessarily supposed to be elite shooters but Rondo no dey try at all its even hurt the offense which was the best in the league before he was traded for

some people place bets on a team to win the league before a ball is even kicked for the season. predictions & facts are not on the same page till they happen. what you can say is that your prediction three months ago will come to pass, not that there was no title race three months ago.

no need to flog the matter further.
This simply means you did not read my initial post to begin with. I highlighted my prediction clearly!

Secondly you cannot be talking about a race in freaking January. With over 15 games to go if that's the case I might as well jump back to October. A team cannot be leading so comfortably at this crucial part of the season and you are here talking about title race like titles are handed out in January

So, you cant say Chelsea were not scared then..
Nothing is decided in January or even February so its a choice to be scared during a relatively early part of the season where nothing had been decided. Assuming Chelsea go on to win the league with this margin then it simply means there was no title race

Chelsea finished Fifth because their squad had aged and no longer good enough, they needed rebuilding, you can blame the coach all you like.
Neither of those names you are reeling out were major buys for Bayern and none of them became integral part of the team.
Nope! Their squad was still good enough to finish in the top 4. AVB's incompetence played a huge role in why they finished so low! Never underestimate the incompetence of a coach and how bad it can make
a team look

Loool! Dude please stick to the EPL! The more you type the more it becomes painfully obvious you know nothing about Bayern and who plays what role on the team.

Mandzukic our top scorer in the Bundesliga who went on to score the opening goal of the Champions League final was not integral?
Martinez who formed the best Defensive midfield partnership in Europe was not integral?
Pizarro and Shaqiri our super-subs who helped us in our Pokal runs not integral?

Don't make me laugh please just stop

pazienza:
Madrid and Barca pull and Pedigree. were built with money, Chelsea's highest buy was Torres at 50 million pounds, Barca and Madrid keep spending above that every season, on players. The figos, Ronaldos, Suarez, Neymar, Henry, Ibrahimovic, Villa, Bale, Rodriguez, etc.
It wasn't pedigree Pedigree that brought them to Madrid and Barca, it was the money, Milan has a greater European pedigree than Barca, since they went poor, look at how many top stars their European pedigree has brought to them, yea, the Menez and Essiens of this world.
Money is useless without pedigree that is why Man City and PSG cannot buy Ronaldo or Messi even with €200m. Money is important but money can only go so far

You just keep dropping names. Go and check the net-spend of these teams and get back to me. Of course you would scream when Madrid buys Bale for €88m but would forget that they also sold Oezil for €42m and Higuain for €38m in the same transfer window. This year we saw them buy James but sell Angel Di Maria for €60m.
Barca would buy Suarez for €78m but sell Sanchez and Fabregas for €67m

I reiterate that money was not an issue for Chelsea. If they could spend over £30m on freaking Willian, They would spend more if they could attract the names

pazienza:
Hazard was the most important player for Chelsea last season, he is the spark for them, subdue Hazard and. Chelsea look mediocre.
Taah! He did zilch in the Champions League. Infact Chelsea were able to beat PSG in his absence

pazienza:
He took them to Semi finals in his second season, he was their most influential player in this season's campaign, he will do more in the future, that's while I said he is a future Ballon d'or winner.
He did not take them anywhere. Where could he have possibly taken them to with his measly two goals and ZERO assists? Eto'o and Ba were more useful in that campaign

pazienza:
Sorry, it arises, and moreover you can't just use goals to judge Hazard, he is not a striker, the Zidane and Iniesta example applies here.
How can it arise? What does Ronaldo's support cast have to do with Hazard's personal failures?

Jonathan fail to perform you talk say Obama get superior cabinet. Schweppes

Hazard is a forward! He has neither the goals nor the titles all he has is your sentiments so how does the comparison apply?

pazienza:
Well, he had a bad game against PSG, but before then, he was their best player in the group stages, and had the best number of completed dribbles in the group stages, I remember that Ronaldinho's Barca didn't go far in 2004 champions league, he only won the Balloon d'or based on his La liga performances. This was just Hazard's 3rd champions league appearance and he already has a semi final appearance under his belt, his best years are ahead.
Best player according to who? You keep going on about dribbles but where was the end product? Ghostmode! We no dey see am

The bar has been set much higher bruh. Ronaldinho's feat that year would not have been enough to win him the Balon D'or in these days and times.

Of course he has a semi-final appearance. He also has a First knockout and group phase exit under his belt. I agree his best years might be ahead of him which is why he is not comparable to his ancestors atm

pazienza:
He got the away goal in Paris in 2014, penalties are part of the game.
I can write a similar thing against any player
Off another player's sweat. The real hardwork was at the Bridge and he limped out and made no contributions when it mattered most as usual

pazienza:
I can say the same of any title winning team. For example, with the truckload of money Madrid has been spending, they were due to a champions league trophy last season, it has nothing to do with Ronaldo, the addition of Bale who got the winning goal at 1-1 has been more telling.
Nice try! Only that Ronaldo scored 17 goals in the competition (a record) and also scored in every stage (another record) its laughable that you try to compare with Hazard who is not even the highest scorer or assist provider on his team. Very laughable

pazienza:
He has been making impact in other competitions, your eyes are just looking for goals and assists, there is more to Hazard's game than that.
What are the impacts? Don't tell me dribbles cos Okocha did more than that

pazienza:
The comparison is that Ronaldo won't have gotten his Balloon d'or without that Scholes goals, Messi would have won it.
Without the Scholes goal the game would have gone into extra-time and if no one scored then penalties. Who is to say Barcelona wouldn't have lost anyway?

pazienza:
Muller is not even the second most dangerous player in Bayern. Robben and Ribery are and that's why Ribery was nominated for the Ballon d'or the year Bayern won the Champion league and not Muller.
Then you don't know about Bayern and you need to listen from people who support the club. That Ribery won the award does not make him Bayern's most dangerous player. Anyone who saw Bayern that year knows better

pazienza:
In Germany, he is not the most dangerous player, just happens to get the goals, nothing g spectacular about his game, probably why he was never nominated in the Ballon d'or both in 2010 and 2014,despite his goals instead Nuer was, there is more to being a Ballon dor prospect than just goals, comparing Hazard to Muller is a joke.
You really need to do your research on what danger means. It seems your idea of danger is how many dribbles a player can average per game. Sorry but goals and assists are what wins games and titles. He might not have made the Final 3 but he has at least finished much higher than Hazard has. Hell even Kalusha Bwalya has finished higher on the Balon D'or list than Hazard

You are right though its a joke to compare Hazard to a cerebral assassin like Mueller. What Mueller has achieved it would take Hazard decades to match

You can't seriously be arguing about a race with 17 games to go when the men have not been separated from the boys. By that time even Southampton would be talking about winning the league. We are now in the clutch and Chelsea's nearest challengers are almost 10pts behind despite playing more games.

Thank you.

Hazard joined Chelsea when the team just started its rebuilding process, after the Stars of the 2004-2012 era had aged and were being replaced, basically Chelsea was in rebuilding process, and just finished 5th in the league when Hazard joined them.
.
Chelsea did not finish 6th because they were not good enough they finished there because of AVB's incompetence and RDM ultimately opting to focus on Europe. The only key man who left was Drogba. Not an excuse for Chelsea to get knocked out of the group stage. By landing Pizarro, Mandzukic, Martinez, Shaqiri we also had to rebuild

I can say that for just about any team in Europe

pazienza:
Chelsea is not as rich as Madrid/ Barca, so their rebuilding process is a slow one, but with Hazard they have already reached the Semi final of the Champions league last season, and that was as high as Madrid could get as of 2013 even with their high profile signings.
Their transfer dealings and wage bill do not necessarily agree with you. What Chelsea lack is the pull and pedigree of Madrid and Barca certainly not the funds

What was Hazard's role in Chelsea reaching the semi-finals? If we rolled out the top 15 players in the Champions League last season. Hazard would not make it there

pazienza:
As of last season, Chelsea strikers were substandard, with Eto, not so top Demba Ba, and dead Torres, all Chelsea's creative spark must come from Hazard, a tree was never going to make a forest.
In a 'bad team' you can still be the difference maker. My question here is why has Hazard either with good or bad players failed to make any difference in the Champions League

pazienza:
Ronaldo had world class scholes, A top striker in Rooney, his burden was lighter. Messi had Iniester, Xavi, and Henry/ Ibrahimovic/ Villa/ Eto (at his peak) at various points of his Carreer, it made things easier for him, allowing his team to totally dominate opponents, Hazard until now never had those privileges, He just got Fabregas and Costa this season, genuine world class talents, and he is already leading Chelsea to their first EPL trophy since 2010.
So this is your defence as to why Hazard has only scored 2 goals in 3 seasons from open play in the Champions League? Hazard has not been pulling his own weight so the issue of Messi and Ronaldo possessing a better supporting cast does not arise

Even with the arrival of these 'genuine world class talents' Hazard failed yet again to perform in Europe

2012/2013 - Nowhere to be found vs Juve
2013/2014 - Invisible in both legs vs Atleti, Chelsea got past PSG in his absence
2014/2015 - Bar the usual penalty was invisible in both legs vs PSG

I've seen Messi and Ronaldo in UCL matches decide the tie with moments of individual genius. In 3 years since Hazard joined Chelsea I have never seen that

With the truckload of money Chelsea has been spending they are due a league title. And Fabregas and Costa's contributions have been more telling IMO

pazienza:
As Mourinho continues to build Chelsea around Hazard, more world class talents capable of supporting Hazard and even winning difficult matches when he( Hazard) is finding it difficult will be added, for example without scholes, Ronaldo would probably not have won the 2008 balloon d'or, he needed scholes brilliance to get over Messi and Barcelona in the Semi final.
Why does Hazard always find it difficult? How is the 3rd best player in the World according to you yet to make his impact felt in any competition other than the EPL

At 0-0 the game would have gone to penalties at the very worst. Ronaldo that year finished top scorer in the competition so I don't see the comparison with Eden 5 'goals in 3 years' Hazard

pazienza:
Muller, leading Germany and Bayern to World cup and champions league glorly? Please spare me that talk, we know that Muller wasn't the main man for Germany and Bayern, he just seem to get the crucial goals, as the pressure seem to be less on him and more on his more illustrious team mates like Robben, Ribery, Lahm, Ozil, Kroos, etc, it makes him the ghost man that sneaks in behind and comes up the goal, Muller was never the danger man for Germany and Bayern.
Mueller wasn't the main man? Looooool! Bros just stick to your forte which is the EPL and stop dropping names for the fun of it.

Kroos - No assist from open play at the World Cup injured in our Champions League title run
Oezil - Looool
Lahm - Was a fantastic player but played a different role definitely not more important than Mueller
Ribery - Not as important as Mueller
Robben - Equal level of importance but Mueller has the edge because of his durability

Only astute analysts truly understand what Mueller brings to the table and it goes beyond dribbles and flicks.

Mueller is Bayern and Germany's most dangerous player because you never quite know what he's going to do, where he is going to pop up or how you even go about marking him. How you don't know this is one of earth's mysteries

pazienza:
In Chelsea, Hazard has no such Luxury, he is the danger man/ the star man, every opponent makes special arrangements to cage him, there is no hiding place for him.
Meh! All I see is a player who can only shine in the EPL and can't cut it in the bright lights of the Champions League. You can make special arrangements to cage Messi, Mueller, Ronaldo. Xavi, Robben their brilliance would still shine through.

I am not a Chelsea fan, but being neutral, I believe that only two players are currently better than Hazard in world football, Ronaldo and Messi.

Hazard is special, you need to remove your bias lens to see that, the dude just dribble pass people like they are not there, and his overall contribution to Chelsea game is enormous, he is so matured and know when not to dribble and when to just pass. I need to see the stats for the midfielders that have created highest goal scoring chances in Europe this season, I am sure he will be in the top 3. Everything good about Chelsea, flows through Hazard, he is the ultimate team player.

Too bad in modern football, all people care about are goals and assists, Hazard just need to add those two more to his game, and the world would be begging him to accept the WPOTY award, once Ronaldo and Messi decline.

You have got to respect a guy so technically gifted that he is capable of dribbling in tight spaces and in slow motion. Neymar, Reus, and their likes are but speedsters, give them no space, and they are easily caged, Hazard is ahead of them, people like Ribery recognize this.

Please, this is but my personal opinion, no ad hominem will be tolerated o!
I don't think anyone should begrudge you for your opinion. I personally don't think Hazard is the best player in the EPL hell it could be argued that he is not even the best player at Chelsea

However while expressing opinions it is not bad to take facts into cognizance

Truth is Hazard's brilliance has for the most part being limited to the league so technically in local parlance he is a local champion.

Amongst Europe's elite Hazard has only managed 5 goals in 3 seasons, by the time you take out penalties he would be left with 2 goals. For a player with Balon D'or aspirations this is a laughable record

Yes you talked about goals and assists not mattering and used Xavi, Zidane and Iniesta as examples which is quite well and good but what they lack in goals they make up for by rarely ever failing to infleunce the game when it matters most. While Hazard always goes missing

You could argue about him being relatively young but at his age Ronaldo and Messi were already two of the best players in the world. Guys like Mueller was leading his team to World and Champions League glory.

So my question to you is why has the '3rd best player's brilliance' failed to cross the British Isles?

Hazard is a good player the potential is there but for someone so hyped up he is yet to deliver in Elite Europe. Always Ghostmode in the big games. For someone touted as a 'future WPOTY' his record in the Champions League is a disgrace

Depending on the degree of Schweini's injury I really think Alonso should sit out the big games for now, he was an accident waiting to happen at times

This useless spambot been ban me when I try reply that Ribery article.

As far as I'm concerned he needs a \____ I think its become a matter of national urgency that we need to cop his replacement this summer while we mull on Robben as well, our rivals aren't parading 32 y.o wingers

As for today's game I was pleasantly suprised by the result not just that we won but the fact that we had to grind it out. Pep made a gamble today and it paid dividends

Very impressed by Neuer after his horror show last week Lewandowski, Benatia and Schewinsteiger, even Dante didn't do much wrong.

Thiago returning and bossing things like he was never injured it was beautiful to watch. Hopefully Ribery and Martinez come back soon as well to help us cope with the absence of Robben and Alaba.

Let's hope Schweini isn't too badly hurt. These injuries are becoming unbearable
