elampiro: Finid didnt have speed? Ukwu!!!
Finidi out paced his markers uncountable times, went behind the defence to deliver a tap in for Yekini or other forwards.
Ikedia is the only Nigeria winger I can remember who never relied on speed to get past his markers. He used mostly his body swerves to get his markers off his way. Elahor relied on team work. Finidi needed to run down the line to deliver a cross. Amuneke was pace and power with scoring ability. Tijani was a diminutive jet. Finidi was not the quickest stop chatting dothraki! The quality of his deliveries was his strongest trait Tijani, Ikedia were all quicker than him. FACT! Since Ikedia didn't rely on speed can you tell us why he instantly became useless when he lost his speed? Injuries, old age, lack of technical ability was Ikedia's bane elampiro: Ikedia is the best dribbler Nigeria ever produced. The only one who I could remember that would have a man directly in his front and he takes him away in a second with body swerves. He didnt mind how many men were line up ahead of him, he was ready to go. You are dreaming! How can you say Ikedia is the best dribbler Nigeria produced? Its obvious you don't know as much as you think. Ohh I just remembered he is from Edo. Abajo elampiro: Just tell me you didnt know him jor. Injury, kill players irrespective of whether they have speed or not. Just look like Falcao who destroyed Chelsea's defence before. Eduardo of Arsenal. Falcao is a poacher! His problem goes beyond injuries. Your system is not really suited to him plus he has not IMO been given sufficient playing time. This has nothing to do with Ikedia who is completely useless without speed as he possesses average technical ability! elampiro: The clips and articles provided here so far have shown Ikedia relied 90% on his dribbling. I am yet to see where he did straight line speeding runs like Tijani/Finidi/Amuneke. Training clips? Ayo Makinwa used to be our best player in training doesn't mean he was not a mediocre player just like Ikedia is or was Ikedia's only outstanding ability was his speed. Finish! |

elampiro: How can someone who delighted fans all over the world in 1998/1999 (Nigeria 99 and friendly matches) with his scintillating football be a frustrating player? Just say you didnt know him when he first came on board. He was very young when he went into the Super Eagles and he was unlocking defence with ease. Loool e be like say na him height dey deceive you! Young ko Ashley ni. Ninja please stop chatting that megedefegede dude was merely a midget and a monumental flash in the pan. Woeful delivery, zero Football IQ and all round poor decision maker with no end product whatsoever elampiro: Ikedia did not rely heavily on his speed. Wingers are meant to have decent speed, but Ikedia was not a speed 'marshal'.
Finidi for instance had speed to outpaced his markers but it was his crosses and finals balls that stood him out.
Amuneke was pacde and power.
Tijani was speed and quickness.
Ikedia was purely dribbling. He could even reverse with the ball and then turn to beat his marker again. He had great sense when he came on board but his football suffered due to problems and obstacles. Ikedia was definitely quicker than Finidi. During Finidi's heyday speed was not an essential commodity for players on the flank Ikedia had speed which he relied on heavily to dribble which is why when the injuries piled he became useless because he had no other outstanding ability |

Ikedia was a frustrating player. A decent dribbler but did rely heavily on his speed with absolutely zero football IQ. Tijani might not have been a good dribbler (though even quicker than Ikedia) I'd certainly take Tijani 10 times over Pius Ikedia, we have not had a winger like Tijani and Finidi for years
Tijani was by far the better footballer |

omodapson: I am beginning to think that there is more to todays race. It could be an attempt to deceive people and make it look that some team can challenge Merc. It still beats me, why did the Mercedes team opt for a hard compound tire at the final pit stop for LH when they had a Vettel to catch? Had they opted for a soft, LH would have caught up easily with Vettel. The strategy today was intentional and it's all programmed to shift attention away from the team. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this. If you think its simply about the choice of tires or that Mercedes compromised themselves to make F1 look good then you guys are simply not paying attention. Even with a softer tire LH was not catching Vettel because the Rari had very strong pace today I would not go all out to crown Vettel champion but not even 2 weeks ago I advised you not to write off Vettel ROTFLOL at Alonso. |

If the gap is narrowed down Vettel is better poised to take advantage. Bottas and Massa are not winners Write off the Vettelmeister at your own peril. I said it earlier if there's a window he would kick in the door |

Lol Neuer oo! Still the best goalie on the planet sha. He's allowed an off night
My problem comes from just how badly we played today. Everyone apart from Boa-TANK, Schweini, Rode and Badstuber stank to the high heavens.
Why are we so one-dimensional and clueless in attack without Robbery on the pitch? and why does Guardiola continue with his Spanish paarapo starting Bernat who could really use some quality time on the bench?
The only bright spot for me was seeing Alcantara on the bench. We need a difference maker in the middle
So many questions men. Timely wake up call! Good thing we don't face Dortmund next week! Them for show us shege!

Every week is a battle so teams are exhausted for Europe. Guy bone all this myth and urban legend. Nothing strong about the EPL the level of football is at an all-time low. Juve has the easiest draw of all, they will slaughter Monaco
We should do Porto as well all things being equal
I'd give the edge to Barca against PSG. Verratti is a bigger miss than Zlatan IMO
Real vs Atleti is 50-50 however I'm leaning towards Atleti cos their ginger would be too much. Realistically they are out of the La Liga race and this is what they have left plus they are a serious matchup nightmare for Madrid. Who knows what would have happened last year if Costa and Turan were fit? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by A40(m): 2:25pm On Mar 20, 2015 |
I wanted Madrid but I can't complain. We can't afford to be sloppy even though this is a good tie on paper. From the little I've seen from Porto they have a lot of quick players. Boa-TANK and Benatia or Badstuber have to be on their toes
First leg April 15: Estadio Dragao Second leg April 21: Allianz Arena
Very tough tie for Wolfsburg in the Europa League only other opponents that would have been tougher would be Zenit and Sevilla and ironically they face themselves
De Bruyne would have to conjure all his wizardry to beat another Italian opponent |

Ibime: I've not really seen Juve thís season, but ninjas say the same about Juve every season yet they fail to penetrate the latter stages. Remember they barely made it out their group, they were fighting to qualify with Galatasaray of all people. So if you ask me, a declining Dortmund made them look good. I will not draw judgement till I see them face a top team. I agree with the latter. Dortmund were a hot mess yesterday. Although good on Juve to take advantage. I still think a Madrid, Bayern, Atleti and Barca would tear them to shreds but against any other team they have a decent chance of making the semis Kovacic is rather uber-sluggish at times I suspect he would struggle adjusting to England. Icardi is the only player I would pick from Inter atm although you guys might not need him |

SIRcumalot: I don't think I have ever seen an MVP coming from an 8th seeded team. Funny thing if it isn't for the recent Triple double run he won't be getting this much attention for MVP. D12 might not be the best anymore but he still a defensive beast that Harden kept them in 4th place in the west his no Joke. Always a first time for everything The truth is with Howard there is no possibility they would be higher than 4th. OKC are not 8th with a healthy Durant they even have Ibaka out over the past 3-4 games so looking at OKC's seeding is a bit deceptive |

SIRcumalot: Westbrook standing in the West isn't helping matters they might not even get the 8th seed. Harden has played without dwight almost all season he deserves this trophy. AD isn't their yet when he had that injury his team carried on like nothing was wrong. Curry is favourite to win it though if I had my wish the MVP na Harden. Chale! Do you realize Westbrook also missed almost 20 games? Do you think OKC would be 8th if Westbrook and Durant had not missed over 50 games combined? Are you comparing Dwight who isn't even the best center in the Western Conference to a Durant who is one of the top 2 players in the League? |

FBS: oh ho. You can dance sekem or galala, who cares? I don't.
I watch different type of sports all the time. So what? JM is helping the team - We are 6 points clear (with a game in hand) and with a cup (yes, that Milk one) in the bag. How else is a manager supposed to help his team? Play on the pitch or ref the match? By focusing on tactics and the actual performances of his players. That's how managers help their team. He can do that without chatting megedefegede to the journalists. FBS: Of course the jonours disturb him or did he call up BBC and Skysport or Eurosport for an interview or they called him up? He granted an interview and decided to blow his own trumpet. An attitude that might be frowned down upon but who says it is entirely wrong? If you are good, then you are allowed to say it. I personally do not see anything hilarious here. You and I know JM cannot survive without the attention. Their relationship is clearly symbiotic Was he asked about his past achievements? We know what he has achieved and no one can ever take it away from him. Why so insecure? FBS: Y'all should quit playing that self-righteous tune, especially some i.di.ot who feels the numbers of post on NL equates to the right to knock other people down, the muppet who generally (and as we all know) frequently foam at the mouth. Its not about self-righteousness but basic ethics and values expected from a sportsman. Show class in defeat and victory FBS: Or even you omo iya (got mad respect for you) but did you not defend yourself when folks turned on you say you switched sides (L'ar..se to Banshyt Munich. ) ? Why didn't you just say - no comments? Of course and I am unapologetic for that but what is the correlation btw personal decision (me returning to my footballing roots) and this? No one put Jose under duress. Na paranoia been make am dey jabo FBS: Yes, I agree he (JM) talks too much but that is his style. Can't and won't change the man. We at Chelsea love him and I speak not just for myself but for millions of us - not counting that absolute pinhead who openly prayed for our defeat when the JM-wannbe got the boot. No one would deny you your right to love JM after all he has done for y'all same way others also have the right to hate on JM for utterances like that |

FBS: You do know that Silverbacks are gentle right? but when disturbed they make a lot of noise. Del Bosque (baba onirunmu) is Del Bosque and JM is JM. Each with his own style. But let's see, you and I are here talking about JM and not about the collective shambolic performance from the players on that night. From JT to The Guv'nor. They were pathetic. JM is not a dummy, he is a winner and knows just what to do to get things done. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. But nobody, not you or any other iindividuum has the right to play self righteous here. At least I know some people on this thread who claim to support CFC since 1466 due to the number of posts they have on NL. Tell me how is that different? The koko is this - sometimes, you just need to go on the offensive to ward off unnecessary kasala. PS; oore, what do I care to know what haters are happy or not happy about? weri concern Omo Oba? I send anybody? No I don't. Off to watch Real Madrid. Cheerio omo iya. Who disturbed Mou in that interview? Simple no comment would have sufficed! Forget self-righteous of course the players messed up but what did Mourinho do to help his team win aside yarning megedfegede to the press? Go on the offensive? Is football played on the tabloids? Shebi we are seeing the results of his offense. Oo npe No one is asking you to send or not but when people are dancing sekem after every loss. Nobody should be busy acting suprised, salty or nothing like that nateevs: Tell me about it. Like this is the only way to 'divert attention from your team' 'handle the media' or 'defend your team. How people are making stoopid excuses for utterances that plainly egoistic, I cannot understand. As if people have not been defending their teams before JM was born. Its very hilarious tbh. What does defending your team have to do with braggado-ing? I have never seen Del Bosque, Heynckes, Guardiola, Ancelotti talk about their past titles. I watch basketball all the time and if you ask Gregg Popovich will never tell you he has won 5 rings in any interview. Its childish |
