Against City we can win. For every Navas we have a Willian. For every Silva we have an Oscar or a Mata. Yaya might be difficult but nothing Ramirez cant handle. aguero? Eto and Torres will get the job done.
But you sef know as Yaya Toure dey always swallow that midfield like amala and efo riro na

The day of the Marios! I heard this is Mandzukic's first brace since joining Bayern is this correct?

I think we started slowly as usual! I can only hope Robben and Kroos's injury isn't too serious! The good thing is Martinez is back and Gotze is also beasting we badly needed to win with Leverkussen and Dortmund winning as well

Poor Schalke injuries to Farfan and Huntelaar has certainly crippled them! They should be scoring those PK's tho

Johnpaul88: And you think there will be another round of voting? Know that as soon as the 23 shortlist is revealed, the winner is already known. Any thing done by any player after tuesday adds nothing to their chances of winning.
What is this ninja talking about? Shebi na captain, coaches and journos go vote so who told you what is done after Tuesday will not count? Anyway no need for too much talk when the time comes you shall see

Starting XI
Neuer - Rafinha, Boateng, van Buyten, Alaba, Lahm, Robben, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Ribéry, Müller

Bench
Mandzukic,Martinez,Gotze,Contento,Hojbjerg

Johnpaul88: Today's classico should also be very important to Bayern munich fans especially since they have a bid to see Ribery crowned the Ballon d'or winner in January. Since the final short list for the award will not be announced until tuesday, it's easy to see the magnitude of influence this game will have on the choice of the winner come january. Ribery & his fans will hope that Messi and/or Ronaldo will not steal the show, because if for example, Messi puts up a strong performance, that will be all the voters will need to see before they cast their votes. Ribery and all his performances in the treble winning season, will be for nothing! It'll eventually be forgotten because he does not feature in el Classico. The only way to stop this from happening is to pray that Messi does not have a great game in a Barca win.
Hahahahahahaha
But Messi knows all this too and will know how to respond.

The timing for the announcement of the final shortlist and the el classico, is not coicedental. This is how it have been happening over the years especially last five years. That 's why it's always difficult for players who does not play in the Classico to win the most coveted individual award. Their wonderful performances over the course of the year would have been forgotten and it leaves only the classico hero as the easy winner. Afterall it's biggest club football match in the world!
Ol boy calm down! The list coming out on Tuesday is actually the 23 man one and not the shortlist
Johnpaul88: Will he now?
Pep hates players questioning his authority, everyone does. Robben 'll eventually go the way of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Pep, not minding all his coaching prowess and ingenuity, there is still evidence that he fails in player management. There were alotta fractions with different players when he was still with us and only way he appears to settle them is to sanction the sale of the player. But i know he'll improve in this respect as his career in coaching gains more years.

Btw if he does the inevitable and sanction the sale of Robben, i'll so much love to see him Barcelona. He remains my Bayern favourite player and was a reason i supportted them when i did. His deft movement & close control remains only second to Messi. I'll celebrate his Ballon d'or winning as much as i always do for Messi. But now one old frenchman with some strange wrinkles on the face is gonna come around to look for what does not belong to him. But we'll see that he doesn't!
Sale of Robben?? Don't be suprised when he scores and runs to meet Pep! Maybe you have forgotten Robben getting a knuckle sandwich from Ribery and fighting Muller! This matter is resolved already so if that's your prayer sorry oh you go jonze wella

Which players did he fail to manage? Pedro,Pique? Are they not stinking up the joint for Barca on a weekly basis till now

afrodoc: ok let me EDUCATE you. Please do not reject knowledge
in the history of the athletic championships the score is 13-1 in favor of Germany
in the history of the Olympic games the score is 20-9 in favor of Germany.
And in case u were wondering 5 of Britain's 9 in the Olympics came in the first 40years of the Olympics before the 2nd world war when they were still playing table soccer cheesy
Elampiro knows little! If his belief is Great Britain is on the brink of dominance because of a good show in the tournament they HOSTED then ninja is in la-la land

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IAAF_World_Championships_in_Athletics

So much for Britain is the best in track and field! If you add East Germany's total that expands the gap even more embarrassingly between both countries
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 11:09pm On Oct 25, 2013
elampiro: Olympic is a combination of many games, not just one. The British are gain complete dominance in some of the games. Now they triumphed twice. I guess they even beat Russia the last time.

It is not a one off victory in 2008. Two consecutive run meant they are here to stay. They are now a better Sports people than Germans.

On the other head, Brazil holds the confederation cup at the expense of Spain, the European champion.
This guy go just dey give us zobo! The British dominated which games? Where did you throw US and China?

elampiro: Population:

The whole of Britain is 60m

Germany is 80m

Yet most of the athletes are from England which is 50m.

Germany should be shred into smaller countries. Too big and powerful in Europe.
That means China and India should have won about 10 World Cups between them if its all about population

elampiro: You want us to go into details or elaborate? The British are better sports people than Spanish, Germans and Italians put together. Go and add all the gold medals of all the three whether they got close to what Britain won at the olympics. The British command some sports/games.

Italy, Germany, Spain are not the best in football. It's Brazil. So also England is the 2nd best in Cricket and one of the best in Rugby. In the tracks, the British are better too. I stop here for now.
The argument was England vs other nations! Stop lying and adding 3 other countries to buttress your debate

elampiro: How many gold medals did Germany win in last olympics? Compare with Britain. The British are stronger in the track and Swimming. May be even Basket ball and Golf.
Swimming, basketball do you know what you are even saying? Can you list two elite British/English swimmers or basketballers? Lool I'll wait
Why should we compare with Britain (A combination of 4 countries!) Compare with England and stop doing ojoro

British are strong in track indeed! Shebi its the Mo Farah that was stolen from Somalia that makes em strong

I can give you Boxing and Rugby but that's about it

elampiro: What does Dayokanu & co enjoy in Bindesliga sef? Over 90% of their matches are not only boring but annoying. See Stuttgart vs Nurberg is like punishment to me. Every five minutes I saw was like I took 6 stroke of the cane. Now I ended with a body pain. It is tantamount to watching Kuwait U21 vs Venezuela U21.

I will rather see QPR vs Wigan.
What is fun in Stoke vs West Brom? Or Sunderland vs Newcastle? We saw EPL products at the last Euros and their show of shame against Italy we also saw them at the last World Cup as well

Interesting facts I lifted from the web. Especially for all those that choose and insist on attributing Vettel's brilliance to just his car and supporting cast and zero recognition of his actual skills

FACTS
Red Bull (2006-2008) C. Horner + A. Newey + D. Coulthard + M. Webber

DID NOT WIN ANY SINGLE RACE

Toro Rosso (2008)
S. Vettel won the ONLY RACE in TR history.

Red Bull (2009)
S. Vettel: won 4 races + vice champion

Red Bul (2010-2013)
S. Vettel 4 titles

elampiro: In the lawn tennis threads I saw people arguing that Andy Murray was overhyped by British media and that he would never win a grand slam or any major journey. They said he had no skills etc and that they will drink poison if Murray won a grand slam.

In 2011 Summer I stayed up late to saw it all when he won USA open with such a flair. I quickly opened a thread about it and behold Murkina moved it to front page within minutes, if not seconds, even though it was about 2 am a night. On the thread haters said it was a fluke. Now he has shut them with a Wimbledon open.

elampiro: If almost all of them won champions league then it meant they are actually gifted individually and technically. They are not over hyped in my opinion. Liverpool was the most feared team in Europe during Bernitez. They played two finals and were winning home and away.

England have only not done well collectively but individually the players can hold their own any where. English clubs were always in the UCL last four between 2005- 2009. So the players deserve their ratings. I see no over hype there.
How many of the players on these teams were English to start with? Arsenal's foreign legion is well documented! Liverpool save for Gerrard,Carragher was largely foreign,Chelsea too! Man United is probably the only team that can boast of a largely English make up and its less than half of the Starting XI add to the fact that English players were usually not the best on their teams that should tell you they were carried along for the most part

*** This bashing of English players and England is ridiculous to me. The belief that England players are overhyped is just a myth. Before 2010 what had Spain (the under achievers of European football then) ever done in world football?

*** I guess England has a world cup just as Spain. England has reached Q and S finals of the world cup and Eufa cup in a number of time. It had to be a Maradonna's handball in 1986 and a Ronaldinho's fluke of 2002 that that took them out on a very promising journey.
Don't compare England to Spain! The hype levels were never the same. English players and England as a whole are/is massively overhyped and overrated in every sport not just football!

A lot of British fans would argue

Bobby Moore > Franz Beckanbauer
Gordon Banks > Sepp Maier and Lev Yashin
Bobby Charlton > Gerd Muller
Paul Gascoigne > Roberto Baggio
Scholes > Zidane grin grin
Lampard,Gerrard > Xavi,Pirlo

Even
Hamilton > Vettel

The hype is excessive and nauseating hence the collective glee at every big tournament failure!

nitlad: No mention of Guardiola, whom all fingers are pointing to for stirring up the current unnecessary brouhaha. Good.
Why should Guardiola be mentioned? Over the last season and a quarter penalty taking duties have been alternated between Muller and Alaba so what rush of blood to the head led to Robben picking up the ball in the first place? Or do you see Mikel or Mata picking up the ball when Chelsea get awarded a penalty?

If its not Afowofa why should this have been an issue in the first place or did you not know that Robben used to be Bayern's defacto penalty taker? After high profile misses in crucial games in 11/12 he refused to take PK's in the shootout against Chelsea turning down a chance to redeem himself! So what rights does he have to call dibs here?

Assuming Pep did the wrong thing last Saturday any sensible person would realize he tried to make amends by letting Robben do the honors last night! What was Robben's response? He turned it down! That's so immature
