Smh for Tony Romo! 500 yds 5 TD and still ends up with an L! How does this guy do it? Season after season even with gaudy stats you have to wonder why he just keeps phocking up at the crucial moments! I think at this point some blame has to go to his shyte defence guys like Colin Kaepernick,Wilson,Schaub would do worse with that Cowboys team

Talking about Schaub who throws an INT for a TD in 4 straight games! Heard ninjas in H-Town are burning his shirts already

Eli Manning another season fail! Arguably the worst QB in the league right now

Peyton Manning and Drew Brees have been bestial so far! Jimmy Graham too

So we have the Broncos,Chiefs,Saints at 5-0 while the Giants Jaguars are 0-5

Steelers 0-4 undecided

Lol Dortmund are in a universe of shyte right now! They definitely caught a break with the International break

Reus
Sahin
Bender
Hofmann
Sokratis

Not forgetting Piszcek,Gundogan,Schmelzer and old warhorse Kehl all battling injuries

Are the players bodies finally breaking down due to Dortmund's high octane style or are these just coincidences

StarBoard: On the point above, he's injured till december, and fans are not going to like that fact. leave elampiro to keep misyarning.
As per Morrison, i think if you noticed the true story, the Pats were aware of a shooting incident involving Hernandez in college, i think, but somehow still signed him...cutting him off was like medicine after death in my estimation. . .
Yes United is a sports institution, but you have to ask why they took him in if as you say they are not an outreach organization, given his previous antics and background? As long as they deemed it fit to have taken him, it tells me they could as well felt they could manage him.
My point is; like the Pats did to Hernandez till he was indicted, I think United should have given Morrison a fair chance to at least prove himself on the field.

Fergie just loved Paul Scholes to a fault and to the detriment of our midfield, and that's the bitter truth his (Fergie) worshippers do not want to face.
We are watching sha! Let's see if Fellaini comes good because I remember having that argument with Fabville on this forum about that ninja being an average joe

Both teams can be said to have given those players a fair chance. Hernandez had lots of red flags but up till that point he had not been arrested for any wrongdoing and even got a multi-year deal that's evidence of trying

Man U on the other hand did try but this Morrison was a youth talent at best and had not done anything at senior level to demand so much attention and scrutiny. Maybe they didn't wait till he was charged for murder before severing ties but go and ask the Pats if they could turn back the hands of time whether they would not have cut him off much earlier! (Salaries, merchandising,PR) The risk involved in signing him long-term could outweigh the benefits and Utd decided at the end of the day it was not worth it

We also faced almost similar circumstances at Bayern with Breno who did wind up in jail for arson

StarBoard: You may have a point but I think Fergie could at least have tried a little harder to mentor the boy knowing that he was probably from a troubled background.
That's just what I think.
Like coogar said, what about Paul Pogba?
I think Fergie took this "my way or the highway" thing a little to far particularly in his latter years. Not making any excuses for Morrison who by the way is a piece of work, but Fergie hardly tried in my view.
I'm not sure looking back at the whole thing that 1st team players woulda been the kind of positive influence he needed to get his head right.
Anyway lets see how it pans out.

By the way that Hernandez guy is a felon. I think that's actually an extreme side to this argument even if they have a common thread of being rebels, lol
Fergie was awfully wrong about Pogba maybe if he was kept yall would not have needed to throw 27milla into the konga for Fellaini

Same law does not apply to Morrison cause here's the thing Man U is a sporting club not a youth outreach program. There are a lot of other young players out there that could have also used some mentorship and I'm pretty sure at some point a hand was extended to Morrison to clean up his act. Everyone deserves a second chance but with Morrison probably used up his quota

The Patriots would never have signed a felon BTW hence the reason they cut him immediately he got indicted but Hernandez also started from somewhere who is to guarantee Morrison could not end up with jailtime with the way he was going

afrodoc: michael owen was just talking about the problems morrison presented for fergie.
morrison is english and is from the manchester area to boot and has loads of talent,he was always going to be given opportunity like wes brown, welbeck, scholes d nevilles and other local boys with moderate to great talent.

morrison was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend twice, assaulting his own mother. he was arrested for intimidating a robbery victim to try and stop the guy from testifying in court against the robbers (who apparently were friends of morrison). morrison went to the victim's house with a mob to threaten the guy and his family
he had several court ordered counseling programs and fergie tried to integrate him into the senior team, the senior players tried to talk to him but no matter what was tried he just rebelled more and more
You make a good point! Its one thing to be petulant on the pitch like Rooney,Balotelli etc but when your off the pitch theatrics turn you to a potential jailbird then a line must be drawn! Most companies have background checks and shyte so I don't see how Morrison's case should be different

Look up Aaron Hernandez formerly of the New England Patriots. Talent is not enough sometimes

Ribery is just a beast fam! He was unconscious out there

We played extremely well today and were just unfortunate not to take all 3 points. Muller was just too wasteful in front of goal tho and he was denied a surefire penalty. He needs to be more clinical in front of goal as he had the best chances

Coogar has a point, the Chelsea system is not exactly built for strikers to flourish except for an extraordinary striker like Drog.

That is no excuse for Torres flopping though. Torres is lazy and lacks ambition and is only just becoming decent this season. Personally i have no qualms with Lukaku leaving. Having him here doesn't mean he will bang in the goals.
Lol how would they flourish when Fernandud is colonizing all the minutes?

Has Lukaku started 5 games in the EPL since joining Chelsea?

chic2pimp: It is widely accepted Cole is the better defender so I need not say much really.

As I said earlier players from teams that make it into the semis and beyond stand a far greater chance of being chosen. Put Ashley Cole as brazil's or Spain's left back and watch him easily make the team of the tournament.
Faux theory! If you put in a decent performance you would make team of the tournament no matter what nation you come from and no matter how far you advance in a tournament

Paolo Maldini made team of the tournament in Euro 96 and Italy didn't make it past the group stage!

Russia had 3 players in the team of the tournament in Euro 08. That tells us that neither your country or the distance you go in the tournament counts for shyte! Your performance is the koko

It is a mutha-fn disgrace that Ashley Cole has only made 1 team of the tournament list in 5 major tournament attempts! The disgrace increases exponentially when you realize that more space has been allotted to defenders now than it used to be in the days of yore

nateevs: Stoopid argument haf start again.

The better player is one who excels at his primary responsibility, consistently. That, my friend, is Ashley Cole. All this 'Alaba assist this' 'Alaba assist that' is subjective argument and devoid of stern analysis. When the chips are down, Ribery is not playing on the flank and Alaba has to defend against Robben, this is when you know where Alaba's balls sit.
Alo alo oh story story story. Then tell us why Ashley Cole consistently gets r@ped by Walcott all by his lonesome! This is Walcott we are talking about here and we are all aware of his limits

nateevs: It's a tactical advantage for a team when a full back joins the attack, it however stoopid when we begin to overrate the extent of player's primary responsibility on the back of flashes of decent auxiliary contribution.
As a full back you cannot divorce yourself from your attacking duties if you want to be remembered amongst the elite! Cafu,Lizarazu,Carlos,Maicon,Dani Alves etc were not lauded for their defensive abilities alone infact I daresay they were more respected for their offensive output

nateevs: Alaba will remain to me like Jordi Alba; at least until he plays in a team where his back is pushed against the wall and
This is laughable really because Alaba's offensive dexterity is one of the reasons why its difficult to push our backs against the wall
Comparing him to Alba is also laughable because he is a much better defender than Jordi Alba

nateevs: still manages to fend off the likes of Robben, Ronaldo, whilst contributing fairly in attack.
Let him fend off Walcott first

Ibime: Hazard/Robben is up in the air for who takes the right wing, but Mata cannot take shirt from Gotze, Kroos or Muller in this life or the next.
Lool forget that Supercup game Hazard cannot shine Robben's boots! I daresay that's the only game Hazard has had any input this season

Ibime: These guys are midfielders (especially Kroos and Gotze) in every sense of the word who bring big stadiums to their knees eg Nou Camp and Bernabeu and make proven performers like Alonso and Khedira look like babies in the biggest games.
No doubt but I can manage last season's Mata in the hole as he would have Schweini and Martinez to help him in the midfield and do the grunt work. Toss-up between Mata and Muller

Ibime: You can't compare a true midfielder to a forward (Mata) who depends on his midfield to perform before he can come into the game. Mata has to go to the wing to fight for spot with Robben cos no space for him in Bayern middle. Not even close!!
Actually no space on the wings for Mata cos our full backs have to actually track back and help the defense too and he is not as dynamic as Robben or Ribery going forward so that would probably not work
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by A40(m): 12:05pm On Oct 03, 2013
Ibime: Will you shut the fork up you tout?

Best focus on your rubbish you typed about Alaba.

City will beast the league with this midfield no doubt. Can't say that against teams like Bayern, Barca and Dortmund whose midfields I rate more highly. Why should it be surprising for Yaya and Fernandinho to be overrun by a better team playing with six midfielders whilst City are carrying two strikers. It's not rocket science who would win the midfield battle but you still wanna rant rubbish because of Ibime. The pertinent question is which Premierleague manager would not swap their midfield two for Citys. Perhaps only Wenger may decline at this point in time.

Where was this nincompoop when the same Lahm collected 70% possession against his team in Monaco?
As if Man U were not r@ped with this same midfield less than two weeks ago! City just fell to a force higher than them and there's no shame in that

Ibime: Are these not the same nincompoop who put 6 Chelsea players in a combined Barca/Bayern team? Meanwhile I was sure Kroos and even Bayern substitute midfielders would get in before anyone at Chelsea and only gave space to Cech and Ivanovic.

Chelsea should go and play City, lets see whether City would not turn to Bayern.
Aside last season's Mata no Chelsea midfielder would start at Bayern

Of course in recent years City have pretty much dominated Chelsea and last season was the height. I'm very sure this same City midfield would batter Chelsea's to a pulp

Katsumoto: I am no Chelsea fan but Ashley Cole is ahead of Alaba any day. Ashley Cole has been England's number one left back for 12 years, that is no small accomplishment. Defensively and offensively, Cole is a more complete left-back.
Being number 1 in England at anything hardly says much! The mediocrity cuts across almost all sports! Football,Tennis,Boxing,Motorsport the list is ad nauseum

This is a national team yet to make the semis of any major tourney in 23 years

chic2pimp: Quite young. I happily admit. That still did not stop him from molesting other full backs.
He was 19 he gets no points for that bruh

chic2pimp: I still insist there's nothing Alaba can do that Cole can't. I'm pretty sure given the opportunity he can also take free kicks too. Making deep runs is a team effort not an individual one. Simply put, this bayern team is better than any other team Cole has played for.

Highly doubt he'll ever reach Cole's defensive capabilities though I'd gladly take back my statement if I am proven wrong
"Ashley Cole can take freekicks if given the opportunity" I'm sure Per Mertesacker can also take and score freekicks if given the opportunity

I repeat offensively Alaba shytes on Cole! Defensively is the only trump card Cole holds and there is every possibility that would vanish as Alaba matures

It says a lot about Alaba's ability to be a key member of this team at such a young age
nitlad: Correct.

They can't hold their own against the elites, and 1 million Yaya Toures cannot buck the ugly trend.

It irks me this much cos they made Bayansh look like say nor be dem ordinary Arsenal decimate in Germany.
nitlad: It shall not be well with any baggah that comes here to uphold this Man Shitty's midfield as a model again!

Like I said before if you lose either game to Schalke and Basel win both matches vs Bucharest this is a very real possibility

Katsumoto: That isn't true; Cole is better than Alaba.

When Cole retires, he will be mentioned alongside Maldini as one of the best leftbacks ever.

Alaba is good no doubt.
Alongside Maldini bawo? You guys need to chill! He is good but not that good

chic2pimp: I did not say Cole is a defensive full back u lanky slowpoke. What I said is speaking " strictly as a defensive left back", Cole has him beat. And attacking wise I don't see what Alaba is doing now that Cole could not or was doing in his pomp.

What is the primary role of a full back? Is it to attack abi nah defend. And who says Cole does not have attacking instinct?

I guess huth and co have great positional sense and are excellent man markers no be so? Plus Even if all u said is what Cole is only capable of doing, I'd still love to see Alaba do that over the duration of a match.

Abeg give me a 33 years old Cole jare. It's not only Alaba. What about taiye and kehinde KWASIA!!!
Attack-wise David Alaba shytes on Ashley Cole at his prime and he is only 21!! This is not even up for debate! Ashley Cole was not scoring free-kicks or making deep runs in the UCL at 21

Ashley Cole was not in elite LB discussion at 21 abeg specie get level if you are going to argue defensively then that's admissible but age is on Alaba's side to fine tune that part of his game
