nateevs: Since when did the offensive side of a No 3's ability become the yardstick for judging who is better? I can understand people's preference for attacking full-backs (I have a preference myself) but isn't that a separate issue altogether?
Calm down oga Ade offense counts as well. Maicon and Dani Alves used to be widely regarded as the best full backs in the game! Those guys were hardly defensive mavericks. Fact is even the difference on defense you are hanging your hat on is marginal and at 21 Alaba is at least twice the player Ashley was at that age
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by A40(m): 12:42pm On Sep 18, 2013
FBS: So Alaba scores against CSKA makes him a better player than Cole? hehehehehehehe grin

Its clear some people have bean cakes as opolo.
Offensively Alaba is already better than Ashley Cole can ever be! Na the defensive side of his game remain
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: R36L Madrid - Most Successful & Greatest Champ15ns of Spain, Europe & W9rld by A40(m): 10:11am On Sep 18, 2013
FBS: Apparently last night was the first match you watched (if at all you did) so your statement is understandable. The boy still has some miles to cover. Those who follow la liga matches will tell you exactly that.

As for Iker, well Ramos did him in this time and not JM. Wonder what Marca will say now? Though I honestly hate to see a player getting injured. I should know.
I've watched two la liga games from Madrid (Betis,Bilbao) and he has been a stand up guy in both of them! You guys go on like Ozil never had a bad game for Madrid or they didn't struggle at times with him as well
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by A40(m): 9:59am On Sep 18, 2013
Toni Kroos = 98% pass completion last night

dayokanu: The day Cashley is able to make this type of offensive contribution in his entire career is the day England would win the World cup.

Playing as a full back goes beyond blocking shots and giving last ditch tackles while being clueless in the opposition half

Looool every man and his dog knows that at 21 Alaba is already better than Ashley Cole can ever be going forward he just needs to fine tune the defensive side of his game
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 9:51am On Sep 18, 2013
superstar1: Dayokanu and A40 are even shouting Leverkusen is the 3rd best team in BL.

The last I can remember, the 3rd best team in EPL held the supposedly best team in Europe to draw or Leverkusen started the match with 3players short. Abeg, look for another argument. That is totally off it
You mean after the capital punishment we delivered to them in the first leg? Guy forget that match if Bayern needed to win we would win easy

Of course you guys raised your game last night or maybe Leverkussen also played an open game and didn't park the yacht in front of goal like some English teams we know
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: R36L Madrid - Most Successful & Greatest Champ15ns of Spain, Europe & W9rld by A40(m): 12:03am On Sep 18, 2013
Lool Superb performance by Madrid today! Casillas might as well accept his benching in good faith there's no other option

Cry all you want about Ozil but so far Isco is looking like a competent replacement already! Can't believe that boy is just 21
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 11:52pm On Sep 17, 2013
dademola: they shud be copping such stats only in mtches against d likes of barnsley/plymouth/oxford/colchester etc, AND NOT AGAINST D 3RD BEST TEAM IN GERMNAY!! angry angry
We saw the defending Champions of the EPL finish bottom of a group comprising the Spanish,German and wait for it Dutch Champions yet the EPL champions finished bottom!!! What other metric do we need to arbitrate the uselessness of the EPL?

We also saw Man Utd the greatest team in English football finish bottom in a group with Lille,Villareal and Benfica! And just when we thought that was the height they went on and outdid themselves failing to qualify from a group with Basel,Benfica and Otelul Galatians! gringrin

Enjoy your win bro but don't get ahead of yourself

dayokanu: Alaba MOTM for me

I need to get gif of that assist to Robben and let any of those comparing Cashley to him show me when Cole would ever do that
Ashley is on the downward slide but he's 33 so its understandable. Comfortable win in the end! I don't remember us being under much pressure aside from after the first goal

Man City next at Manchester, that tie would be pivotal! But we've defiled Manchester before albeit a different stadium

Would someone please sack that douchegoblin called Todd Haley for goodness sake!! What are the Rooneys waiting for? Is it till the son of a puta turns Big Ben to Blaine Gabbert and the Mighty Steelers to the Jaguars before they smell the coffee? Thanks to the waste of space we have the worst offense in the league and can't even beat average teams like the Bengals and Titans! Sack this baga NOW!

StarBoard: The same Lewandowski we were all wanking over on this thread last April-May.
Leverkusen have given United a torrid time in the past, and I fail to see where the confidence to overwalk them comes from. rubbish league or not, they are a fairly good side not to be taken lightly..
Long standing beef with Loew is the reason he hasn't made Die Mannschaft. The guy is balling out of his mind ATM
You guys are favorites to win the match anyway but there has to be a huge step up from what I've seen so far for Utd to win that match
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 1:09pm On Sep 17, 2013
SailorXY: Wetin this one dey yan?
Dey there dey ask me Jamb question! You have to be in La-la land to think your team as present inspires any fear in Europe

05/06 and 11/12 shoulda taught you not to write off anybody. Write Leverkussen off and yall would pay dearly

StarBoard: @ Mancs,
Don't be quick to dismiss the Germans.
This same Bayer Leverkusen have been tricky customers in the past.
Kiessling is a star in the making and is a very good player.
25 goals and 10 assists! He actually outscored Lewandowski in the league. Sam and Castro are also dangerous customers. They are your toughest opponents in the group
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 10:58am On Sep 17, 2013
dademola: like i sed earlier, we shudnt waste vidic on mediocre opponents frm rubbish leagues. We r gonna claim our rightful position in europe dis season. Watch dis space!
Mediocre league indeed loool you are living in the past my friend! Shey na with Fellaini,Cleverly,Young and Valencia una wan take reclaim Europe? I laugh in parallel PDP

Even with Vidic you guys would be lucky to pull a draw!! You've been warned

dademola: vidic is too big to be playing in matches against such mediocre players from a mediocre league like d bundesliga...especially wen such matches take place at OT
Delusions of grandeur. Dey there dey deceive yourself! Them never born Moyes reach make he no bring him A-team against Leverkussen! If una try am e o je aje yo e o tun di lo le

You guys are hardly the force you used to be in Europe at least I can recall yall struggling with Basel and Benfica getting your asses whooped by Athletic Bilbao at this same Old Trafford even under a vet like Fergie never mind Moyes
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by A40(m): 9:29pm On Sep 16, 2013
nateevs: You just knew it's only a matter of time before the "why did we let them go" posts start showing up. Don't not be fooled that Swansea will set up like this against Chelsea. This is where these boys are usually found out. 80% of the PL will park the bus against Chelsea and it then requires high-level technical ability and good decision making to work the opposition and produce results consistently.

Playing in a Chelsea shirt, it is unlikely you will find all that space. Food for thought.
We are talking of improved movement, decision making etc! I was being sarcastic about Moses anyway but with Sturridge even a bat can see that the kid was mismanaged
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 9:02pm On Sep 16, 2013
dademola: i'd rada rest vidic. I think his aerial prowress wld be key at d etihad. We need him fresh for dzeko/negredo
You want to rest Vidic where Stephan Kiessling and Heung Min Son dey? Good luck with that
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by A40(m): 8:52pm On Sep 16, 2013
Chip Kelly out here running that Madden Offense

Chargers taking this ish though

Philly ish looks pretty, but that ish is way too taxing on their own players stamina, on Both Sides.

That Offense is pretty as hell though i give him that
I dunno if Vick can run that offense the entire season it all boils down to Lesean McCoy

As for RG3 lol come on! Its unheard of for a rookie to throw 5 INTs for an entire season! I don't know why Shanahan rushed him back in again! Especially when they actually have a decent backup QB
Plus their defense is $hit!!!! RG3 must outscore any team to win games

How can a shyte team like the Jaguars front for Tebow by the way? He's still an upgrade on Gabbert (worst QB in the NFL)

Peyton would probably win the Manning bowl again tho he needs to win one more bowl that actually counts! The Superbowl
