n0m0705: Maybe you should change the name to spanish football award. What has cazorla done to merit nomination, accepted he is good, but he has not been outstanding, he is always overshadowed by wilshere anytime wilshere is on the field. And you are here doubting carrick who has been an outstanding and consistent performer for united this season. if anyone is going to come close to being nominated in that arsenal team he should be arteta, he's been the silent backbone of that team, just like carrick.
A player has scored 12 goals and provided 7 assists in his first season from midfield and you are asking me what he has done to deserve nomination? Wilshere ko crutches ni! How many games has he even played? Wilshere can never be as technically gifted as Cazorla is!
Only people consumed by English hype would compare Carrick's performance to Cazorla's this season
Cazorla is the hub! Everything at Arsenal goes through him

Two Completely Different Comparisons.

& You have to compare athletes of Equal Skill Level, To make it correlate.

Hence the reason why i compared the likes of Rod Woodson to Deion Sanders, Two Immortals[/quote]Ninja be shifting the goal post! Whether equal skill level or not the key thing is player's with superior technique and average athleticism always triumphs in the end! They wind up with more titles and have longer careers

MJ's technique is what made him consistent for 14 years
Ronaldo was not a phenomenon because of his athleticism! Look up niggas like Denilson who had raw skill and athleticism but no technique

Nonsense! Please tell us how many playoff series did Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury win combined?

usbcable: see pot calling kettle black.

when you were mentioning 66 goals did you include no of matches? NO.
you choose to highlight what favors you most.
Over the last 2 seasons is a sufficient timestamp to judge players! I used that because that is/was the timeframe that Lewandowski became a significant player! If I wanted to be thoroughly biased I would have based my argument on this season alone

usbcable: why not let us also mention that benzema was constantly being used as a substitue in the matches he also featured for real madrid unlike Lewandowski that was a constant starter.
Why won't he be a substitute when he has lost form? Isn't that what our argument was about? Who is the better striker at the moment! The fact is even in the season Benzema outscored Lewandoski he played a whopping 12 more games and could only manage 2 more goals

usbcable: or highlight the number of assists
or that it was the inefficiency of Dortmund strikers/Poland (Robert being prominent here) that led to him not playing as much games as Karim in the seasons being talked about.

Analysis is subjective My dear and we all have the effing right to use it to our advantage.(full stop)
Assists is not the primary metric by which strikers are judged! By the way La Liga has more games than the Bundesliga plus even the cup games are home and away unlike the knockout format used in Germany and England

Its mind-boggling! This is a team that really need him and could actually cos an upset with their defence if they get him back! I just don't see the anxiety and ginger in him to play which is rather suprising and in contrast to his kamikaze style on the floor

occam: Feeling great this morning. I hoped and prayed for a Spurs vs Lakers match up; and I got it. The series can go either way or Spurs sweeps. very unpredictable and intriguing. I'll go with Lakers in 7. why? A banged up Spurs team is what the Lakers need. As one ESPN commentator said the "Spurs engine is leaking oil" and not sure if Pop can fix things on time.

Plus, ironically Kobe's absence may put less pressure on guys and can play loose. Though it feels unreal without Kobe in the mix of things. Gasol is key in this series. Timmy and Dwight cancel out each other.
Its unreal just how much Kobe carried the Lakers this season! He's in the top 4 in total minutes played with Lillard (Blazers) Kevin Durant and Monta Ellis. All 3 guys combined have only spent 15 years in the league two short of Bryant

Spurs can't sweep LA regardless but I think they might be too good for the Lakers! It all boils down to who can stop Tony Parker

Ferrari acted like a desperate monkey, RBR saw it, and decided to threw them a banana, which they jumped at and fell short.

And? Does this mean all right hand men are better than their superiors? There's a reason why they are right hand men

Johnpaul88: There were even some suggestions that Pep owed most of the tactical innovations he used while he held sway as Barca's coach, to Vilanova.
That's what they are suggestions

Johnpaul88: Not taking anything away from Pep, Vilanova's been the tactical genius from which Pep tapped from. He 's shown that already this season he 's been with us as head. We have not lacked in tactical wise this season. It's only been injuries that have consistently disrupted his plans, but he always seems to know what to do.
Nansense! Are you saying that Pep didn't have to deal with injuries too? Where did you even come up with these unfounded claims! "Pep taps his tactical genius from Villanova"

Johnpaul88: However , in time, we all will find out if Pep is the real tactical genius we all thought he is. Or was he just a fortunate guy who happened to be in the right place at the right time and have all things moving for his good .
Anyone that doubts Pep's ability has to be mentally challenged! We all know where Barca was before he took over and where they are now! His brilliance even rubbed off on the NT and Spain are no longer the perennial underachievers they used to be

Johnpaul88: As for Tito, he 's already proven he can hold his own at the highest level. I regret that his feeble health may force him to prematurely leave football althogether. But i love the guy already and barring another relapse, he may yet surpass whatever Pep may have achieved in Barcelona.

Johnpaul88: Yeah it's true you have to beat us to win the champions league. But it's also true that if we lose out in one season, we get it in the next. Man united beat us in the semis of 2008, we got it in 2009. Inter eliminated us the following year but we won again 2011. Chealse was our nemesis last year, so assuming the trend continues, we'll be celebrating again come 25th may.
This present Barca team is suspect I wouldn't bet on yall celebrating on the 25th
