Nope it's the other way round. They actually got 4 past Burundi.
Yes I agree Chikwelu & Ayinde are spent already. Ajibade could be more impressive I totally agree. I don't see them going far anyways.
Which country is better than the falcons in the competition?

South Africa team will collect anytime they meet again. Our girls will no longer depend on Ashoala to deliver. Dat lazy oyibo defender will not be there and also that goalkeeper.

Ashoala was becoming a distraction to the team but her absence will make the difference. Players were always looking for her with the ball. Other players will shine as the falcons progresses in the competition.

KosiGee:
Ajibade is supposed to be one of the best players in this team but she is a let down. She in my opinion is one of the worst. Her ball juggling and other skills go AWOL whenever she’s playing, she can be slow in making decision and when she does, she executes poorly. She sometimes hold onto the ball a bit too long when she’s supposed to release to a better placed player. She over hits her passes or passes a bit too short.

Best player in the team so far is the tall Yekini like no 9, Onumonu. She need to improve on her shooting though.

The Ajibades, Chikwelu, Ayinde need to improve their games. This is not the falcon of old.

Congrats to them but this isn’t the team to judge or make any assesment. This Botswana team conceded 4 against Burundi and Burundi.
Botswana defeated Burundi

EducationBREAKING: Strike Can End Tomorrow – ASUU by AAA593(op): 8:29am On Jul 05, 2022
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has revealed that the ongoing industrial action can end tomorrow.

According to the Union, the industrial action will end immediately once the federal government addresses their concerns.

This was disclosed by the ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday night.

Osodeke also revealed that the Union has reached an agreement with the federal government, but no signatures have been signed.

Osodeke said the insistence by ASUU
on using its own payment platform, the University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS), was a key demand the government must accept.

“As far as ASUU is concerned, the strike can end tomorrow,” Osedeke said.

“We have finished the negotiation. If the government calls us now to come and sign the agreement, we will be there tomorrow.

“Let the government tell us they have finished testing the UTAS and we have accepted it, then we will call off the strike.

“When will they sign the agreement? When will they accept UTAS? Those are the two questions we should ask the Nigerian government,” Osodeke added.

DAILY REPORT recalls that the ongoing strike is in its fifth month, after the lecturers shutdown schools in early 2022.

EducationNo End In Sight To ASUU, Federal Government Face Off by AAA593(op): 7:58am On Jun 30, 2022
There appears no end in sight to the strike by university teachers as the national president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, said they are yet to hear from the government, after meeting with Prof. Nimi Briggs renegotiation committee.

The committee is expected to review the draft proposed 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement and renegotiate with all the striking unions.

Since April 2022, the Briggs renegotiation committee had been meeting with the unions to address the thorny issues in the 2009 agreement.

Osodeke in an interview said they are yet to hear from the Federal Government on the report of meetings had so far.

He said: “Since our meeting with the Briggs committee, the government has not called us for any feedback. All the committee told us was that they are waiting for their principal to respond, that once the Federal Government responds, they will get back to us.”

Osodeke said they had not gotten the invitation for another meeting and nothing is happening for now.

He, however, lamented that this was the situation since May 2021, “the same way they told us they were waiting for the FG and yet no result.”

Similarly, the national president, of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Ibrahim Mohammed, said all they have done were appraisals and reviews, while the Briggs committee said it would report to the Federal Government for the next line of action.

While ASUU commenced strike on February 14, SSANU’s strike started with a warning strike of two weeks, which commenced on March 27.

Some of the demands of SSANU include the inconsistent issue of Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), unpaid earned allowances, and delay in the renegotiation of FGN, SSANU, Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and allied institutions (NASU) agreements, and non-payment of minimum wage arrears.

Others include neglect and poor funding of state universities, non-payment of retirement benefits to outgoing members of the unions, and usurpation of the headship of non-teaching units in clear violation of conditions of service and establishment procedures, among others.

ASUU’s demands include the release of revitalisation funds for universities, renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement, release of earned allowances for university lecturers, and deployment of the Universities Transparency and Accountability System (UTAS) for payment of salaries and allowances of university lecturers

In other news...

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has observed that resolving its ongoing strike action could be done by the adoption of the transparent payment platform, University Transparency and Accountability Solutions (UTAS).

So far so good, the only reason why we have been at home for the past 4 months is not because of salary arrears or revisitation funds.

The strike has always been because OF UTAS-A payment platform which ASUU designed to suit their own taste.

Meanwhile the army, doctors, police, etc are not complaining about IPPIS.

ASUU ARE JUST BEEN WICKED and they don't give a damn about we students.

They should be banned

#ENDASUU #ENDUTAS
I don't even know where to start replying you from. You don't even know why ASUU’ is on strike, but you are trying to know using the wrong format.

IPPIS payment platform is not suitable for the Nigerian tertiary institution system. You cannot run the university like the police, army etc. Try to understand how the university system works before attacking ASUU.

Who told you that doctors, police etc are not complaining about Ippis payment platform? This month your salary is 110k and by next month it's 95k. You don't even know what you are saying.

IPPIS is not robust enough to cater for peculiarities of lecturers. Also, visiting lecturers (adjunct & sabbatical) cannot be captured in IPPIS for working in more than one institution, illegal deductions etc

What is the essence of renegotiation for better pay for ASUU members when those benefits will be hijacked with Irregular monthly salaries and illegal deductions by IPPIS in Abuja. Maybe you were dreaming when the Accountant General of the federation was arrested for stealing billions of naira via IPPIS and other payment platforms.

The likes of SSANU, NASU etc that were deceived into enrolling in IPPIS are now saying that they don't want their salaries be paid via IPPIS. SSANU and NASU members are suffering financially because of the malicious/ new rates of deductions they are experiencing in their salaries. These are clear indications that IPPIS is not suitable for the Nigerian university system.

Ask yourself why CBN, FIRS, NNPC and other related departments are not getting paid by IPPIS? The platform is not suitable for them.

The introduction of IPPIS is not backed by law. As an entity, a Nigerian university is backed by an act giving it the freedom to run itself, and the introduction of a central payroll system is an infringement on this right.

Who told you ASUU is wicked to students? Girl you need to chill o. You no even understand anything about ASUU/FG fight.

ASUU should be banned grin grin. No dey comments for ASUU posts again. I beg
EducationRe: ASUU Proffers Solution To Ongoing Strike by AAA593:

I believe that domesticating IPPIS in the universities and having ASUU monitor its operations would solve the problem of undue deductions and reduce the stress of lecturers having to travel to Abuja sort out issues with payments.
Abuja cabals will never ever allow that
EducationRe: ASUU Proffers Solution To Ongoing Strike by AAA593: 10:17pm On Jun 25, 2022
Jman06:
I just hope ASUU excos are thinking properly!

From the way the payment platform issue is going, it is looking like an impossible task for ASUU to insist on UTAS. Already, SSANU has developed another platform which they called U3P or whatever. Very soon other unions will start coming up with their own platforms thereby defeating the noble purpose of IPPIS. No leader would want to be in that situation!

ASUU should please, in the interest of students, stop this insistence on UTAS. Instead, let them work with the FG to domesticate IPPIS in the various universities in order to help monitor the platform and curtail the bottlenecks in IPPIS.

Let them strive to always fight a just fight and not a fight that would create chaos in the polity. If they've been able to negotiate better pay with the Brigg's committee, let them forget UTAS and work on improving IPPIS, otherwise, they maybe giving Nigerians the impression that they have another fraudulent agenda with the UTAS platform.
Fraudulent ke. ASUU cannot receive better pay with Ippis. Ippis will do illegal deductions and tax deductions

You're right, and that is why they set up Briggs committee to help them do the talking and they have since finished their talks, unfortunately, the problem of the Universities does not end with just the Education Ministry! There is issue of finance (Ministry of Finance), issue of technicalty of payment platform (NITDA), you can not leave out the National Universities Commission (NUC) out of things like this, and so on. Besides, the whole problem is a labour issue and that is where Ngige comes in!

From what I am even able to gather, FG has already agreed to most of their demands except this their UTAS thing! To me, I think they should just collect their salaries and leave the IPPIS alone!
IPPIS is an infringement on universities’ right to autonomy. Central payroll system cannot work in our universities. No be ministry work o.

Also, there are certain peculiarities which IPPIS does not cater for in the university system. Some of these are sabbatical staff, adjunct lecturers, contract staff, and other academic allowances for working in more than one institution.” this is a global practice.
