I concluded my B.A last month and waiting for the next NYSC batch. I always wanted to serve in Kaduna because of my military ambition, fortunately but unfortunately enough, i have a family that doesn't take well to me going far North as i had imagined. Therefore, using the insights of past corps members and serving personnel of the scheme, i would like to inquire which among these states is good for service, bearing in mind my career plans and job opportunities; Kaduna, Abuja, Bornu, Lagos, Katsina, Kano and Sokoto. Your inputs will be of immense value.

Are you interested in military only? Or can paramilitary be an option too? Well from my experience of once being a corp member in the north, living there even after service and my little research. I think kaduna, Kano and Jigawa will give you an edge. Abuja and Lagos can also fetch you the connection if you know what to do at the right time.

Registration mostly begins in February. Gather information on states you'd like to go to and try work it out if you feel your chances of getting there is slim. (I can help you with it).

When I see people say it's not good "working out your NYSC" I wonder if they are in this country (not an insult though) but if I can go back to NYSC service now, I would do anything to get a state with better opportunities and connections. I trust God so much but that's why he gave us humans the ability to make decisions for ourselves called "choice". Meeting people,learning new cultures and so on is the aim of NYSC but what happens after the 1year? Remember there's life after service and it's highly frustrating if after service there's no job and connection to help you get there. Am not here to pick a state for you but with God all things are possible and if you wish to work it to a state where you feel life will favour you,then go for it. I know so many people that got favoured either way. Am also a computer Engineer and if you desire to open up a business related to your discipline, then the north is a good place to start.

Bt we were told back in Taraba camp that, taraba state nysc will pay all the Corpers that did relocation December allowee, after which from next year the new state will start the payment

Taraba state isn't the FG so there's no way only Taraba state will pay corpers and the other states won't pay. Usually when one leaves camp,the following month displays "absent" on your dashboard for clearance which is normal. But don't worry, they sometimes pay double allowee when your passing out.

If your not paid for this month,they'll pay double when your about to pass out. No clearance, no payment

Lol yes I know. State allowance comes every month end or some states pay every 2 months. Enquire about the payment method of yours or just wait for month end. There must be an account you registered for the state allowance.
