WASTE PLASTIC BOTTLE SUPPLY BUSINESS The value chain in plastic recycling business is so long that you can start from any of the level If your business is to supply the waste plastic PET to various recycling or plastic manufacturing Companies, below is the process. 1. Get your supply You can get your supply from the following sources • By sourcing from the environment yourself • Buy from Environmental agency workers e.g LAWMA, OGWAMA, ESEMA, e.t.c • Buying from scavengers • Construct a cage with inserted label “Plastic Bottles only “. Place this cage in busy area such as markets, schools, hotels, recreation centers, shopping malls, religious centers, etc. • Buy or source from manufacturing companies that dispose this materials as their waste products. • Get from any other legal means, etc. 2. Separate the materials After getting your supply, you then separate them according to their thickness/colour. • PET bottles of same colour/Thickness goes to one section • Cappings ( Plastic bottles cover) of same colour goes to one section • Pure water Nylon of same colour/Thickness goes to one section 3. Removal of Label, Cleaning and drying. If the plastic is dirty, cleaning is necessary. The main cleaning steps are: • Drain the remaining fluid from the containers into a collection tank • Rough clean the plastic containers and other pieces of plastic. • Remove labels, stickers, etc from the body of the PET bottle. • Wash effectively in cold or hot water with addition of detergents or caustic soda • Dry the plastics naturally (sun) or mechanically (conveyor Oven). 4. Scale the materials The materials should be scaled (weight) to 10kg, 20kgor 30kg and then transferred to baling (Compacting) machine 5. Bale (Compact) the Materials The scaled (weight) materials are then put inside a baling (compacting) Machine, which is use to press the materials to a specific dimensions for easy transportation. 6. Store the products You then stack your products for easy loading to vehicles 7. Supply your Products Below are your markets where to supply your products to • Middle Men • Plastic recycling companies • Plastic manufacturing Companies • Plastic Exporting agents • etc Equipment Needed 1. Baling Machine 2. Washing Tank ( Optional) 3. Scale ( at most 50kg) 4. Space ( at least ½ Plot of Land ) For Enquiries, sales and fabrication of plastic recycling machines. Business of Manufacturing/Sales of Plastic Lumber Introduction Plastic lumber are regular shape building material structural sections which are made from recycled plastics (e.g. PET bottles, buckets, Plastic Containers, PVC-pipes Nylons, pure-water satchet, etc.). They can be produce to the various sizes of wooden/Steel building materials. E.g 2”x2”; 2” x 4”; 4”x 4”; 1”x 12”, 1- 6” round bar, etc. Uses Depending on their shapes they can be used for various purposes e.g Fencing, Rails, Frame structures, benches/Tables, Floor decking, Landscaping/garden furniture, Heavy duty machine flat shock absorber, storage boxes, etc Benefits of Using Plastic Lumber 1. They last longer. They don’t get rotten or corrode by air/water as in the case of wood and steel. 2. They have very low installation and maintenance cost. 3. They are cheaper than wood and steel 4. They can be recycled and shaped for other purpose. 5. When use as bench, they are softer and more comfortable than wood or steel. 6. When use as fence, nails can be easily driven and remove at any point. Where to sell them. The easiest place to sell them is in wooden or building materials market. In this place, they are stock alongside wood or steel where buyers can have alternative materials. Manufacturing process Plastics granules are fed into and mixed in an extruder where rapid melting and homogenization occur. A vertical screw plunger discharges the material into a mold. The mold is then cooled in a cooling Tank or in a water spray tunnel and thereafter sent to the section where the products are cut into various sizes. Equipment The major equipment needed for manufacturing plastic lumber are 1. Plastic Extruding Machine 2. Mold 3. Cooling Tank 4. Other accessories e.g cutter, Die, scale, etc. For Fabrication, sales and Services of Plastic recycling Equipment, Please contact AB&C Machinery Nigeria 0806-116-3053, 0805-788-3203 www.abcmachinery.com.ng info@abcmachinery.com.ng abcmachineryng@gmail.com

Introduction In Nigeria, recycling of plastic waste is one area anybody can easily venture into. The raw materials are easily found everywhere. Processing companies are looking for more suppliers to meet their needs. Plastic waste that can be recycled includes PET bottles, Nylon bags, sachet-water nylon, PET-bottle caps, plastic containers, Nylon bags, etc. Plastic recycling business is so vast that fortunately or unfortunately as the case may be, only few people are doing it. Value-Chain in Plastic Recycling Business Plastic waste collection/ Sorting / Storage – Stage 1 Baling – Stage 2 Shredding (Plastics) or Agglomeration (Nylon) – Stage 3 Pelletizing – Stage 4 From the value chain above you can enter into the business of plastic recycling in any stage depending on your financial capacity. Plastic Waste collection/ Sorting/Storage – Stage 1 This stage is the simplest of the value chain. It is mostly dominated by our brothers from the North with high/tight trading network. However you can get your supply from other source e,g manufacturing companies waste, schools, hotels, supermarkets, etc. Supplier/Collection/Sorting – scale – storage – sell Equipment Needed: (1) Weighing Scale (2) Packing Bags (Optional) Baling – stage 2 One thing about plastic recycling business is that the more you move down the value chain, the more money you make. You will make more money if you bale/sell than selling directly. Plastic recycling companies pay higher per kilo for baled products. Baling is very important especially when transportation/distance are considered. It is better to compact (bale) plastic waste for easy handling and size reduction to save cost during transportation. Note: Before Baling, plastic waste should be cleaned and sorted. Supplier – Scale – Bale – Stack – Sell Equipment Needed: (1) Scale (2) Baling Machine Shredding or Agglomeration – stage 3 If you want to go into plastic recycling business through this stage, you need a plastic shredding machine (Machine for cutting of plastics into pieces [flakes]) or an Agglomerator (Machine for grinding Nylon into powdery form [Agglomerates]) Having these machines you can operate in two or either ways Buy from suppliers, Shred or agglomerate and sell to plastic recycling companies or Operate as a milling station whereby people come to your place to shred or agglomerate and pay you for your service. Supplier – Scale – Shred or Agglomerate – Store – Sell Equipment Needed: (1) Scale (2) Shredding Machine or Agglomerator Pelletizing – stage 4 Pelletizing machines converts plastic flakes or Agglomerates to granules before they are been sold to plastic manufacturing companies that uses extrusion, Injection or blow mould to form them into various plastic shapes. If you want to go into the business at this stage, you need a pelletizing machine Supplier – scale – Pelletize – Store – sell Equipment Needed: (1) Scale (2) Pelletizing Machine for sales, supply and Installation of these recycling equipment call/whasapp 0806-116-3053 or 08057883203 ( call only ) or visit www.abcmachinery.com.ng 1 Like 1 Share

Waste Nylon is found everywhere in our environment and is a good avenue for business. It involves three chains, depending on where you are starting from. The process involves 1. Sourcing of waste Nylon Materials 2. Grinding of Waste Nylon Materials 3. Extruding (Blowing) of Grinded Nylon. 1. Sourcing of Waste Nylon Materials i. Personal Picking: This is the simplest form of sourcing waste nylon materials. It involves no cost. You pick as much as you can. Note that this method may not give you high quantity of materials ii. Road Cleaners: you can negotiate with Road cleaners working with waste management agencies like LAWMA, OGWMA, etc Give the “Road cleaners “ your Nylon specification, then tell them your offer per kg as well as the minimum quantity they should supply. iii. Resturant, Eatries, Shopping Mall, etc: you can get high supply of waste Nylon from this source. A good number of them will be very happy if you can help them evacuate these waste materials from their premises. iv. Pure water/Manufacturing Companies: you can get high volume from this source. Apply to the company as a buyer of waste products. 2. Grinding of Waste Nylon Materials Grinding is done by operators that uses grinding machines (Agglomerator) to grind the waste nylon into smaller particles which are used as raw materials for blowers, extruder, injection mold, pelletizer etc to produce various plastic product. You can sell your collected waste Nylon to these operators or grind them using their machines which they will charge you per kg then sell to plastic manufacturing companies. 3. Extrusion Plant These are Individual, small or big companies that have extrusion machines for the manufacturing of Nylons or other plastic products. With extrusion machine i. you can produce Nylon films of different colours for various customers ii. Produce your own products and sell iii. Act as a major producer/supplier to big companies.
