The loss of Osun State, it comes to pass as all indications appear, is not Aregbesola’s fault.
And it is not vindication for him either.
Osun has always been a close call.
In fact, almost all of the SW states are always tough, close calls.
Ogun is probably the exception.
Lagos has times of anxiety too.
Which tells me a couple of things:
1. No governor should take the people for granted. No party should take the people for granted.
2. While our democracy may not be perfect, it is improving. The era of stuffing ballot boxes is over. The era of just writing in votes is over. The era of the Baba Adedibus and God fatherism is over.
3. When winners of elections are not certain until elections are held, votes collated and counted, democracy is working. If democracy is working, it means there's hope for the opposition parties to thrive.
I vote for democracy over dictatorship.
We must give credit to law enforcement agents and election officials for their impartiality and seeming effectiveness in out-of-cycle elections like Osun and Ekiti.
The hope is that they can cover the entire country and be this effective during general elections.
The lesson: Parties should have learnt since 2015 when GEJ lost is that disunity at critical levels of the party hurts the party.
Buhari won in 2015 in part because nPDP grew out of PDP and weakened GEJ.
Seyi Makinde won in Oyo in 2019 in part because APC broke into three camps.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PEOPLE OF OSUN, MAY ADELEKE TIME FAVOURS YOU.
backnbeta: Portable is an ingrate! Forget their differences. Someone dashed you 3k dollars and you're telling the world you shared it with others...the important thing is that he gave you! You could have waited all this out and Davido who unfollowed you would have probably followed you again after the whole election gra gra
Hypocrisy of the highest order... You lot would be among those supporting Osinbajo against Tinubu óò.
Anyway, we all have area of interest and we're all hypocrite in one way or another.
seunmsg: Obituarists have been dumping David Hundeyin’s nonsense for some days now without anybody complaining. Just one anti-Obi thread from Reno and you’ve started crying again.
They can't withstand 20% of what they dished out and it's against democracy.

Penguin2: Kwankwaso will live to forever regret the day he let stupid pride take better of his thinking faculties.
It’s obvious to me now that these people are always never in tune with the reality on ground.
Or how else would you explain the fact Kwankwaso seemed to have been totally unaware of Obi’s popularity among the Nigerian youths across the country which is why he was trying so much to paint Peter Obi as a southeast candidate and all other trash he talked.
Now, Nigerians know that Kwankwaso is just another ethnic jingoist.
Nigeria politics is not played as Aishat see it, thou that's how it should be but it's what it's...
Kwankwaso will never regret anything because nothing will change.
We all can pretend we're cool together, but we know there is no love.
Where did you want to put bigotry? Where did you want to put Religion? Where did you want to put ethics bias?
We're all guilty of that and Kwankaso is not left out. I think it will be very easier for Kwankwaso to deal with Tinubu than Obi because that's how Nigeria is been run and some people are not ready to change from that. I don't blame him, I blame people that sees him but I think they all believed in Northern vote and it makes them feel more superior.
Fahdiga: Any christian that votes for a muslim - muslim ticket is a big fool. Will muslims vote for christian - christian ticket? The plan is to stop christians from leading this country entirely. El Rufai started it in Kaduna and today that is now the norm in Kaduna state. Nigerian christians should wake up and fight for their rights. Heaven helps those who help themselves. Even the bible said the violent takes it by force.
If he picks norther Christian as VP, will you vote him in the first place?
JASONjnr: On the election day, God willing, I will be driving around with a microphone to beg people to go out and vote...
I will ensure that I full my tank and make this possible and even preach to the people to embrace the opportunity of making sure that they abandoned whatever they were doing to go out and vote....
This is going to be my one sided contribution while also assisting at the polling units around for any assistance that I will be able to offer....
People will come out to vote for Peter Obi and that will not just end at the social media...
heendrix: Sincerely speaking if I'm Peter Obi I'll follow suit cuz what on earth would Obi gain if he's embarrassed at the poll next year?? he couldn't even win massively in all the states in his region 2019 and same thing would happen 2023. as the biggest fan of Obi atm, I'll be the only one to tell him the bitter truth. Sir, now is not the best time to contest. carefully and sincerely back off the presidential race.
As much as I am not his supporter, I believe there's no crime in trying.
Let him test his popularity and you people should leave him alone
