Otay,

please could you explain to me what the difference is between this one your selling and the one that Midas 02 displayed and just sold on another thread of this forum for such a wide price disparity. Yea, I know urs is XLE and his is LE. But the price disparity is 2.8 to 5.4 that is almost 2ce the price of Midas02's.

Hope u don't mind.

Thanks.
abi o, pls explain, otah.

AutosRe: Advice Between A Used Corrolla Or Brand New Skoda Fabia / Kia Rio by abbyode(m): 3:55pm On Feb 21, 2008
As far as I am concerned, there is no basis for the comparison. For God's sake, how can u compare a brand-new car with a fairly-used, esp Naija used?
Come on guys ! You have to be explicit in your comparison by definining your baselines.
You guys cant just be killing "KIA" just because they havent made name like Toyota or Honda.
As a matter of fact, why cant u go for a brand-new corolla if you really want your comparison to be objective?
You should compare a brand-new corolla with a brand new Kia, then you'll have a case.(of which corolla will be a better option).
A brand new car is a brand new car, shikena !!!
AutosRe: Honda 'End Of Discussion': Is The V6 Engine Inferior To The I4? by abbyode(m): 7:30pm On Feb 14, 2008
Fellow Nairalanders, I came across this information relevant to the current discussion and so decided to paste it here:

How Are 4-Cylinder and V6 Engines Different?

The number of cylinders that an engine contains is an important factor in the overall performance of the engine. Each cylinder contains a piston that pumps inside of it and those pistons connect to and turn the crankshaft. The more pistons there are pumping, the more combustive events are taking place during any given moment. That means that more power can be generated in less time.

4-Cylinder engines commonly come in “straight” or “inline” configurations while 6-cylinder engines are usually configured in the more compact “V” shape, and thus are referred to as V6 engines. V6 engines have been the engine of choice for American automakers because they’re powerful and quiet but still light and compact enough to fit into most car designs.

Historically, American auto consumers turned their noses up at 4-cylinder engines, believing them to be slow, weak, unbalanced and short on acceleration. However, when Japanese auto makers, such as Honda and Toyota, began installing highly-efficient 4-cylinder engines in their cars in the 1980s and 90s, Americans found a new appreciation for the compact engine. Even though Japanese models, such as the Toyota Camry, began quickly outselling comparable American models, U.S. automakers, believing that American drivers were more concerned with power and performance, continued to produce cars with V6 engines. Today, with rising gas prices and greater public environmental awareness, Detroit seems to be reevaluating the 4-cylinder engine for its fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

As for the future of the V6, in recent years the disparity between 4-cylinder and V6 engines has lessened considerably. In order to keep up with the demand for high gas-mileage and lower emission levels, automakers have worked diligently to improve the overall performance of V6 engines. Many current V6 models come close to matching the gas-mileage and emissions standards of the smaller, 4-cylinder engines. So, with the performance and efficiency gaps between the two engines lessening, the decision to buy a 4-cylinder or V6 may just come down to cost. In models that are available with either type of engine, the 4-cylinder version can run up to $1000 cheaper than the V6. So, regardless of what kind of performance you’re looking to get out of your car, the 4-cylinder will always be the budget buy.

One final note: It’s not a good idea to try to install a V6 engine into a car model that comes with a standard 4-cylinder. Retrofitting a 4-cylinder car to handle a V6 engine could cost more than simply buying a new car.

My reference is http://auto.howstuffworks.com/engine9.htm .

I think this should throw some light to the present discussion b4 SIENA arrives.

Cheers.

Itz quite a pity that a nigerian computer science graduate cannot even use an MS Word well. Itz quite a pity. Please i would advise you find a way to remove the "track changes" features used on your CV. I am sure somebody did it for you.
Meanwhile, I would also advise you update your IT knowledge if u really want to pursue a career in this field. The content of your CV would not get u anywhere.May God help our universities, Amen.
It's just an observation, no offence plssss.

Siena:
Aww, brothers, thanks! Didn't realise my advice was so valued! Always glad to help!

I'm starting a new thread, besides regular servicing of cars, and general repairs / OBD diagnostics, I offer a bespoke service for owners of Audi - Volkswagen - Seat - Skoda cars.

This includes power upgrades, suspension packages, turbo upgrades and engine conversions. I also sell aftermarket accessories, like alloyw wheels, stainless steel exhaust systems, lowered suspension etc.

The thread with my current project, an Audi RS4 B5 Sedan will be documented shortly, with pictures of different stages. I hope it won't annoy Seun though!
Thanks bros.
I always look forward reading your thread.
I cant wait to explore the project you are talking about because I know it will be educative.
Thanks again.
CareerRe: Career Advise Needed by abbyode(m): 7:15pm On Jan 10, 2008
In this scenario, I think you are the best adviser for yourself.
You really need to define what you want in life.
You need to clarify what interests you, this will aid you in making the best career decision.
You need to sit down and visualise where u will like to be in next five or ten years.

Itz just an unortunate situation in this country, where because of unemployment, graduates keep looking for jobs not career. That explains why a Chemical Engineer could be looking for jobs in Banks.

Back to your request, your working as a CCNA guy in a Telecoms company already suggests to me that you are trying to make a career change that is quite different from what you studied in School for about 5 years. You are gradually turning to an IT Professional if i may conclude from afar.
My guy, you need to make up your mind about this career change.

Indeed, it wont be a bad idea if you are offerred an IT position in the bank, meaning you have changed your career path completely. But why not if that is what interests you. The most important thing is that u need to love what u do on a daily basis. Thatz one of the secrets if you need to grow speedily in your career.

As regards your masters program, I wont advise you not to take this job all because of Masters. Afterall, whatz the need in having an MSC and still going back to job market. The truth is u can do a whole lots of masters once u are financially bouyant through some overseas correspondence. And by the way since you have just one more semester, I think there should be a walk-around to this if you explore your options well. Nevertheless, don't ever throw away jobs all becuase of masters program, plsssss.

Please sit back and make a choice.

As an IT Professional, I doubt if i could apply, not to talk of even working, for an IT/Telecoms company without a website, especially at this age.
Having a yahoo email address is enough disgrace for any serious-minded IT/Telecoms company and I wonder which company will give out contracts to such. I rest my case,
