Education / Re: Can We All March To All ASUU Social Handles And Beg Them To Resume by Abcruz(m): 12:23pm On Oct 10, 2020
Ramsey19:
the matter on ground is like two elephants fighting. it's the grass under them that will suffer.

with the look of things, I'm suggesting we should go to all ASUU social handles and beg them to resume while they keep negotiating with the FG. I know ASUU are not heartless and some if their children too are among us.

we will beg them to look at we the youth that the strike is affecting so much. some of our friends in state unis and poly have resumed and we are still at home. there's no age by our side and education is hindering many good things we are expecting.

we can also make it trend the way #ENDSarz is everywhere.

I pray it yield good result.

God bless you all.

ASUU has no official handle on any social media. Do you even think they're concerned about you getting older?
Do you think their children is in the system?
Do you want them to teach with hungry stomach?
What has peaceful protest yielded in this country let alone a viral "twitter hashtag" that cuts no ice?

Channel your effort towards self improvement and skills acquisition cos the key and lock of our tertiary institution lies with FG and ASUU.

Good morning everyone, please can i still study medicine and surgery at my age i feel like as a girl it's late for me am so down right now, am 21 and i didn't write this year jamb which means i will be 22 next year.

Age doesn't really matter, If you're passionate towards studying medicine then go for it. When you eventually get there, you'll be less worried after seeing those older than you. If it's about marriage you can still get married while in pursuit of your dream.

There're people who got married before heading to med school, there're also girls in my class who're getting married this year while still in the race. So put the fear aside if medicine is what you really want.

They over-admit and then try to cut down the population at all costs. It's a wicked school. They know that if there's a resit, the number of resit students will overwhelm their infrastructures (both lecturers, laboratories and lecturing classrooms).

Instead of admitting the number of students they have a carrying capacity for, they resorted to over-admitting them and thereafter rusticate them via stringent exams and one sitting. This is extreme wickedness.

Moreover, in the 2019/2020 academic session, JAMB discovered that UNN gave admission to undeserving candidates in medicine, law, pharmacy and nursing through the backdoor by avoiding JAMB CAPS so that JAMB wouldn't detect it. On discovering it, JAMB reassigned them to other departments.

Instead of owning up to their mistake, they resorted to blaming the students, and couldn't give a reason why they gave admission to undeserving students in programmes their JAMB scores didn't merit. If this wasn't discovered by JAMB, they would still weed them out either in 1st year or 3rd year via stringent exams.

Hmmm... Indeed wonders shall never end.

I think so. Because that is where there is a big opportunity to drop as many as possible.

This last MB ehhh...chai people failed and those that scaled through sef, the lecturers in clinical class are complaining they are too much. So they will stil look for a way to tackle it.

If the lecturers themselves were subjected to this same condition in the time of their training, how many of them would've graduated?

A certain lecturer in my school, in a bid to encourage us, never fails to make mention of how he repeated severally in med school before becoming a doctor against all odds.

Yes. They admitted too much plus those that transferred from other departments to medicine and dentistry. Even pharmacy is facing that issue. When i was in 2nd year, my friend in biological sciences transferred to pharmacy and they were almost 498+ and they can't graduate more than 180. So they will make the rules strict and drop so many people on the way.
Med school now is one attempt or you leave. They are also looking at increasing pass mark to 60. Maybe they have implementated that one sef.

Mehnn this unhealthy competition is so unfair. I've never heard anything of such until now.

By the way, does the rule only apply to 300level MB exam?

You should your school,MB policy

Like in UNN the former policy was that if you fail 1 or 2 you CAN resit the two exams in September,if you fail them again, you are leaving med school.

Now,it is only one attempt,if you fail one or two you are leaving automatically ,no more resit in UNN

This is strong shocked
The uncertainty in the system could be the reason why that fellow had to transfer to EBSU.

Is it that they over admit students and try to cut down the population at all cost?

You are talking about the difference in carrying angle between the sexes.

But the factors responsible for the existence of carrying angle are the tilted lower end of the humerus and the obliquity of the shaft of ulna to trochlea ridge.

The perforating arteries from the profunda femoris artery supplies muscles in all three compartment of the thigh. State these muscles?

I think it's rather False because the anterior compartment is supplied mainly by the femoral artery while the medial and posterior compartment of the thigh is supplied by the perforating branches of the profunda femoris artery.

The muscles of the medial or adductor compartment supplied by the perforating branches of the profunda femoris artery include: adductor magnus adductor longus, adductor brevis, gracilis and obturator externus.

The muscles of the posterior compartment supplied by the perforating branches of the profunda femoris artery include: semitendinosus, semimembranous and biceps femoris.

Had.a similar experience too.

Mine happened when we were waiting for lecturer.
Then a guy came in with 'materials' and was advertising it to us.
He said it was a very important material and we needed it urgently for our first semester.
55% of people in the hall bought it,the remaining people that didn't buy it did so because they didn't have enough money with them, myself inclusive cheesy
Turned out that the content of the material was jamb past questions that was just photocopied

You're either a uniben, aau or uniport student or somewhere in the south south.
Things like this happen there undecided

Yeah they always want to take advantage of freshers cos they're naive, scared of failing, and will believe anything hook line and sinker without thinking twice.
I can't even count the countless materials that was brought by strange faces and students were rushing it like their lives depends on it only to discover latter that it was a meaningless trash. grin

They always came with this statement to put fear on us: "Buy this material now oo because if you have one F in med school you're out." Then crowd of students will start begging the man to take their money for a worthless book. grin

By the way I'm from AAU. What about you?

On my first day we had GST101 at about 8AM. I woke up around 4AM, prepared and got to school 6AM.

I initially thought I would be the first to get there but I was surprised by the numbers of students that were already seated. After taking my seat a certain man from the street whom everyone of us thought was a lecturer, came to sell his books titled "English and Englishes." grin

After successfully convincing us that one could be sent out of the university for not passing English, everybody in the hall bought the book with fear. grin
I bought the book with the last card I had on my wallet thinking it was my textbook for the semester. Little did I know that the man is well known for scamming freshers. He smiled cheerfully, counted and made away with thousands of naira under the watchful eyes of everyone in the hall. shocked

The useless book was less than 15 pages containing trash upon trash. I had to throw it in the nearest trash can. angry
