To all United fans who think the title is already yours: A 4 point lead can dissappear in just two games and we are just 1 game into the second half of the league! A lot can still happen. be careful of what you say so you wont have cause to eat your vomit. @ Rikkygen: Nobody is making any excuse, I said it earlier that we are seriously missing our captain, this is just a statement of fact, without him now we have conceeded 2 goals in each of the last three matches. If at the end of 38 games, ManU lead , then it is thoroughly deserved and if it is Chelsea there should not be any excuse from anybody BUT THIS IS STILL VERY MUCH FAR FROM OVER!!! |
I really wish that things will be done in this country with respect to the law!BUT on this Atiku issue, i support him being removed/dealt with whatever way or format possible. he is a big thief!!Obasanjo may be on his way out too but my steadfast prayer is that he will meet his waterloo in the nt-too-distant future!!We are just tired of all these Agbada and barariga idoits that we have as polititians |
Our Major problem was that we were missing our outstanding captain in the last couple of games and much as i hate to admit it,we are missing Gallas too! He would have provided a solid cover for JT, Khalid B makes far too many mistakes but we have to make do with him for now! i hope we can just scale through the hectic December period unscathed. Wishing all Chelsea fans a merry Xmas and a very prosperous new year ahead!! Check out Drogba receiving a specila Barclays award for being the first player this season to reach the 10 goal mark, hope he continues in the second half on the season!!
|
Yeah! though it was very sloppy of us to have given up a two goal lead in the first place, Credit must go to them for fighting till the end of the 90 Minutes, It would have been typical of Chelsea to have drawn or even lost that game in the past but the new 'fighting spirit' dimension that has been added to our game is giving us an extra impetus to dislodge Man U from the top of the table! |
Check out this report about Roman on soccernet - Prefer the guy to the glazers anyday: Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is convinced the club's youth system will soon mean he does not have to spend big in the transfer market again. The Blues have taken the footballing world by storm since the Russian's takeover of the club in 2003. Chelsea have spent hundreds of millions since Abramovich's arrival - but off the pitch investment has also been big on the agenda. Now Abramovich is looking for the club's academy to start producing in the not too distant future. "Our strategy is to bring up our own players through the academy, which we have invested a lot in, and we hope that will give results," he told The Observer. "We will be spending less in the transfer market in future years." Abramovich insisted again that he was at Chelsea for the long-term and had no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge. "People who don't know me said I will win one or two Premierships and will not be interested after that," he added. "The reality is that we've won two Premierships, but I'm more excited about this particular season than last year or the year before. "I am a fan of special nature. I'm getting excited before every single game. "The trophy at the end is less important than the process itself." |
@ Akolawole: and JFH for £15 million pounds too!! The case is Chelsea surviving without a rich owner at the moment is unthinkable - You just cannot justify these other than merely speculation- we might lose our status as a title chasing side BUt we will never be religation candidates like you said in your post comparing us to Deby County!!!THERE WAS SOMEBODY BEFORE ROMAN(KEN BATES) SO IF ROMAN GOES SOMBODY ELSE WILL COME!IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT. If roman goes prices of players coming to chelsea will go down and we will still be able to buy players!!Also note that Chelsea is built more around Lampard and Terry than any other player. |
@Christino: I do try to avoid putting conditions (IF) in my arguements because what will happens (IF bla bla bla , ) is just a matter of conjecture, But we might as well talk about it, Firstly: Without Roman's Millions (IF he never bought Chelsea), a lot of scenarios could play itself out but the option of Chelsea getting relegated is absolutely out of it simply because Chelsea pre-Roman Era were NEVER relegation Candidates!!(position from 1998-2003:4th, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 6th, 4th), We could even have gone ahead to win the premiership! Also i would want you to note that if Roman did not take over Chelsea, We would still have been able to afford the likes of Drogba, essin, makalele e.t.c because their price tags would not have been that high, it is not a secret that whenever Chelsea bid for a player, the pricetags of the player will just suddenly increase: For example SWP was definitely not worth £21 Million but because it was Chelsea involved,Man Nity just saw the oppurtunity to make a lot of money!Apart from maybe Shevchenko, all the players chelsea have bought were overpriced, simply because of Roman. So what happens If Roman withdraws his millions today? My guy, we are in the era of club take overs, someone else will simply take over, If the likes West Ham, Newcastle and Aston Villa could attract investors, Chelsea (which is much more attractive than all these teams) will definitely find an investor! and life goes on!!! , But like i said earlier these are all speculations!what we know for sure is what we are seeing now - that Chelsea is a top team and will be around for a while, the sooner people start getting used to it, the better for us all! ![]() |
What a topic!! Most definitely some people (most especially africans) try to use charms during matches, we have seen these several times during nation cup matches, but whether this Juju works or not is another matter entirely. Like sombody commented, we (africa) ought to have won the world cup if it really works |
@ Hustler, i cannot agree with you more! I remember Puyol getting skinned for Barca on the way conceeding that goal at the final of the world Club cup, what about that second goal by drogba at the nou camp? Ferdinand is a top dog, but i cant forget joe cole tturning him into a spectator at the bridge last season Terry himself was given a good turn around by our own Yakubu last season I think out of the three people shortlisted, he deserves it most! |
@ Christino - Yeah!!You can hardly find Old Chelsea supporters because compared to Man U and Arsenal, Chelsea have not been as popular/succesful, but things are much different now and that just goes to prove the saying that success bring so many friends, but it also bring so many enemies too like many disgruntled Man U and Arsenal supporters who show no respect for what we have done in the past couple of years. I started supporting Chelsea in 1995 shortly after Gullit moved there, but my support then was only on the pages of sports magazine (ISR)and now i am proud to say that i am a registered bonafide supporter of Chelsea!!! Also your comment:No Roman, no silverware for chelsea (incorrectly i must say) tries to potray chelsea as a non-entity 'silverwareless' club before the advent of Roman. Are you saying that the FA cup (1997) League cup (1998) UEFA Cup winners cup (1998), European Super cup (1998),FA Charity Shield (2000), FA Cup (2000) are not worthy on mention? please do try to get your facts right berfore you post stuff about chelsea. Roman's arrival has only brought a dimension which has been missing for so so long a time - The premiership Title! and Roman's arrival also means we could copete well in the trasfer market and that was why the balance of power has shifted in the past couple of seasons. And every club needs money to survive BUT money alone doesnt bring success! clubs like R. Madrid, Newcastle, T Hostpurs have spent a lot in recent years but what have they to show for it ?Chelsea have got a bit of class, hunger , determination and they also have the specila 'one' |
Chidichris, i agree with most of what you said!!! @ Loyika, your post makes sense too but you only need to look at some of the posts on this thread (e.g by 9ja4eva) to know that there are many anti-chelsea people here too and their posts just reek of so much jealousy for Chelsea. When arguements are presented in an objective manner, we dont need to look hard before we recognise it!!!! |
@ Atiku07 i just have a feeling that you are one of the politicians at the AC convention and you belong to the 'failed' generation, jus like your boss (Atiku) and his own boss too (Obasanjo). I beg to disagree with you, Atiku is most definitely not 'generally' acceptable!!!who would accept a thief? only other thiefs like him!Go and tell your boss that nigerians and particularly the youths are tired of the likes of him & obasanjo & IBB & Buhari, e.tc we want a new course to be charted for this country, we want a change, we deserve a change and Atiku is not the one that will bring that change. Atiku like his boss (Obasanjo) is a thief, he looks like a thief and his actually built like one too (Ole Nla). Yar'Adu is hardly the ideal candidate and PDP is hardly the ideal party but Atiku is a complete epitome of what a president should not be(again just like his boss!!!) God forbid bad thing like somebody said. |
I would probably have given it to ronaldinho but the guy dissapointed me big time at the world cup. Zidane had at best an average season with Real madrid and an average world cup too + he didnt win anything last season!!club or country!! Canavaro had a title winning season with Juve and captained Italy to the world cup. i think he deserves it. The votes were from natinal teams' coaches and captain, these are football people so they know what they are talking about |
I have a feeling that there are some underlying anti-chelsea vibes beneath all these rants!!The guy: Chidchris has raised some very good points here and all you guys are just doing is ranting!!!!Address the issues please!!! |
I beg, babayaro is a spent force!right now he is offering so little to newcastle, Taiwo is miles ahead!! |
As far as i am concerned, Chelsea is only playing 'catch up' in terms of spending with Man U and other big clubs in Europe. When ManU was breaking premiership transfer records (For Rooney, Rio and Veron) nobody raised any eyebrows, now we have a rich owner and we are spending his hard-earned money , suddenly we are killing the game. Roman/Kenyon has said it times without number, they have a ten year plan to make Chelsea one of the biggest clubs in the world and further more a self sustaining club, The source of his wealth is not hidden, a simple search on the internet will reveal all, i wonder which one uefa prefer, borrowing a staggering £500+ as the Glazers (who knew so little about fooball) did to buy Man U, this year alone, it was reported that the interest cost of the loan alone is about £84m pounds!!!!or having a Roman A spend his 'own' money to buy Chelsea!!!!Havent you seen the way he follows Chelsea to all the matches the guy loves football, how can he be killing the game have you seen the glazers at any of man u's matches ?they are in it for business, you should eufa prefer ?? |
he did not win the cup winners cup and charity shield and the cup winners cup with arsenal |
Mourinho has obviously not learnt his lesson with this boularouz of a donkey, he should stp playing the guy and save us further embarassment!!the guy has flopped against barca, T Hotspur and now everton. Great rusult though |
Another dissapointing result! You guys need a couple of years for your young 'goners' to mature because simply put, there are too many boys in that team, you need MEN to win you the premiership!! |
I have to give up on you guys! This kinda arguement will not get you anywhere!!!And isnt it so hypocritical of you? Using all sorts of words here while trying to prove that your own RELIGION is the right one!!!!!! |
Mr Akolawole, can you give me the original URL of that interview, it is very interesting and i need to send it to a few Mourinho/chelsea haters |
These are issues that have parts to play in relationships, so you might bloody well talk about them!!! ![]() I dont like girls with big belly, even after childbirth you have to get rid of the flab around the waist ![]() |
@ Mukina - U meant C Ronaldo Jnr ![]() The premiership title might as well go down the wire this season!!i dont even think it would be decided over the xmas/new year period, i have always tot that the diffrence between Man U and Chelsea is the depth we have on the bench! but this might not necessary be the case, i believe we dont have good cover for the strikers positin too. kalou had his chance against newcastle and he kept firing over the bar, i think we might have problems too if Drogba gets injured!!! |
Nopes!Hilda didn't win gallantly, They falsefied election reports according to reports in the news, the PDP leadership merely corrected the situation!! Read about it here: http://www.thenewsng.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1999 How could Hilda Williams have won the election? What are her credientials? In my opinion Obnikoro is a much better qualified candidate than her. |
That is PDP for you guys! i do not have any confidence in the party, just look at the kind of dangerious and anti-democartic politics they play! but it does appear that we are going to be stuck with them for a while!!!! |
The Premeirship table doesnt lie! joint second highest scoring team, Joint best defending team! and just five points behind the leaders Man U, but unlike Man U or Arsenal have a good depth in terms of players on the bench, So to answer your question, Yes they can win it |
@ Reverend: You are not reading your crystal balls right m8! i just discovered this site like 5 days ago and i tried albeit withut success. then i discovered the email of the owner (seun) on one of the threads!!It was he who helped me out!my first ever post was yesterday!!!Okay? You dont know everything!!! But Gooluck to you all the same!!! |
I read JHC novels as a secondary school boy then, after which i moved on to some other writers (Forseyth(?), Ludlom, sidney Shedon e.t.c) but i still have very fond memories of JHC and will relish any oppurtunity to download and read any of them now!!i think for people in Nigeria, you canget them in Surulere Lagos, Under the bridge on your way to Yaba, there are dozens there for sale!!! |
I know you know it all, you a have a crystal ball and you are able to tell that i signed up under many different names, but i was only trying to tell you that the topic of discussion as it relates to religion is pointless and further trying to preach (had it ben you could read in between lines) to you to channel more of your resources to self apparaisal and change you ways. |
It seems there are a lot of hypocrites in here!!! @Reverend (wonder why you chose that name!!) and all 'his supporters' i am just assuming for a momment that all the contradictions listed above are true, my question is: Does this help you get into heaven i dont think the answer is No! and to the many 'christian warriors' here trying to defend the Bible, i can ephatically tell you that this will not get you into heaven. The issue of religion (which i believe is this is all about) will boil down to your relationship between you and God, and if you think such discussions will help you. Then keep at it |
I can only say that Drogba has been better this season so far! He has scored about 15 Goals in all competitions but when you factor in the past two seasons that Drogba has been playing in the premiership then we can surely say that Henry is a better player!! |
The future is blue!!!!! |

Most definitely some people (most especially africans) try to use charms during matches, we have seen these several times during nation cup matches, but whether this Juju works or not is another matter entirely. Like sombody commented, we (africa) ought to have won the world cup if it really works
