At least they honored him. How many communities in Nigeria celebrate and honour their sons and daughters for modest acheivements, apart from thieves in public office or politics?

Christianity EtcRe: Pastors That Are Poor Were Not Called By God- Uma Ukpai by Abee79(m): 3:25pm On Dec 21, 2014
A pastor is not a businessman, but a Shepherd. Any shepherd who fattens himself on the blood, meat, milk and wool of his flock (by turning his divine calling into a business, twisting God's Word to suit his greed and pride) will surely experience the wrath of God.
-Isaiah 56:8-12
-Jeremiah 23:1-4
-Ezekiel 34:1-10

Jokes EtcRe: Do U Remember Funny Secondary Secondary School Nicknames? by Abee79(m): 7:04pm On Dec 17, 2014
I heard sooo many crazy nicknames during my Secondary School days. But the craziest of them all was a Form 1 boy who came (in 1992) with a 24-lettered nickname! He immediately became the object of amusement of all Senior boys - they would just call him to say his nickname so they could laugh every time, and he dare not refuse. Here it goes: MUSIROMANATOMICOLOGICALY cool

OP, I disagree with you on Fine Arts. Technology can never beat or substitute the sponteneity of original artistic creativity. Besides, without innate skills, your use of artistic apps and softwares will be limited. Artistic genius must find expression one way or the other, regardless of technological advancement!
-By the way, I think I read a similar article somewhere (and their list made more sense)

CelebritiesRe: Video Of A Girl Twerking In Church Goes Viral by Abee79(m): 11:16pm On Nov 12, 2014
I am not surprised. Today, most 'Churches' are not much different from party clubs or any other social gathering, except of course some semblance of religion is sprinkled here and there. There is the carnal desire to be the trendiest, wealthiest, largest, most fashionable, etc. Make no mistake. Jesus is coming for a Holy and pure Church.

SportsRe: Who Is Nigeria Greatest Number 9 ? by Abee79(m): 5:47pm On Oct 25, 2014
Rashidi Yekini (Before he became selfish by celebrating a goal alone inside the goal post. That marked the end of his glorious days. His team mates 'punished' him by deliberately not supplying him with passes even when Yekini was strategically positioned to score. It also marked the end of the prosperity of the Super Eagles...).

PoliticsRe: Read The Viral Email Allegedly Sent By Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau To ICC by Abee79(m): 8:29am On Oct 21, 2014
It doesn't even make sense. The pattern of expression is inconsistent. There was a lame attempt to implicate the "powers that be" in the senseless killings. No mention was made of the contributions of those who publicly promised to "make Nigeria ungovernable" if their selfish interests were not satisfied. I SMELL A RAT. . .

PoliticsRe: "Horn Free Day": Lagosians, What's The Situation Report At Your Place? by Abee79(m):
The different kinds of horns Nigerian drivers blow as a means of communication:

1. "get out of my way"

2. "you're wasting my time"

3. "good morning/afternoon/night my neighbour!" (usually a short honk, accompanied with a pleasant wave through the window)

4. "if you scratch my car!!!!" (this is often the loudest & longest horn)

5. "move! the traffic light is green"

6. "don't even think of entering my front/overtaking me"

7. "werre" (interpretation: mad man/person)

8. "I dey your side O! (so, don't swerve)

9. "wetin dey worry this one?/pass quick quick jare!!" (to pedestrians crossing the road in front of your car)

10. "peeeeeeem, peeeeeeem" (so that the babe walking on the side of the road would look up/look back)

11. "peeeeeeem, peeeeeeem" "peeeeeeem, peeeeeeem" - for no particular reason

12. "open the gate for me"

13. Indiscriminate horns and honks by commercial drivers/okada riders scouting for passengers

14. "peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemmmm" (when you see a 'long-time-no-see' friend/relative inside hold-up)

15.

>>My submission: It is not possible for Nigerian drivers to drop their horn addiction (even for a day) grin

EducationRe: Top 8 Secrets Of First Class Students by Abee79(m): 12:12pm On Oct 12, 2014
Blurr:
I prepared this, based on the experiences of some FIRST-CLASS graduates.....
1)NATURAL BRILLIANCE-: There is a minimum level of natural brilliance that is required b4 a stdnt cn think of first class..
2)The power of Dream-: first class stdnts dream.....i do not mean metaphysical dream, i mean the Luther King definition-vision, forward looking even though awake...
3) competition-: what most pple do not knw is dat diaris usually a subtle competition amoung best stdnts in classes..The competition is not necessarily un-healthy..That is why it is good to attend a competitve institution, rather than enjoy local championship status wthout stiff competition..
4)Calculation-: it s always gud to have a mindset, nd calculalate ur CGPA, even bfor an exam...
5)Optimistic mentality-: imagine a newly admtd stdnt sayin" i cn never make first class, they wont give me"... I dont bliv dat tho..
6)Course of study-: it is usually good to choose a course yu ar interested in, NT THE 1 YU ARE FORCED TO DO..
7) TH early years are critical-: some stdnts get carried away by d euphoria of being a university stdnt nd spend dia 1st year fafing around....a potential first class student aint like dat
cool know thysef-: do not copy-cat..
Plagiarism huh

Sunshinelady:
. Hmm insted of u to say 'team only chick' u r sayin 'main chick'. Main chicks even suffer more dan side chicks cos emotions & commitments are involved, whereas d side chick doesn't give a hoot, she just wants d moni & off she goes 2 her main(or only) dude. But d so called main chick will be there sufferin hrtbreak cos of her guy's escapes wit side chicks. God forbid bad thin
I think the hashtag I used there was misleading. Sorry. Let me rephrase: #teamonewifeonly&nosidechick cool
