Hello, fellow nairaland user , please has anyone here gotten Egypt visa for the upcoming CAF U-23 cup of nations in Egypt ? If yes , please which documents did you submitted , and how much is the visa fee? How long does it take the visa to be granted .

I got my docs together and submitted personally. Someone in Abuja picked it up for me when it was ready. It was not stressful at all. Even though my application was easy, I've been hearing about how things have changed. So you may need to ask others about their experience.

Apparently, I'm scheduled to have a visa appointment in Cairo this July. I applied for a visa at their embassy in Abuja since last month and till now, I'm yet to get feedback from them.

You need 1 year of full time employment (1560 hrs) within last 3 years to apply under AIPP. You don't need to be employed as at the time of your application.

Yes, you don't have to use WES. ICIC listed 5 evaluators that you can use.
The three below doesn't require secondary school results from Nigerian applicants.
-Comparative Education Service: University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies
-International Credential Assessment Service of Canada
-International Qualifications Assessment Service

I don't know why Nigerians are creating traffic on WES thus, making it difficult for those whose professional body requires WES verification only.

Self-employed applicants are not qualified to apply for a PR under the AIPP stream. You've to been gainfully employment for at least a year in the chosen NOC within the last three years. Employment letters, job reference letters and pay stubs must suffice.

You can either get a Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp) or visit visa. Your child will get TRV as well.

Yes you can apply for PR with job although there is a classification of job you can apply with most especially your level at work really matter. Let me say from Supervisor Role upward.

what about those that are self employed like hair dresser , carpenter , plumber ,mechanic , any chance for them ? Cos when I checked one of the province , they are being requested by some companies ? is the job for the citizens or international applicant? thanks

I really don’t understand what you are trying to ask but if what you are trying to ask is, can you have an EE profile and also apply for aipp simultaneously, yes you can, but once you get to the PR application stage you may have to take the profile down as PR will be done by paper route.

I stated that I had a Bachelor's degree... Though, a highschool diploma is also acceptable for some certain jobs under AIPP

Breakdown of the cost of AIPP PROGRAM -

ECA - N110,000
IELTS - N75,000
PR APPLICATION $550 AND RPRF $490 (Right of Permanent Residence fee) - $1040 which is equivalent to = N292,240
BIOMETRICS - $85 which is equivalent to N23,885
MEDICALS @IOM - N41,500


Total = N542,625

It's now a requirement for all provinces in the Altantic that Applicants must submit ECA and IELTS as at the time of Application for a provincial endorsement. This rule was recently effected. It was not in place when I started my process. However, during the processing of my endorsement the immigration officer requested for proof of my highest level of education and a copy of my resume.

Permanent Residence is a visa/status granted to a foreigner who is not a Canadian citizen and bestowed the right to live and work in Canada without any time limit on their stay. Whereas, work permit is a temporary resident visa that allows you to work for a specific period of time for an employer. The work permit was originally created for companies/employers that are anxiously/urgently seeking for a foreign employee to come over to Canada and fill up the labour shortage in their organization and subsequently apply for their PR within Canada.

The company complained that they have had issues with Nigerian applicants applying for Work permit to Canada. They further explained to me that applicants from Nigeria are been invited for an interview at the canadian consulate (embassy) at Lagos. During the interview, the visa offficer at the embassy will begin to run a background check on the applicants work experience letter (reference letters) as well as start contacting/calling each and every of the referees on the applicant's resume, the employer in Nigeria, and also the applicant's family members in order to ascertain that the applicants really had the job experience in the corresponding NOC stated on the job offer from the employer in Canada. Furthermore, they complained that Work permit application takes forever like 8-12 months before a response is communicated to the applicant, which all end up as a REFUSAL. So he advised that Permanent Residence is the best option for Nigerian applicants seeking to migrate through the AIPP program and the PR process takes at least 6 months or less in most cases.
