There was pandemonium in Iba community of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State on Friday when lightning from a thunderstorm struck killed 19 cows belonging to herders. Though details of the incident were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, Tribune Online authoritatively gathered that the development occurred around 6.30 pm at Gaa Elesun. The deafening sound from the thunder was said to have created fear in the sleepy community as people scampered to safety, while some individuals ran inside their houses. Speaking on the incident during a telephone chat with our correspondent, the head of Fulanis resident in Iba, Mr Jimoh Jamiu said: “the terrible occurrence took place around 6.30 pm on Friday when we were trying to get the cows back into where they stay' According to him, “before the thunder struck, the cloud had formed in the sky with the anticipation that rain may fall. Suddenly, there was a big sound of thunder accompanied by lightning which struck the cows and they died. “It was indeed a great loss to us in Iba community. We never expected that such natural occurrence could kill our cows after rearing the cattle for years,” Jamiu lamented. Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the Eburu of Iba, Oba Adekunle Okunoye in a text message said, “we recorded a very sad incident at Iba. Lightning from thunderstorm struck some cows at Iba and 19 of the cows were killed. It is a great loss for our community.” https://tribuneonlineng.com/author/ifedayo/ |

quote author=cutechioma1 post=67176810] A medical doctor entering civil service suppose to be one level ahead of other health proffessionals because their years of training is one year ahead of other health proffessionals ,As we start on conhess 9 ,they suppose to start on equivalent of conhess 10 ,but now, they start on equivalent of conhess 11 ,this is greedness ,Relativity is the difference in call duty .A medical doctor receives 200% of his basic salary as call duty whereas other health proffessionals receive 40% of their basic salary as call duty ,That is why they don't want conhess to be adjusted[/quote]Please tell me which health worker is in Conhess 11 which is equivalent to conmess 2 and grade level 11 which all civil servants skipped. Johesu skipped from Conhess 10 to 12. Doctor skipped from conmess 1 to 3. Other civil servants skipped from grade level 10 to 12. |

Olufemi Atoyebi, Ibadan The Ibadan zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday quizzed the Acting Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Owo, Dr. Liasu Ahmed, on the allegation of mismanaging funds allocated to the institution by the Federal Government. Ahmed arrived at the anti-graft agency’s office around 9.48am with four other officials of the medical centre in a convoy of three vehicles with Federal Government number plates belonging to the centre. His invitation, it was gathered, followed a petition sent to the commission by the counsel for the Association of Resident Doctors in the institution, Ayenakin and company. In the petition, Ahmed was alleged to have mismanaged the sum of N214m allegedly meant for the payment of salaries of the hospital workers. The doctors alleged that the total sum of money released to the centre as salaries for the ARD in October and November, 2016 was N143m while another N51m was released by the Federal Government to the centre for the purpose of executing capital projects. The petition read in part, “Dr Liasu Adeagbo Ahmed, the Acting Medical Director, fraudulently converted the sum of N214m belonging to the staff of the medical centre between the period of October, November and December 2016 for his personal use and the said sum was misappropriated. “The sum, especially that of October and November, 2016, was released by the Federal Government to the centre for the purpose of paying salaries of the Association of Residents Doctors, which said sum was not paid them till date but misappropriated for another use entirely and this is criminal. The total sum of money released to the centre as salaries for our clients in October and November is N143m. “Furthermore, the sum of N51m was released by the FGN to the centre for the purpose of executing capital projects but to our clients amazement, no project was executed neither did the said Acting Medical Director return the money to the Treasury Single Account as there was no evidence.” As at the time of filing this report, Ahmed was still at the EFCC office in Ibadan. http://punchng.com/efcc-quizzes-hospital-md-over-alleged-n214m-fraud/. |
