The biennial competition kicks off in exactly 14 days, but the three-time African champions are still yet to name their official squad Nigeria’s plans for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations are currently in jeopardy after Soccernet gathered that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had not sent an invitation to the players expected to lead the team’s charge. Soccernet gathered from a close source to one of the players expected to be in the team that no player or their clubs have received an official invitation from the NFF. This leaves the team in an unwanted situation as FIFA rules and regulations state that national teams should have informed clubs two weeks before the start of an international tournament over players release. And with just two weeks to go before the start of the competition in Cameroon, the Super Eagles have found themselves at crossroads. Most of the nations that will be competing in the tournament have already named their final squad, including defending champions Algeria, hosts Cameroon, Morocco and Senegal. Soccernet tried to reach Eguavoen to ask why the players are yet to receive their official invitation, but calls to his number were not picked. Eguavoen had told Soccernet in a previous interview that the camp would open after Christmas. But with no official list out yet and the confusion surrounding the coaching situation, it is unlikely that the camp opens on December 27. Eguavoen was appointed as the interim boss after Gernot Rohr was sacked, and it was expected he would lead the team to Cameroon. However, NFF president Amaju Pinnick revealed in a meeting with Sports Editors on Wednesday that the organisation hopes to appoint a foreign coach next week. The AFCON kicks off on January 9, with the Super Eagles playing their first match two days later against the Pharaohs of Egypt. |

Who noticed Messenger call has stopped working again? |
Please is there any information about when Facebook will come up again? |
WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook have all gone down in a major outage. The three apps – which are owned by Facebook and run on shared infrastructure – all completely stopped working shortly before 5pm (12pm EST). Other products that are part of the same family of apps, such as Facebook Workplace, also stopped working. Visitors to the Facebook website simply saw an error page or a message that their browser could not connect. The WhatsApp and Instagram apps continued to work, but did not show new content, including any messages sent or received during the problems. |

A graduate in zoology was having difficulties in finding job...... He saw an advert in one of the daily news paper for a job at a zoo. At the interview, the manager told him that their gorilla which has been a tourists attraction has died, so they needed someone to dress and disguise as a gorilla since they have not been able to afford a new gorilla. The graduate was embarrassed but since the salary was very okay and attractive, he accepted the job offer On the first day, he put on the gorilla skin and entered the cage, started jumping up and down, beating his chest while roaring like a gorilla......... The next day, he put on the gorilla skin and started moving around the zoo again and mistakenly entered another cage untill he found himself starring at a lion , the lion roared and started moving towards him. The scared graduate forgot that he was a gorilla and started shouting like a human being "help! help!! help!!!".,, The lion leaped onto him, knocked him to the ground and whispered onto one of his ear; DEJI ... it's me GBENGA your course mate, no fear, guy no work for these country,....., Infact you see that crocodile wey dey inside that water ?, Na Micheal Oyetoro our class rep be that. |
I noticed we had grass growing rapidly inside my new compound, so, I & my neighbour decided to get rid of them. I asked around and found someone who would do it. Brought him to the compound, showed him around, so he said he'd clear it for 3K, but we can also negotiate. Inside me, I was surprised because the work too big for that amount. So, I told him we would give him 5K instead. Mehn, the dude was overjoyed. He ran off to get his working tools, got back and was almost starting off. I asked him to halt, and confirmed if he's had something to eat. He said -- No. That he hasn't even eaten since the evening before. I quickly prepared tea, bread and fried eggs for him. Chai! Tears commot for the guy eye when I give am. He finished eating, picked up his tools, and worked enthusiastically with all his heart. At intervals, I'll stop what I was doing inside to check on him. Sometimes, chat and laugh with him. (Dude was a real jolly fellow eh, lol) So, he rounded up for that day, and said he'd be coming around the next day to pack the dead grass. I gave him the 5K. He was really excited. I told him to take my contact so he could reach me before coming the next day, he said he would have loved to, but he doesn't have a phone Said he sold it 2 weeks back, so he could eat. All he had left was his SIM. I felt his pain, but I remembered I had an Itel phone I wasn't using, so I gave it to him+N500 for recharge card. Tears just roll from the guy eye instantly. And he said, one of the most deepest "God Bless You", I've ever gotten in my life. So, he left excitedly. And, for me -- I slept like a baby that night. Dude came the next day, and continued the remaining task with so much passion. I could literally see it all over him. I shared from the rice I had left with him for breakfast, and by 12 noon, he was done with the whole task. He thanked me endlessly, and left. All these happened this weekend (Saturday, and yesterday--Sunday) Now, I got a call very early today from him, and he gave me a great news. He said his former Oga that relocated from Ibadan to Abuja, reached him on phone, the same yesterday, immediately he inserted his SIM into the phone I gave him. And that his Oga told him he's been trying hard to reach him for weeks to no avail. The Oga finally asked sent him N100k this morning. Chai! Me sef come happy pass the guy sef. He ended the call with these words -- "Senior man, if to say I no meet you, naso this one for take pass me oh". Tears just drop my eye, aswear. Why my long boring story? Always do little things you can do, to change people's lives. It might be little to you, but that might be the answers to their long-standing heart desires. These bits of kindness must not come in monetary forms. • You can tell people kind words. • Give them a bit of your time • Hear them out • Give them warm hugs • Never despise or look down on them • Applaud them when they carry out duties for you • Make them feel like the humans that they really are. And, you might just be saving a life in the process. ©️ Just a Little Help |

The Earth’s rotation is changing speed: should we be worried? Our planet is spinning at a faster and faster rate. We define a day as 86,400 seconds, or 24 hours – the time it takes for Earth to rotate once. However, the Earth doesn’t rotate perfectly uniformly. Usually, the Earth’s rotation is actually slowing down so that the length of the day increases by about 1.8 milliseconds per century, on average. This means that 600 million years ago a day lasted only 21 hours. The variation in day length is due to several factors, including the tidal effects of the Moon and Sun, core-mantle coupling inside the Earth, and the overall distribution of mass on the planet. Seismic activity, glaciation, the weather, the oceans and the Earth’s magnetic field may also affect the length of the day. In 2020 scientists made a startling discovery. They found that, instead of slowing down, the Earth has started to spin faster. It is now spinning faster than at any time in the last 50 years. In fact, the shortest 28 days on record all occurred during 2020. As yet, scientists are not entirely sure what is causing this increase in Earth’s rotation rate, but some have suggested it could be due to the melting of glaciers during the 20th Century, or the accumulation of large quantities of water in northern hemisphere reservoirs. However, experts predict that this speeding up is a temporary effect and the Earth will start slowing down again in the future. But, for now, should we be worried? Although it will have no effect on our daily lives, there could be serious implications for technology such as GPS satellites, smartphones, computers and communication networks, all of which rely on extremely accurate timing systems. But such problems are ultimately surmountable, perhaps simply by subtracting a leap second rather than adding one. So no, we shouldn’t be worried – unless the shortening of the day is attributable to human activity. Source. BBC science focus magazine. |
Television owners in Lagos will now have access to as many as 60 channels on the FreeTV launched by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed under the Digital Switch Over (DSO) programme. Mohammed said more than one million Set-Top-Boxes, the decoder for the FreeTv, were on ground for the Lagos launch, adding that the boxes would be made available and affordable. However, a token access fee will be paid on acquisition of the set-top-boxes. There is no monthly subscription payment. “This enables millions of Nigerians who cannot afford to pay the rising subscription fees being charged by the Pay TV platforms to enjoy the benefit of digital television”, said Mohammed. The minister, who stated this on Thursday at the inauguration of DSO – transition from analogue to digital terrestrial television in Lagos, assured that the process would be speedy across the country. The Lagos inauguration marks the beginning of the second phase of the DSO rollout, which had been stalled for three years after its inauguration in five states – Plateau, Kwara, Kaduna, Enugu, Osun and the FCT. “Though it took the digital television train over three years to arrive in Lagos State from its last stop in Osun, the train is now ready to move faster. “The DSO train has now changed from narrow gauge to standard gauge, meaning it will move faster to cover 13 states across the country this year alone in the second phase of the DSO rollout, which begins today. “From Lagos, the DSO train heads to Kano State on June 3, Rivers on July 8; Yobe on July 15; Gombe on Aug. 12; Imo on Aug. 24 and Akwa Ibom on Aug. 31. “It will move to Oyo on Sept. 9, Jigawa on Sept. 23, Ebonyi on Oct. 17, Katsina on Oct. 21, Anambra on Nov. 4 and Delta on Nov, 18,’ the minister said. The minister reassured that notwithstanding the huge logistic and financial challenge, they would meet up with the set timeline of Dec. 7, 2022 to complete the DSO process in the country. He said the switch-on of Lagos was unique and epochal, because it marked the first time that the DSO project would be beaming 60 choice channels to television households. “This is not by accident. Lagos is Nigeria’s creative hub, hence it is important to harness the creative talents that abound in the state through this project. “Also, the DSO provides us with a great platform to key into the Lagos Smart City Project, which seeks to use technology to enhance service delivery in all spheres of life,’’ he said. The minister said besides high fidelity sound and picture, the DSO would facilitate job creation for the teeming youth, stimulate local content and empower channel owners. He said it would also provide Value Added Services, such as enforcement and collection of TV Licenses, premium PayTV channels, push video on demand, information services and audience measurement. Lagos state Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu was represented at the event by the Permanent Secretary of the state’s Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr Olushina Thorpe. The governor reiterated the commitment and support of the state to the success and full realisation of the DSO project. |

In another development, five Governors has asked the foundation to site The school in their states promising to donate lands and support the school for smooth take off. Rochas foundation colleges are schools established by Rochas okorocha that trains children of the poorest of the poor in the best standard of education for free. Imo was one of 11 states that has benefited from the benevolence since 2001 when the program started with 20,000 students nationwide and over 6000 already graduates accross the country. All the governments in states where Rochas foundation schools were sited donated the lands for the building of the schools E.g RFC Kano's land was donated by the government under H.E Kwankwaso. Man Orders Pizza Every Day for 10 Years Until Employees Realize… Sizzlfy by TaboolaSponsored Links RFC Ibadan's land was donated by the government under late Abiola ajimobi. Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote’s bid to takeover Arsenal ‘edging closer’ Posted by Drew February 23, 2021 Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote’s bid to takeover Arsenal ‘edging closer’ Arsenal for a number of years have been linked with Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, who has never shied away from his desire to buy the club. Now, developments are starting to take shape. The main caveat to Dangote’s bid to buy the Gunners has been the fact that he needs to free himself of delivering a brand-new oil refinery in his home country – one that will be the largest in the world. The latest is that this could be completed in the coming months of 2021. In some of the quotes carried via Football.London, Aliko Dangote outlined the steps that would be needed to buy Arsenal and that money is not an issue; “When we get this refinery on track, I will have enough time and enough resources to pay what they are asking for.” “It’s about buying Arsenal and turning it around. I’ve run a very successful business and I think I can also run a very successful team. Right now, with what we’re facing, over $20billion of projects, I cannot do both.” “There’s no doubt [I’ll buy Arsenal], it’s not a problem of money.” It could be an interesting few months for Arsenal if talk materialises into actual takeover money on the table. Could this be the beginning of the end of Stan Kroenke’s somewhat unpopular ownership? |
Super Falcons midfielder Halima Ayinde has welcomed the decision of the team's new coach, Randy Waldrum, to expand the player pool to let in younger players into the team. The Eskilstuna United of Sweden star, who spoke in an exclusive chat with LEADERSHIP Sports shortly after helped Super Falcons to clinched Turkish Women's Cup title on their first-ever appearance with a 9-0 humiliation of Equatorial Guinean yesterday, said the plan by the coach will help boost the team to the next level. While assuring Nigerian fans to expect greater things from her this year both in the national team jersey and her club, Ayinde described the relationship in the Super Falcons' camp between players and their new handler as very cordial and smooth. "The camp is open for anyone to showcase her talent in the national level and help boost the team to the next level," Ayinde stated. "The relationship with the coach and players is very good and smooth, even though we are yet to know and understand each other better." "Fans should expect greater things this year not just with the national team, also to club level." She said the players were happy to come together after 14-months and achieved the Turkey Women's Cup victory. "Everyone is happy and excited for winning the tournament and of course happy that we could achieve this after being off for 14 months." The four-nation invitational tournament success was the first in history for Nigeria in Europe and the first crown under Waldrum. The nine-time African champions opened their Turkey Women's Cup campaign with a 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow before edging Uzbekistan by the same scoreline to inch closer to the close Needing just a draw to seal the title, the Nigerian ladies were seeking to end on a high as Uchenna Kanu set up Glory Ogbonna to open the scoring, with a long-range effort after just nine minutes. Three minutes later, Toni Payne was brought down in the area to give Nigeria a penalty and Asisat Oshoala stepped up to convert from the spot before grabbing her brace with another penalty in the 13th minute. Some 13 minutes later, Chidinma Okeke's long pass from the right found Oshoala and the Barcelona striker raced past the opponents' defence to net her third and her side's fourth of the match. Waldrum's side maintained their ruthless form as Payne teed up Kanu to net a fifth of the match in the 36th minute before Ogbonna's cross was headed in by debutant Charity Adule two minutes later. Three minutes from the half-time break, Payne grabbed her first goal in the green and white colour of Nigeria when she fired past goalkeeper Emiliana Nchama Ndong for a seventh of the match. Before the restart, Waldrum made four changes, bringing on Mariam Ibrahim, Gift Monday, Ramat Abdulkareem and Esther Sunday as replacements for Ihezuo, Okeke, Payne and Kanu. Despite Jean-Paul Mpila's team holding on for a while, the Super Falcons added an eighth of the day when Abdulkareem set up Monday to score her first goal for the team in the 69th minute. Five minutes from the full-time, substitute Halimatu Ayinde assisted Oshoala to grab her fourth goal of the tie to complete the Nigeria rout. |
gospelpen:I will say this, I am a tithe payer, but I have told my pastor several times that they should change the name, because from what the Bible says in Leviticus, tithe should not be paid in cash but in food, secondly tithe is not weekly basis but every three years, so if you pay it in monetary way and weekly it means you are going against the commandment. in Malachi we are using is says "bring ye tithe to my house so that there will be food", not money. even in Leviticus it warned Israelites that if you are leaving far from Jerusalem and you want to pay your tithe, first convert in to money that is if you can carry the food because of the distance, and when you get to Jerusalem, go and buy what pleases you and set it down with the levite and destitute and your house hold, eat it with them. which means tithe is not only for pastor but even for poor and even you must eat from it. |
