In Edo North Senatorial district, Mr Francis Alimikhena of the APC scored 86, 021 votes to defeat Mr Pascal Ugbome of PDP who got 66,092 votes.

Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Mathew Urhoghide of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the Edo South Senatorial district seat
He defeated his APC opponent, Samson Osagie, the outgoing minority whip of the House of Representatives with 139,784 to 117,759 votes.

This was possible when PDP used their machinery and arsenal to rig the votes on that day.what happend wen the presidential election was concluded? and it was time for house of assembly election, the same PDP were floored right there in the same Esan and the whole of Edo south with PDP having just 4 seats abeg just keep ur prediction to yourself and see how we will rig the election that day.

The same trend I noticed before the 2015 general elections when I was hearing dissatisfaction with Jonathan's government in Edo state is playing again, this time against an APC led government. Edolites are tired of APC in Edo State, the only problem is that PDP has no reliable candidate for the governorship election. The only candidate that would have easily won it for PDP- Osunbor, switched to APC as soon as Buhari won (wonder how some politicians can be so dull).

Edo is PDP'S for the taking but they have to pick someone better than Iyamu and his likes. Nobody will vote for Iyamu.

The truth is that the candidates from PdP are all criminals. So forget them no gud candidate from Edo south from PDP.

You have opened another door for matured discussion this morning from me, so let's keep it flowing .let me give you at least 3 reasons why PDP can never rule Edo at least for the time been but maybe in the future.
1. Edo state was bastardised by PDP maladministration of Lucky igbinedion and Osunbor,and there is this resentment of the people towards any thing that starts with P.
2.APC controls the federal and the state which will definitely make it a hard nut for PDP to crack.
3.lastly Even though the Governor is misbehaving in some aspect which also makes him human,His developmental strides has enabled him win d heart of the people.

African Democratic Congress Guber Candidate

Governors Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Idris Wada (Kogi), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi) have been rated as the worst performing among the 36 state governors in the country.

The governors of Kaduna (Nasir El-Rufai) and Sokoto (Aminu Tambuwal) states, were rated as the first and second best performing governors with 72 per cent 64 per cent, respectively.

This is according to a comparative analysis of governors’ performance in Nigeria carried out by Lagos-based Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies.

The study tagged, ‘Governors Performance Index,’ is a monthly performance review of what governors across the country are doing in their offices and it is conducted by the Lagos-based CIAPS.

In a statement issued on Friday by the centre’s Coordinator, Mr. Olumuyiwa Ayoola, the report noted that the variables used as indexes for performance were “mathematically calculated.”

Ayoola stated that the variables had been skewed to place emphasis on “payment of salary, new projects, education, security and leadership by example.”

According to him, activities of each state governor were monitored and studied from their first day in office and the findings were graded and compared to that of fellow governors across the country.

The statement pointed out that in October, the CGPI results showed that Emmanuel, Yari, Wada, Geidam and Umahi were the least performing governors in the country.

The CGPI report indicated that the five governors finished in the bottom places with not more than a score of 35 per cent.

Commenting on the study, the CIAPS Director and the CGPI Chair, Prof. Anthony Kila, said that the “CGPI is a useful tool for democracy and good governance as it allows government to be objectively measured against their peers and compels all in power to be mindful of accountability.

“The variables used for measuring governors performance this month (October) takes into account that most of the state governors are new to office while some have been there for a longer period of time.”

Kila said he hoped that the CGPI monthly reports would allow governors to sit up, improve their performances during their tenure and engage in healthy competition among themselves for the benefit of their states and the country as a whole
