Tunde835: It says Nigeria has 12% of 860 million people which is 103.2 million which is about half of our population is living in poverty with above 80% in north nigeria There are three billion poor people, and the middle class in Nigeria is 50 million, so how can the whole population be living in poverty, some of you people ousting here are just outright illiterate and never do any research |
Politics › Re: 43% Of World’s Poor People Live In Nigeria, Two Others – World Bank by Abohboy: 4:09pm On Jun 10, 2020 |
This is completely in factual, there are 3 billion por people in the world and 12% of three billion is more than double the population of Nigeria, please bring on the next lie for me to debunk, I work with facts and numbers not speculations

Dlonra: Each and every person living in those slums is a tenant who came to establish himself in the City hence population pressure. Slums are common allover fast growing Cities in Africa including South Africa, Egypt and Nigeria so don't start pretending as if you live in some first world country I do I live in England mate, and having been to all countries other than Kenya and Egypt, so I know what I’m talking about I grew up in South Africa. And I’ve been to Alexandra slum in Johannesburg and mamelodi slum, slums should not be there if proper town planning is done, why is an african saying that slums are okay, do you not want better things. |

jl115: You asked if Pretoria has a railway connected to an airport.........and it does OR Tambo airport serves Pretoria as well, because Gauteng is very small, it’s like saying to someone in who lives in Lekki, which airport do you use. When they use the same airport as you someome living in ikeja |

Nigerians stop fighting with the South Africans, our cities are not better. FOR NOW, patriotism goes so far, before it becomes stupid pride, Nigeria has a long way to go before we can compare with South African cities. But by 2027 mark my words, Nigeria will be of the same standard, with urban regeneration projects ongoing in 10 different states it will be no time before we are equal. |

Kazikazi: East Africa is more developed than west Africa.Countries which are are more developed in east Africa are Mauritius, syschelles,Tanzania,Kenya,Ethiopia,& Rwanda. Mayotte,& Reunion I exclude them since they are mostly under European leadership.
FYI,development isn't just on paper, but is all about life in the ground like electricity coverage, transportation, clean air, water access, city planning, housing, jobs, etc. After saying that,no country in west Africa will match Mauritius! No country will match syschelles. But they have a very small population I said what is the percentage of population in poverty and the quality of housing for the population Seychelles and Mauritius are a fraction of the overall population. |

Dlonra: East Africa is the real Deal Okay you have good central business districts, but what about the percentage of the population that lives in slums, outside of Kigali, Rwanda is very poor, Nairobi, Mombasa, eldoret and kisumu all have quite big slums, same applies to dar es salaam, the average person is living in a shack or a dilapidated house. |

forgiveness: Okay, let me agree with you that Cape town, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria are better than anything Nigeria has ever offer "for now" but I don't agree George is better than all the cities in West Africa or do you believe that?
South African cities may be very beautiful but it's doesn't mean others cities are not developed. Technically you can’t compare South Africa to Nigeria, because most cities in Nigeria are much larger and the same applies for George it is a small town so it is easier to maintain so in my opinion George does have better infrastructure and it looks more neat OVERALL when compared to cities in Nigeria, individual parts of Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Calabar, Port harcourt all those places look nice but when you take into account the whole city South African cities win George included. |

rvp2018: At least you don't suffer from giant delusional temptation. But 7-10 yrs is a bit ambitious when poverty is tripling in Nigeria.+ It’s not tripling infact 7 million people have been taken out of poverty since 2016, and after this whole covid recessionn the massive investments in agriculture will pay off. |
