It only congested because you're using the port as storage...even lekki will get congested unless you work on evacuation..like Mombasa now the containers are unloaded from the ship direct to train and will reach Nairobi and soon Naivasha before the ship can turn in the port. You have turned your ports into trailer and container park.In Mombasa a truck only enter the port to quickly pick a ready container and exist asap. There is no parking for trailers or containers
That is why we have the coastal railway it will link onto the coastal railway which can link into the central line to abuja and Kano, or link into the lagos-kano line as well or the Lagos-sokoto line evacuation will be fine it has been well planned, than there will be a 12 lane highway from Lagos all the way to Warri

The bakassi deep seaport will link onto the port harcourt to maiduguri rail line and will als be part of the cross river super highway 12 lanes as well all the way to maiduguri as well

Where did you get the funding? Let me know when Lekki completes a single berth.
China is funding the project with 700 million dollar whilst a private company in Nigeria is adding another 250 million dollars and the Lagos state government will provide 50 million dollars than the remaining 100 million dollars is the Nigerian government there happy plus lamu has been under construction for 2 years whilst construction for this one started In November

You see even you do not know that it hasn’t been completed, only one berth has been completed the whole thing will only be completed in 2026 or 2030 according to your own government, than the Lekki sea port they have started in the 2 km long breakwater and they have gotten 1.1 billion dollars of funding already

You right, but I am with you he opinion that they make use of very dime on the project you listed..we don't want them going the Kenyatta and Sonko way.....

The should also try collecting that $62bn debt from those international oil mongrels
They’re still chasing them they even took them to a court in Milan and are still demanding the money in the case that we do get that money the government said the housing deficit, roads, education and healthcare would all be solved and would probably be even better than what you see in countries like South Africa

I rather think than day dream about Lekki deep sea port. According to PWC - the next ports to watch in Sub Sahara Africa are Durban, Mombasa and Abidjan. I expect Mombasa to soon break into the world top 100 ports.

And we haven't started on LAMU DEEP SEA PORT THAT IS READY - not wet dreams.

Durban, Abidjan and Mombasa most likely to become major hubs in Africa
Sub-Saharan ports run the risk of sacrificing further growth through lack of investment amid growing congestion, PwC says. But operators cite high government involvement in the sector as a risk consideration
The difference is that Mombasa port has space to expand, whilst the Lagos port has No space to expand, then for the Lekki port it can be expanded all the way to 10 million TEUs, same for bakassi and onne sea port as well as that the Lagos port is spread out into 3 if all three of them were made one it would be larger than Mombasa but they aren’t than for your LAMU port it is not very feasible is it not for the country itself but for other countries which are closer to Djibouti port that will serve Ethiopia and South Sudan not Kenya

You are right....My own is if they know they won't disbursed that loan into the aforementioned Project then they should not bother collecting it at all....

We don't want our govt to start introduction Kenyatta style of govt with wicked loan which later matures to debt
But with the profit made from providing electricity, agricultural produce, transport facilities and solid minerals a lot of money is bound to be made even more than the loan was for example through agriculture we could create 20 billion dollars with the rice, cassava, plantain, wheat, cocoa and palm oil, than for the mining contract with gold, iron, nickel, quartz sand, uranium etc could create 10-20 billion dollars as well already the loan has almost been paid away added with the electricity production the economy would boom and a lot of money would be created

Meanwhile this just happened today...Nigeria is revitalising 4 more abadoned port and this one is among them... This is apart from the new port projects like bakassi and ibom deepseaport which cost about $2.6bn each(it is expected to be the largest the continent has ever witnessed..)

Efforts to increase ship traffic at the Eastern ports has received a boost with the successful handling of a containership measuring 265 metres in length overall by the West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) at the Onne Port Complex, Rivers State.

The ship, named JPO Volans, is the first gearless vessel and the largest containership ever to visit a seaport outside the Lagos area.

The Managing Director of WACT, Mr. Aamir Mirza, said the German vessel brought containers to the Onne Port from the Far East. He said it took only 2.75 days to turnaround the vessel.

“This is another major achievement for Onne Port and another testament to our commitment to set new standards and serve our customers better,” Mirza said.

He said WACT was able to handle this gearless vessel by deploying its newly commissioned Mobile Harbor Cranes.

“The key achievement here is our ability to handle larger, gearless, mainline vessels that were considered only suitable for terminals in Lagos. By handling these vessels, we have not only proven to the world that Eastern Nigerian ports are equally capable of handling these large ships but have also improved the profile of Onne port globally. I would like to particularly thank NPA, under the leadership of Madam Hadiza, Port Manager Onne, Onne Harbour Master and Pilots for their support in making this happen.

“With our major investment plans in the pipeline, this will go a long way in improving our capabilities and highlighting same to all our shipping line and landside customers,” the WACT Managing Director said.

In September, WACT acquired two Mobile Harbor Cranes worth $10 million (N3.6 billion) to boost operation at the terminal. The terminal operator also acquired 10 specialized terminal trucks and two new reach stackers to complement existing cargo handling equipment, to increase the turnaround time of vessels at the port.

The new cranes and other investments effectively brought WACT at par with its peers in Lagos ports in terms of equipment availability and operational efficiency.

“Our vision is to make WACT the best performing container terminal in West Africa. We believe we are on course to realizing this vision in record time with the support of relevant authorities and stakeholders,” Aamir said.

WACT, which is the first greenfield container terminal built in Nigeria under public-private partnership, started commercial operations in 2007 and has become the most efficient Nigerian gateway to markets outside the Lagos area. It has an annual container throughput capacity of 314,000 TEUs, with 375 reefer plugs and a draft of 10.5 meters alongside.
The bakassi deep seaport will be the largest of them all and will possibly handle trade for landlocked countries like Niger and Chad, even some parts of Cameroon are willing to import and export goods through the bakassi port

Than the ibom deep sea port is looking for approval this will be the main oil and gas export area seeing as akwa ibom is one of the largest producers as such it will be wonderful

And with all the other projects that are coming with the 30 billion dollar loan Nigeria is sure to become an even better country

With 500m dollar investments in education, 5 billion dollar investment in electricity, 8 billion dollar investment in railways, 1.2 billion dollars investments on roads, 800m dollar investment in technology, 150 million dollar investments on minerals(gold, iron, nickel etc) a 450 million dollar investment on agriculture and a 500m dollar investment into water

Just so you know these are estimates frome aht I read and with all kf these there is still 7 billion dollars left over which will be split between army and Healthcare

For the police they will employ 100 000 more of them, than the army will get 2 submarines and about 30 patrol ships, as well as 50 fighter jets and helicopters

For Healthcare they will be 2-5 mega hospitals per state and at least 500 clinics per state as well excluding really small ones like Lagos and ekiti where you will only need 200-300 anyway that is what the Nigerian government will be doing for the rest of their tenure and I am extremely excited about all these projects

grin grin grin grin grin

yes i know the capacity of the terminal.

there are 9 ship to shore gantries at terminal 3
5 at terminal 2.

only the dry and wet bulk carrier terminal is bigger than anything in kenya.
Meanwhile in Nigeria one of the largest dredgers in the world from China has arrived the lekki deep sea port will hopefully be the largest in Africa with 6 million TEUs work shoukd be finished by 2022 and full operations will commenced in 2024

He was right on money because we became on of first SSA country to budget without any aid in 2005 and we have been aid independent since then.Any aid that come is generally off books. We had IMF poking their pink noses in Kenya internal affairs in 90s and by turn of century we had moved from 50% aid dependant budget to 10% by 2002 and by 2005 to 0.001%.We are independent proud Africa nation that is showing the way to Ghanians.Rwandese are doing the same.It starts with paying taxes and building internal revenues enough to finance the budget..and of course having diversified economy that protect against commodity prices swings

And this Lebanese thing was not even slave trade like the Indians in Kenya are these Lebanese came to Nigeria in the 1960s or 1970s because at the time Nigeria was developed and welcoming, I will not lie yes there are Lebanese minorities in Nigeria and some of them are very rich but they do not control much the biggest thing they are doing is Eko atlantic but that is with help from other companies and investors including dangote

Their money, their governor.
Expanding an already adequate airport to 'international ' standard seems redundant when the current airport appears more than adequate. So we're to believe that air passenger traffic through Uyo will now be international in scope and number to justify this boondoggle? As others have said, this seems very white elephant in intention and by design.
If I were him, I'd sink my funds into a deep water port and build a serviceable road to link with the great eastern trading centres of Aba and Onitsha, in collaboration with the SE governors of those states. You can imagine the multiplier effect vs this airport fandango.
You want to know where the governor's money is ? Follow the oyibo contractors. Especially blondes. cool

Like I said it is a white elephant project
Awka ibom is attracting oil and gas investors and the tourism opportunities with the rainforests and beaches is almost endless as well as that a lot of Nigerians will start moving there because if the quality if roads,he’s,th are and education they already attracted a European flour company and they also attracted a coconut refining company as well as pencil, toothpick and plywood companies so there is a point of having an airport built there the real white elephants are the airports in ebony and Abuja when you already have Enugu and owerri next door

Hi
solmusdesigns:
Nigerias problem with power isnt lack of it, but distribution and transmission.. most discos delibrately shed power because they know 60% of energy gets stolen or lost

with 3,664 MW egypt a top african economy has enough power which is well distributed, rwanda haw 500mw and they are fine, Nigeria has 7000MW installed capacity but gencos would rather sell to smaller african countries than Nigerians
Egypt actually produces 14 000 MW of power meaning Nigeria will probably have to produce about 22 000MW for the amount of people currently connected and if everyone is connected we will need about 50 000MW of electricity at our current population
FamilyRe: Secure Your Family's Future Today by Abohboy: 6:52pm On Dec 14, 2019
QueenAddyRealty:
Everyone has heard the popular Chinese adage, “the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now.”

The message here is that the realities of TODAY are results of the choices of YESTERDAY; also that the outcomes of TOMORROW will be results of choices made TODAY.

In 1999, land in Lekki Phase 1 sold for less than 100 thousand naira; 20 years later, in 2019, land in the same location sells for not less than 50 million naira, that’s a 50000% increase in value in 20 years. Yes, fifty thousand percent. You read it right the first time.

That is an extremely massive return on investment for anyone who invested back then. Not many investment channels and instruments can promise such returns, but property does.

Don’t you wish you had the foresight to invest in Lekki back then when it was dirt cheap? Imagine selling a piece of land at 500 times the amount it cost you acquire it. MIND-BLOWING.

Do not despair, though. There is good news! The Lekki Peninsula still has land available for purchase. The Ibeju Lekki axis is the Lekki Phase 1 of the future; it will be in 20 years what Lekki 1 & 2 are today. Lekki-Ibeju Lekki has been described as the fastest developing real estate corridor in the whole of West Africa today.

The Lagos State Government is doggedly keeping up with its development plans in that part of Lagos. Even Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man has acquired land worth upwards of $100million; not forgetting the proposed Lekki International Airport and Eko Atlantic City sited in that corridor.

One thing is SURE, property value along this corridor is guaranteed to increase in value every single year. What is not sure is whether or not you will have your piece of the property pie. Do not forget the massive increase in value from 1999-2019.

How will you feel in 5, 10, 20 years? Will you be joyful and satisfied from having planted your tree wisely today and buying your own Ibeju Lekki property? Or will you be regretful having missed out.

Since Nigeria came out of recession in late 2017, the Lekki-Ibeju Lekki Real Estate corridor has grown in value by an average 12% yearly. This means if you bought property for 10million naira in late 2017, today, that same property would be worth 12.4million naira. SUPER MASSIVE! Next December, your property would be worth 13.6million naira.

Now, imagine what property values would be upon completion of the Dangote Refinery. Once operational, the refinery is expected to generate 500, 000 jobs. Imagine the implications of a traffic surge of 500, 000 people on the economy of Ibeju Lekki and, by extension it’s property value. If you are till in doubt, do not be. Property value in this corridor is SURE to increase. This is a statement of FACT. Will you be on board this investment train or will you be a spectator watching others plant their own trees.

Wise people are literally rushing our properties and we are running out of land to sell. This opportunity will not be around for ever. Some clients even buy as many as an acre. Nobody wants to left behind knowing what they missed during the Lekki Phase 1&2 investment opportunities.

What are you waiting for? What is your excuse? 5, 10, 20 years might look far, but look back at 1999, 2009, 2014. Do you remember the opportunities you had back then but failed to act upon? Do you want to feel the same way in 2023, 2029, 2039? I believe your answer is a big NO!

Secure your future today. Plant that tree today. The future will come. Will you be happy when it does? Will you be full of regrets? Only you can answer that question.

We at Queenaddy Realtors promise to provide you with risk-free, conflict-free, stress-free land and properties in Lekki and Ibeju Lekki, all the way to Epe at the best prices and greatest convenience. Ethiopians/Somali also friendly
Nigerians are arrogant some are friendly some engage in illegal things when in SA
Malians are funny

It depends on where you are if you are in town than most of the Nigerians are probably doing illegal things but if you come to Morningside, sunning Hill, bryanston, Sandton they are kind, generous and caring than the ones that are ore arrogant, are the ones who live in those 5-10 million Rand estates in waterfall or midrand.

OH yeah you know when you said we should compare one of our cities to kisumu well I chose uyo city in akwa ibom state this city is ultra modern I am not even joking they are building a new airport terminals, the roads and highways are e best in Nigeria, there are three five star hotels under construction one is a Hilton hotel, they are building their first Skyscraper, and they are building one of the largest malls in Africa the Tropicana mall

, they are also going to get constant power supply by next year when their 1000MW gas power plant is finished it will also provide constant power to rivers or cross rivers state whichever they decide.

The Healthcare and education standard is also very high there is free Healthcare and free education for all and they have built one specialist hospital the plan is to have one or two of them in every single LGA(local government area) of akwa ibom

Than there are the stadiums which are being built all around akwa ibom the main uyo stadium is a sight to behold and they are building a smaller one in eket

Speaking of eket there is a massive urban renewal ongoigj which includes creating drainage to stop flooding creating a central waste system, rebuilding the largest market in the state which is sighted there into a more modern looking area and it includes a stadium as well
