Oshodi should and would be a collection of smaller office spaces, glassy street shops, banks, hotels, modern apartment along the road, open spaces(bus terminal massiveness will make way for that) to take pics for tourists, large pedestrian lanes laced with trees......

It should be pretty much this, nothing more...
Yes and it is quite exciting what is happening in Lagos and I am especially optimistic about the Lekki axis just today they destroyed 2500 building seats in Lekki and they shave marked 20 000 more because the governor says slums will become nonexistent when he is done and he will replace them with affordable housing and attract private investors as well

And in the farthest tip of Lekki, Ibeju Lekki more factories are being set up longrich a Chinese company is about to set up there and it will employ 2000 people whilst unilever,Dunlop and huawei yes you heard me huawei wants to set up a phone assembly plant in Nigerian it will be their first and only plant in Africa

Your wrong, We're generating 4000MW for now, Nigeria needs about 180, 000 megawatts for there to be adequate power supply. “South Africa, with 67 million people, generates 48,000 megawatts and they are now even working to increase the generation to 79,000MW
At the current connection rate we only need the 20 000MW and what you are saying is based off of international use of energy Nigerians would use way less energy per capital so I am pretty sure that 90 000MW should be adequate for 95% connectivity rates

Once this roads are fixed it will not only redefine Lagos but reduce choas on her street....oshodi is set to become a new CBD on the mainland..you can see the order in the buildings that are built and the way old buildings are stripped down with creation for massive sidewalks...let wait until everything is complete to get a clearer picture...
It will really open up other areas of Lagos and decongest the island and the peninsula next step is to find another are awe cna make into a regional CBD for example Lagos Island is financial, VI, Eko Atlantic, ikoyi is company headquarters of assorted bases if it's oil agriculture, construction than in oshodi it could be a CBD for textiles seeing that a massive textiles market is located there it just makes sense.

Nigga, your distro network leaks like this bucket! Even a 100k MW is useless as intelligent people understand.
That is why we signed a contract with Siemens to allow or national grid to hold 25 000MW by 2023 which will be how much energy we will need till like 2027 than we will further upgrade it from there

And the bigger rivers in the south-west and south-south to build these dams. This is corruption at its highest. There are rivers in Nigeria which you can build a 5000 megawatt Dam. But rather they go and do allergists to plant Or go and do oil refinery in katsina and kaduna where there's no oil
They are building a 4000 megawatt dam in taraba central Nigeria and they are doing feasibility tests for a 1500MW dam in ekiti so please learn before you speak and you cannot just dam up everywhere otherwise vital water sources could be reduced which would cause a lot of problems
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Abohboy: 3:55pm On Dec 29, 2019
SUFFERInSMILIIN:
Ethiopia is building a dam on the largest river in Africa. You are now building a dam in the middle of nowhere where there is no water. The formal contract is abandoned the project because not enough of water supply. Even from the pictures which the government posted you can see the water is minimal at the other side of the dam. And for it to be only 40 megawatts shows that the water is not just there. These are white elephants which the former government cancelled because they are failures. Now this current government is doing or what is not possible and it is not working they are borrowing money to do this white elephant projects. Anyway Partners in Crime move together the Nigeria leadership is criminal the people are criminal
Yes that is why it onky produces 40MW because it is not a major river ode infact I give up on you it is like you got a degree off of one dumb agbero from oshodi

Building dams in the middle of desert cannot work that is why a lot of government abandoned the projects. You cannot just wake up one day and want to do something with no feasibility study. This is what is even affecting dangote refinery delays and delays and delays
You can build a dam in a desert if there is a river going through the desert take Ethiopia's grand Renaissance dam you are clearly unknowing on how msot projects work

equivalent to approximately 2.4GW of electricity? huh

I doubt the op understands the unit of power in Giga range

That quantity of electricity will comfortably supply the whole of Africa. undecided
Nigeria's national grid is 4GW and we don't have constant power supply so how will 2.4GW power the whole of Africa infact Nigeria needs 20GW which is 20 000MW

Illiterate 60 years to build a irrigation Dam when you can do it in 6 months
The problem was the corruption happening under PDP, before than the project was considered un needed so they didn't fund it PDP spent 10 billion naira for nothing it is on two years that they finished it because they thought it feasible

MrBrownJay1:
this is not a train...these are cheap Chinese metros na!

the difference between a train and metro is very simple.....a train is for long distance thus has more seating while metro is for short distances so it has fewer seats and more space to stand in between stations.

now look back at the pics and see how there are only but a dozen seats on each carriage... so people are gonna stand for the 3 hours long journey?!
Abi na light rail, half hour journey I don't know where you are getting 3 hour

Ikot Ekpene LGA, wears the crown of the most beautiful and serene local government Headquarters that's is not a state capital in Nigeria.

Its difficult to find an LGA which does not double as a state capital this beautiful outside of this city.

Ikot ekpene is fast developing and has a rich history of being the first experimental local government area council of British west Africa.
This is where the colonialist started the local government experiment in west Africa.

You can watch a brief video of the city here!
Even uyo is beautiful sef the road system Is impeccable and than you have the ibibio park and the stadium etc

$600m Steel Plant Will Be Nigeria’s Highest Non-oil FDI – Gupta 11:23pm On Dec 24

The managing director of African Industries Group, Mr Alok Gupta, yesterday, said the company’s $600million Integrated Steel Plant will be Nigeria’s highest non-oil Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) when it begins operation.

Mr Gupta said federal government’s plan to turn around its iron and steel sector will receive the desired boost with the establishment of the $600m Integrated Steel Plant in Kaduna State.

This is as the minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc Olamilekan Adegbite, has assured that President Muhammadu Buhari will commission the phase I of the steel plant project which is sited in Tafa in Kagarko local government area of Kaduna.

“Hopefully, Mr President will be here to do the commissioning of the first phase of the project when the time comes.

“It is part of our mandate to encourage investment in mining and steel development which this group has started on; my visit here today is to encourage this investment and also to urge them to do this as quickly as possible to bring the obvious benefit, first to the community where it belongs.

“While we are there to moderate the expectations of the community, at the same time, we also encourage the investor to carry them along, benefiting in terms of employment, infrastructure including social infrastructure,” the minister said.

Affirming the minister’s position, the AIG managing director, Mr Alok Gupta, said,

“We expect to commission the Phase I of the project by end December 2020. We will be mining 5.4 million tonnes of Iron Ore, beneficiate the ore to produce high grade concentrate, make it into pellets and finally into Directly Reduced Iron (DRI). The DRI will be used to make steel billets and will avoid our need to import the same.

“We are also building a 36 MW Power Plant from the waste heat recovered in the process, which will be partly used for captive consumption,” he said.

According to him, with the completion of first phase of project, there will be significant economic and industrial development in the area by means of creation of several allied industries and social infrastructure, while the surplus power generated will further assist in developing other industries and residences and will help in urbanisation of the local area.

Pledging the support of the government of Kaduna State for the project, the Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Muhammed Abdullahi, said the state will work hand in hand with the ministry to ensure that the reap the benefit that is to follow.

“The governor has asked me to assure you of our support to ensure that the people of Kaduna and the government of Nigeria benefit from the project which will provide us with the advantage of job creation, of saving foreign exchange and providing the industrial capabilities that steel holds for our economy,” he said.

The African Industries Group is a diversified Manufacturing Group involved in the manufacturing of various products including Steel.

It started its operations in Nigeria in 1971, employing over 8,000 people in their 18 manufacturing plants, according to the MD, and they are now the largest producer of steel in Nigeria having the lion share of the market with an annual production capacity of 1.2m tonnes of finished Steel Products.

Over the last six years, their subsidiary, African Natural Resources and Mines Ltd (ANRML) has also recorded breakthroughs in Resource Estimate, feasibility studies from various consultants around the world as well as Environmental and Social Impact Assessment based on both the Nigerian and IFC performance standards.
