Ofodirinwa: The Important of RAIL for Imo State's development.
We are reaching an Impass and it must be said now and become a focus for future generations. Imo State needs a rail connection from Onitsha to Aba that goes through Owerri. Here's why
1. All economic development is based on access and flow of markets. If you have access to sea, you will be richer than someone who does not. If you have access to river, you will not be as rich as the one with access to see, but you're above the one who does not. After river is rail and after rail is highway. After highway is street. after street is foot path. A community of all footpaths will never be richer than a community with paved road, and one with paved road and not access to rail will never beat one with access to rail. Why?
Because these different avenues can handle and encourage different volume of trade. If Owerri is linked to Aba and PH by rail, refineries worth billions will be built here. If not, they must go to PH or Aba. For this reason, Owerri cannot match Aba and PH in commercial activity and therefore development.
Rail increases are volume of trade to a city/state with SEA access like Lagos, Enugu, Aba, Kaduna, Abuja and PH. Most major Nigerian cities would be villages if not for rail access.
2. Owerri's money is in tourism and leisure. Can you image the volume of business the city would do if people can get on a train and arrive in Owerri after 20 mins, then leave by the end of the day? Tourists from Onitsha, Aba, PH, Enugu would flood in in droves.
3. Living. Owerri excels at lifestyle and modernity in comparison to surrounding towns. if there is a situation where a person can live in Owerri (spend their income in Owerri) but work in PH, Aba, Onitsha, then the city will become a major commerical hub
4. If i want to locate a factory in Owerri, Orlu or any city the rail will cross and I need resources from any part of Nigeria, I could get it by rail instead of road with it's potholes, go slows, kidnappers, checkpoints, bribes, car trouble etc. I can get it at high volume as well as sell our own at high volume. If somebody is making cars in Owerri and they recieve an order for 5000 cars to South Africa, you can send that in 1 day. Otherwise, this order is not even answerable.
5. Ease of life. A person from Anambra or Abia can land at Owerri airport, enter train, and reach their destination across the whole region.
The next thing Imo state needs is a rail connection that will like Owerri, Orlu, and Onitsha. Owerri should be aim towards being the transport hub for the entire Old East region. It already has the busiest airport, rail will take everything to the next level. It is expensive but is worth any price because that is what will put Owerri on par with PH (which we're arguably going to surpass soon), Aba, and even Lagos
Fantastic contribution as usual! The problem is that a lot of idle noise drowns out rational thought in most government houses in the southeast..........especially in the past! The current crop of governors appears to be the best thus far in the present republic! I want to ask a question if the governors of anambra, IMO, and Abia can raise 500 million dollars by equity and loans...which sector should we invest in first.........a brand new power plant near the IMO gas fields and transmission lines power the 3 states or increase the power generation capacity of geometric power in Abia and send power to the other states or like you said do a rail line connecting Onitsha to aba via Owerri!
Nnamdipapa: I hate tribalists and racists but you know the people I despise the most with a passion? THE HYPOCRITES who never take a STAND.
At least if you are a tribalist, try and be sincere with yourself and take a stand for your beluef and, you gain my respect for practicing what you preach.
Here it goes;
If you are and Igbo man who hates a Yoruba person, hates Nigeria but live in Lagos or any of the western states, I hate you and you are lower that a piece of shit.
If you are a yoruba person who hates the Igbos but love one Nigeria, against the dividing of Nigeria, you a a SCUM, a TURD, a SUB-HUMAN and lower than a piece of SHIT.
As much as I has tribalists, I utterly despise hypocrite who do not take a stand for their beliefs.
For me to respect you as a tribalists, you must hate one Nigeria, admire clamour for the secession of any part and live in your own region.
You cannot live in other region and claim to hate Nigeria.
You cannot work or do business in other region and claim to hate Nigeria.
You cannot hate other region and claim to love one-Nigeria.
You have to take a stand Mr Hypocrite and, practice what you preach.
I am angry this morning.
EISH!
here we go again........You cannot eat your cake and have it na! As an Igbo man, I do not hate the idea of Nigeria united by love and respect but I hate the idea of an oppressive and unfair Nigeria, that is what Igbos complain about all the time! What you do for Femi and Ahmed also do it for Emeka !
On the idea of an Igbo man living in Yorubaland and calling for Biafra........well! maybe Nigeria should leave Igboland they occupy unjustly and still fail to develop equally like other regions! na so na!
Solseal007: Relax bro, no national governments found any insurgence or terrorist, they may at one time use them or support them in an operation.
All these groups have religious ideologies or cause they are agitating for, it is not in the interest of any founder!
Trust me, I have read wide and study CT,
Governments don't found them, they may sometimes use them to achieve an objective for an operation.

bobdoe: Is Paul Kagame Sponsoring the War in DR Congo?
The relationship between Rwanda under President Paul Kagame and the ongoing conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is complex, layered with political, economic, and security considerations. This blog post aims to dissect the allegations and evidence surrounding the question of whether Paul Kagame is sponsoring the war in the DRC.
Historical Context
To understand the current dynamics, one must look back to the mid-1990s when Rwanda, under Kagame's leadership, intervened in Congo during what became known as the First and Second Congo Wars. These interventions were initially justified by Rwanda as necessary to combat the genocidal forces of the Interahamwe and former Rwandan army members who had fled to Congo after the 1994 genocide. However, over time, the narrative has shifted, with accusations that Rwanda's involvement was also economically motivated, aiming to control Congo's rich mineral resources.
The Role of M23
The M23 rebel group has been at the center of recent conflicts in eastern DRC. Named after the March 23, 2009, peace agreement they claim was not honored by the Congolese government, M23 has been accused of receiving support from Rwanda. The group, primarily composed of ethnic Tutsis, has occasionally captured significant territories, including major towns in North Kivu since their resurgence in late 2021.
Evidence and Allegations:
UN Reports: Multiple UN investigations have pointed to Rwandan military support for M23, including the supply of weapons, training, and even the presence of Rwandan troops fighting alongside M23 fighters.
International Criticism: Western countries, including the United States, have occasionally imposed sanctions on Rwandan officials accused of supporting M23.
Kagame's Denials: Despite these allegations, Kagame has consistently denied any involvement in supporting M23, often framing Rwanda's actions as defensive measures against threats like the FDLR (Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda), a Hutu militia in Congo with historical ties to the 1994 genocide.
The Economic Dimension
There's a significant economic angle to this conflict. Eastern Congo is rich in minerals like coltan, gold, and cobalt, crucial for modern electronics and renewable energy technologies. Accusations have been made that Rwanda benefits economically from the instability in DRC, either through direct exploitation or by supporting groups that control mining areas.
OLAADEGBU: Trump revives push to denaturalize US citizens.
No be the same yankee wey we all dey.?..its good and profitable to live and work in the US but to be deported back to your motherland is far from a death sentence........are our people not voluntarily returning from Canada and the UK...............? Nigerians should purge themselves of needless tribalism and build a nation devoid of rancour and our land will be blessed by The most High.....see the outrageous tribalism and sectarianism being practiced by APC under buhari and Tinubu.........very disgraceful!
helinues: Abeg is Billionaire now a chieftaincy title? How come all these billionaires dont make the list of the billionaires in any reputable media?
Those who have counted money before know how hard it's to get hundreds of millions not to talk of billions
Is it only in Yorubaland that we have billionaires in Nigeria?........you have claimed Lagos for Yorubas only! leave Ndigbo to enjoy her billionaires and multibillion-naira projects in peace! How this one take concern ndiskullars again!
YouAreNobody: Imo state houses a substantial quantity of gas, amounting to over 200 trillion cubic feet with an additional potential of 600 TCF. The state has the largest gas deposits in Nigeria and Africa
The southeast is sitting on gas deposits but the funny nigerian state has not found the region worthy of a high pressure gas pipeline to power her struggling domestic industries..........Africans are just a strange set of people! tomorrow the dame nigerians will expect massive VAT returns from the same southeast! Nnamdi Kanu was right aferall!..........naija na real zoo!
DMerciful: Deepseek got 1month of learning. Its astronomical to achieve this after just 1 month
I hear the deepseek model is even open source and developers have free access to the model...........to make matters worse for Chatgpt , deep seek can be trained with less than 7 million dollars while Chatgpt, an organization will need to cough out at least 100 million dollars for the same training!
ANSMEDIA: Update from the ongoing construction of Awka mall.
It is good that the government is patnering with the private sector on this project! The Market Square brand has almost overtaken the ShopRite brand in the mass retail sector, they own the Kilimanjaro and Sundry Foods brands too! Can Soludo also deploy the same strategy to finish the Nnewi mall? I am not sure what is even holding the Nnewi mall but Soludo should knock heads together and finish that mall..............the completion of that mall will generate more jobs for the youth in that axis!
ANSMEDIA: You are a very stoopid fellow! Go and look for a job, hanging out here every spewing nonsense is not a full time job! You spewing nonsensical gibberish that you know nothing about. Palms trees are being planted there but you let your ignorance and stooopidity overwhelm you!
You are an uncouth and uncultured fleabag.......and a foolish one at that! so what stopped you from pointing that out initially..! I am not under any duress to love soludo without conditions! It is our tax money he is spending...............just do your job and shut your trap when the need arises! You posted pix and clips without any close-up pictures, and I responded based on what I could readily observe....and you go off on my comment with your considerable feminine energy .....................I still maintain you must be out of your frigging mind!
You pay peanuts .........you will get monkeys as workers! What have you wicked nigerians invested in the southeast to expect any returns........no seaport, no international airport, no industries, but you want our over harassed businesses to pay VAT....ndigbo did not get to where they are by being stupid and foolish!
GistMedia0: An emotional moment occurred during a recent Nigerian Police College passing-out parade when a newly graduated female officer burst into tears upon seeing her family, who came to celebrate her achievement.
Dressed in her smart uniform, the young officer’s eyes welled up with tears as she spotted her family cheering her on. With emotions running high, she marched towards them, saluting as she approached.
Overcome with gratitude, she embraced her mother and other family members, placing her police beret on each of their heads as a symbol of respect for their unwavering support and love throughout her journey.
Good for her....this one seems to have a conscience sha......that is one thing I like about some of these devout Muslim homes,,, they bring up their kids well! Rich or poor! what you see is what you get! no be like these pastopreneurs wey dey pollute xtianity!
ANSMEDIA: You people like posting nonsense. This is a project still under construction and palm trees have already been planted though still at primary level of growth.
Nonsense! Because I expressed a valid opinion! It's either you are mad or you do not know what it means to be "Igbo"! you are a paid megaphone...I am certainly not one! Soludo is not our 'King'....he is an elected leader........I have every right to question him based on his policies! no make me vex dis morning o! Just continue with your Otimkpu business, whilst we ask the hard questions!
Solseal007: Oh damn !! Why do people spin conspiracy theories
Bros! you are very naive I must say....even your defense chief made the same claim that boko haram is sponsored by external forces...ON FRIDAY...2 days ago!
Who founded Hamas.........Mossad who founded Alqueada and taliban.........CiA who founded Isis and HTs.............Cia who founded ISWAP and boko haram........Cia and french intelligence!
do your research sir! You do not know the whiteman at all! a group of people that sold your ancestors for 300 years and colonized you for another 120 years...............zi know you are not a mumu man sha!
He is so dumb. He doesn’t have a clue of the long history of that area and that you don’t just relocate people out of their homeland
The new Adolf Hitler is here to carry out more ethnic cleansing, his black slaves will rejoice
Trump is a businessman...a real estate guru for that matter......he is a tough negotiator by nature and experience! What he is doing is making a first outrageous offer but I assure you he is aiming for a less controversial settlement! He did not become president twice by being dumb oga!
Oganigwe: God bless our gallant Udo Ka chi operatives! state policing if well implemented definitely pays off.
I'm also hearing very positive news about what the newly formed security outfit in Ihiala and Orsu are doing, several notorious kingpins of the terrorist groups causing havoc in those axis have been apprehended. it's always a brillant initiative to apply security measures from the grassroot.
your weak effort to link ESN operatives to the business of kidnapping will ultimately fail...............dis mumu left the fulanis who have been apprehended to froth in the mouth of a mystery arrest of ESN operatives! I blame Nnamdi kanu for starting the agitation in the first place...Ndigbo do not need rescue from naija bondage...what we need are prayers! very ungrateful and obnoxious people!
kettykin: If they arrived in a police vehicle, they are law enforcement agents. Open the door and gates so they can do their job. But are these not the same people overstepping their bounds? We’re talking about individuals who stood by, aloof and helpless, while Samuel Ekpa wreaked havoc for four years. They couldn’t even oppose a single sit-at-home order. Now, suddenly, they’re playing superheroes.
Any sacrifice to bring back absolute peace to the south east is good for the moment.
You are just being childish and your infantile naivety is so apparent! Simon Ekpa and Kanu are in detention...how come the sit-at-home has not collapsed? You dismiss the clear fact that the sit-at-home has tremendous support in the East.........Extricate your brain from your rump and think like a normal human being...this douche bag is somewhere outside Igboland typing this rubbish...like seriously! no come eastside yap this drivel!
iwaeda: Thousands of people displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency are currently taking refuge in the town.
Boko Haram terrorists have killed over 20 Nigerian Army personnel, with many still missing following an attack on a military base in Borno State.
SaharaReporters gathered that for several hours on Friday, January 24, 2025, the terrorists attacked the 149 Battalion in Malam-Fatori, the headquarters of Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.
Malam-Fatori is a border town between Nigeria and Niger Republic.
Thousands of people displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency are currently taking refuge in the town.
Sources confirmed to SaharaReporters that the insurgents attacked the base with multiple gun trucks.
The sources added that the terrorists razed many buildings and military operational vehicles during the attack.
Apart from the dead bodies recovered, many other soldiers were seriously injured while a yet-to-be ascertained number of personnel were still missing as of Saturday.
The commanding officer of the battalion, two senior officers including the base medical director were among those killed.
This comes a few days after the terror group launched a brutal attack on the military's Forward Operating Base in the Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, killing a yet-to-be confirmed number of soldiers, with many believed to still be missing.
“25 Taskforce Bde was attacked during the weekend with so many casualties, so far we have recovered over seven bodies,” a source had told SaharaReporters.
“The terror group invaded the camp FOB Sabon Gari around 4am on Saturday, using various weapons.”
ISWAP subsequently claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
Also attached to the statement were pictures of members shooting sporadically towards the military facility.
Since the death of JAS leader, Abubakar Shekau, ISWAP has been consolidating its grip in locations around Lake Chad.
The sect’s membership has swollen with the defection of hundreds of Boko Haram fighters under Shekau.
The Nigerian Army has repeatedly claimed that insurgency had been largely defeated and frequently underplays any losses.
The terror group has caused over 100,000 deaths and displaced millions of people mainly in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.
Immediately Tinubu started his love affair with French President Macron...I knew we were back in Boko Haram trouble! Tinubu should know that France and their Western allies are behind the rise of Boko Haram and Fulani banditry!
Lifemanage: Reason none of the major tribes wants to align with them
Please go thru what you just posted .....and see if it makes any sense at all to you! I do not know what you people smoke before coming online! pure trash!
PresidObi: Every career politician in Enugu has lost weight.
Peter Mba is handling Enugu like a foreign country.
The man didn't give anyone a Christmas package, he didn't allow anyone to visit his country home with a goat, or cow, or gossip during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
PDP members are witnessing political harmattan.
If you are not coming with an investor you will end up at Okpara Square peeping towards the Government house. If you taya, you will go home and complain inside the house only or commence content creation as an advocate of good governance.
One told me last week that the Governor told them that "you can only get paid if you work for the state"😭.
Mba has helped those with generational pot belle to fall into modeling shape. Though unprepared.
He prefers virtual meetings to physical gatherings. Not even ITEM SEVEN 😭
The funny thing is that Mba speaks like a romantic lady. He will humble you in a very low and penetrating tone and leave you without an envelope.
One correct career politician from my LGA is currently learning content creation.
Have you noticed that he has expatriates running some of his programs and agencies....Mba is a breath of fresh air!
madridguy: Donald Trump should please in God's name leave Nigerians in the US. We are the most peace loving and hard working people on earth.
