Foreign Affairs / Hijab-wearing Woman Knocked To The Floor Unconscious In Newham by AbuuUthaymeen(m): 6:31pm On Sep 10, 2015
Tasneem Kabir, 16, was knocked
unconscious as she walked to
college
Her attacker, Michael Ayoade, was
jailed for four years after
pleading guilty
It is an example of the Islamaphobic
offences that are on the rise in
London
Around 60 per cent of victims are
women who wear a headscarf or
hijab This shocking video shows the
moment a 16-year-old girl wearing
a hijab was struck in the head in an
unprovoked attack on an east
London street.
Tasneem Kabir suffered broken
teeth and a smashed lip after she
was hit by Michael Ayoade, 34, as
she walked to college in Plaistow,
Newham, on the afternoon of
November 13, 2012.
He was arrested after police
released CCTV footage of the Ayoade, who is originally from
Nigeria, was jailed for four years
in February 2013 after pleading
guilty to two 'vicious' attacks on
young women.
Miss Kabir's assault is an example
of the Islamaphobic attacks being
investigated in Inside Out London
Special, which will be aired on BBC
London tonight.
It comes as police revealed there
has been a sharp rise in the number
of hate crimes against Muslims in
the capital.
Women who wear a headscarf or
hijab account for more than half
the victims of these crimes, figures
show.
The 13-second video of Miss Kabir's
attack shows the victim walking
near the Black Lion pub in High
Street, Plaistow, before Ayoade
jogs up behind her and punches her
in the head.
She immediately falls to the ground
and was left lying unconscious on
the pavement, suffering three
broken teeth and a cut lip.
horrific attack, which showed
Ayoade jogging away from the
scene as Miss Kabir lay unconscious
on the ground. Ayoade had followed the teenager,
who is 5ft 5in, for around 800
metres before he struck. The
security camera also captures him
fleeing the scene.
Islamaphobic attacks are taking
place in the capital with greater
frequency, police figures reveal.
There was a 70 per cent increase in
the number of attacks recorded
between July 2014 and July this
year compared with the previous 12
months, according to the
Metropolitan Police.
But some London boroughs saw
figures more than double. Merton
witnessed the biggest increase,
rising 262 per cent from eight to
29.
Women who wear niqab, the face
veil, suffered more aggressive
incidents - there was something
about the face veil that in a way
brought out the worst in the
perpetrator
Fiyaz Mughal, from Tell Mama, an
organisation with monitors
Islamophobic incidents
Meanwhile, nine crimes were
reported in Richmond-upon-
Thames, compared to just one in
the previous year.
Fiyaz Mughal, from Tell Mama, an
organisation with monitors
Islamophobic incidents, said around
60 per cent of victims are women
who wear a headscarf or hijab.
He told the BBC: 'We also realised
quite early on that women who
wear niqab, the face veil, suffered
more aggressive incidents - there
was something about the face veil
that in a way brought out the
worst in the perpetrator.'
The Met attributed the increase
part to a willingness of victims to
report crime and an awareness of
police staff in being able to
identify those particular offences.
The force said events around the
world and holy days can also
'influence a rise in hate crime
incidents' as more officers are on
patrol and victims may be more
likely to report crime.
Commander Mak Chishty said: 'We
will not tolerate hate crime and
take positive action to investigate
all allegations, support victims and
arrest offenders.
'Victims of hate crime must be
assured that they will be taken
seriously by the police. Worrying: Miss Kabir's assault is an
example of the Islamaphobic attacks
that are on the rise in the capital
'We have more than 900 specialist
officers across London working in
our community safety units who
are dedicated to investigating hate
crime.
'We are always seeking ways to
increase reporting and work with a
number of third party reporting
sites so that victims who feel
unable to approach police direct can
report crime to non-police
organisations and individuals.
'Victims of hate crime can in
addition now report online on the
Met's website. No one should suffer
in silence, so please report hate
crime to us as soon as possible so
we can act.'

Jobaye1:
I am very surprised to hear about the gas crisis. My friend was just telling me that there was scarcity of gas alongside the fuel scarcity that almost paralysed our economy. You guys wont blame me for not being up to date with the gas situation as its been long i refilled my gas cylinder. I now use Biogas to cook at home, Biogas is gotten from the decomposition of my food leftovers. I am also happy to tell you all that the rate at which Lawma visits my compound has reduced as a sizable portion of my wastes is being recycled to gas. I have also designed a couple of Domestic biogas digesters for my neighbors and they wont stop thanking me. Biogas has all the attributes of LPG gas, only that one is way cheaper than the other. My dream is to make it start running on cars here in Nigeria so we all can be our own government.

Health / CNN Honours Adadevoh, Adichie, #bringbackourgirls Campaigner by AbuuUthaymeen(m): 9:03am On Dec 24, 2014
American satellite television channel, Cable News Network, has described the late consultant physician and endocrinologist, Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, as one of the most inspiring women of 2014.

Adadevoh was credited for halting the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria by restraining the Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer, who brought the deadly disease to the country.

The CNN profiled the late physician on a list of leading women it described as “extraordinary women and remarkable professionals” who excelled and stood out for their accomplishments in the outgoing year.

Although Adadevoh did not make the final 15-man shortlist which the CNN crowned its “Leading Women of 2014,” the cable news channel hailed her for being outstanding out of hundreds of women nominated across a wide range of professions worldwide.

“The Nigerian doctor died this year after overseeing the treatment of Ebola patient, Patrick Sawyer. Her efforts prevented the wider spread of Ebola in Nigeria,” the CNN wrote in her citation. She was listed among global women leaders, such as Myanmar Nobel Prize winner, Aung San Suu Kyi and Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

Also, co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, Hadiza Bala-Usman, appeared in the Humanitarian category of the listing.

She was described as an “activist and initiator of the protest movement” that requested the release of the over 200 pupils of Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok abducted by Boko Haram insurgents.

The news network credited Bala-Usman for initiating the campaign, which drew global attention to the plight of the kidnapped girls and led to the spread of the movement “worldwide.”

But CNN crowned prominent Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Adichie and Pakistani girl-child campaigner, Malala Yousafzai, alongside 13 other women as its Leading Women of 2014.

The other women who made the “final shortlist” were English actress of the Harry Potter fame, Emma Watson; Stanford University Professor of Mathematics, Dr. Maryam Mirzakhani; Public Protector of South Africa, Thuli Madonsela, among others.

CNN described Adichie as a writer who painstakingly drew attention to African literature throughout her award-winning career.

Earlier, Adichie, had been nominated for the Forbes’ Africa Person of the Year Award as well as Personality of the Year in the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards.

“CNN set out on a hunt to find the women who excelled in their professions in 2014. We wanted to know which women you felt deserved an accolade for their achievements this year and turned to our readers, partners, and organizations we’ve worked with this year to find out. The women with the most votes have been crowned our “Leading Women of 2014,” the CNN explained on its website .

Meanwhile, the Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh Health Trust on Tuesday welcomed the late consultant’s recognition by the CNN via its Twitter page.

The health trust rededicated its vision to engender a first-class sustainable healthcare system in Nigeria by delivering high-quality services to the entire population as a way of immortalising the ideals of the late physician.

The health initiative promised via its website, drasatrust.org, to provide medical equipment and supplies for proper diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease, as well as assisting in the prevention of outbreaks or epidemics and to support measures for handling such events.

“The Trust is a registered nonprofit created to continue Dr. Adadevoh’s legacy and provide support and funding to advance Nigeria’s healthcare system.

“The Trust works through collaboration and partnership with organisations and associations committed to its main objectives and owns and manages an endowment fund which is open to individual and institutional contributions,” the trust, which has Adadevoh’s son, Bankole Cardoso, as Board of Trustees Chairman, said.

Politics / Re: Boko Haram Are Not Muslims- El Rufai by AbuuUthaymeen(m): 4:00pm On Sep 24, 2014
Abdulsalam20: 1. Terrorism is above all murder. Murder is strictly forbidden
in the Qur’an. Qur’an 6:151 says, “and do not kill a soul that
God has made sacrosanct, save lawfully.” (i.e. murder is
forbidden but the death penalty imposed by the state for a
crime is permitted). 5:53 says, “… whoso kills a soul, unless
it
be for murder or for wreaking corruption in the land, it shall
be as if he had killed all mankind; and he who saves a life, it
shall be as if he had given life to all mankind.”
2. If the motive for terrorism is religious, it is impermissible
in
Islamic law. It is forbidden to attempt to impose Islam on
other people. The Qur’an says, “There is no compulsion in
religion. The right way has become distinct from error.” (-The
Cow, 2:256). Note that this verse was revealed in Medina in
622 AD or after and was never abrogated by any other verse
of the Quran. Islam’s holy book forbids coercing people into
adopting any religion. They have to willingly choose it.
3. Islamic law forbids aggressive warfare. The Quran says,
“But if the enemies incline towards peace, do you also incline
towards peace. And trust in God! For He is the one who
hears
and knows all things.” (8:61) The Quran chapter “The Cow,”
2:190, says, “Fight in the way of God against those who fight
against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! God loveth not
aggressors.”
4. In the Islamic law of war, not just any civil engineer can
declare or launch a war. It is the prerogative of the duly
constituted leader of the Muslim community that engages in
the war. Nowadays that would be the president or prime
minister of the state, as advised by the mufti or national
jurisconsult.
5. The killing of innocent non-combatants is forbidden.
According to Sunni tradition, ‘Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, the first
Caliph, gave these instructions to his armies: “I instruct you
in
ten matters: Do not kill women, children, the old, or the
infirm;
do not cut down fruit-bearing trees; do not destroy any
town . . . ” (Malik’s Muwatta’, “Kitab al-Jihad.”)
6. Terrorism or hirabah is forbidden in Islamic law, which
groups it with brigandage, highway robbery and extortion
rackets– any illicit use of fear and coercion in public spaces
for money or power. The principle of forbidding the
spreading
of terror in the land is based on the Qur’an (Surah al-Ma’ida
5:33–34). Prominent [pdf] Muslim legal scholar Sherman
Jackson writes, “The Spanish Maliki jurist Ibn `Abd al-Barr
(d.
464/ 1070)) defines the agent of hiraba as ‘Anyone who
disturbs free passage in the streets and renders them unsafe
to travel, striving to spread corruption in the land by taking
money, killing people or violating what God has made it
unlawful to violate is guilty of hirabah . . .”
7. Sneak attacks are forbidden. Muslim commanders must
give the enemy fair warning that war is imminent. The
Prophet
Muhammad at one point gave 4 months notice.
8. The Prophet Muhammad counseled doing good to those
who harm you and is said to have commanded , “Do not be
people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat
you well you will treat them well, and that if they do wrong
you
will do wrong to them. Instead, accustom yourselves to do
good if people do good and not to do wrong (even) if they do
evil.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
9. The Qur’an demands of believers that they exercise justice
toward people even where they have reason to be angry with
them: “And do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from
being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness.”[5:8]
All the verse you posted to Educate this people still won't make them desist from spewing trash and labelling all Muslims terrorist, they and the western media are only interested in promoting statements, utterances and the atrocities committed by this extremist. A brother even asked why are this people more interested in promoting terrorism by ignoring statements of middle course Muslims? Allah's help is sought.

That's one mistake we keep falling into, the islamophobes would popularize comments made by people seen by the generality of Muslims as being extreme while at the same time ignoring the comments by mainstream Muslims, condemning such extremist behavior, in essence why do they seem more interested in promoting extremism?
That question is one which is still begging for answer, it seems there is more to meet the eye than what they make us believe.Allahu musta'an

This issue as it seem is something which is trending and some people who ended marrying each other regretted the outcome, this kind of relationship is one built on disobedience to the rule of Allah and the directives of his messenger pbuh and whatever action a Muslim gets involved in while disobeying the command of Allah the future of such action can be "predicted" because it is incumbent upon all muslims that he/she must make it a duty to put Allah first and seek his direction or guidance on it ,but a situation where the reverse is the case is something which is terrible it pains me in the heart whenever I see muslimahs dating non-muslims and claiming it is love they have for them a love which is not because of Allah!
