I think some people got ITA on 27th June, i had seen someone post on canadavisa forum yesterday that he saw a round 11 which was later deleted.
Checking the CIC site now and it seems there's been an 11th round
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/index.asp?expand=mi-pr-express#mi-pr-express

1,575 ITAs with minimum of 469 points

@keni
You can access 25% of it if you are unemployed for at least 4 months
http://www.stanbicibtcpension.com/?page_id=387 check withdrawal enquiries

@solomonwis
Proof of availability is the confirmation from the Pension fund that 25% of your fund is available 4 months after you resign, in which case you have an ITA and successfully scaled thru the entire CIC process and ready to jet out.

I want to ask about proof of funds, if i use a current account balance as part of my POF, what do the CIC folks look for when conducting their checks, are they going to verify with the bank that i had the funds as at statement date or as at the date they are checking. Remember i'm asking about current account. I have other sources as part of my POF but i'm concerned about my current account because the balance keeps moving up and down

keni:
But how does the pension statement satisfy as proof of funds when you actually cant access that funds till you retire?

For people already in the EE pool yet to apply for Provincial nomination, check if your NOC is listed for SINP, You still have a chance to apply,

Quick one guys,

Is one allowed to apply for visitor visa and actually travel to Canada while processing FSW/EE?
Travel / Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by abyurla(f): 5:24pm On Jun 16, 2015
Its actually optional since you already have ACCA, if i had both, i would use ACCA with my 1st degree. You score 22 points for 2 or more post-secondary qualification while 21 points is for one post-secondary school

Momoluwa:

Hey thanks, I have ICAN also can I include that?
Travel / Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by abyurla(f): 12:55am On Jun 16, 2015
Include both your ACCA And HND in your WES application to enable you score point for 2 post-secondary education. Meaning that you must have both transcripts sent to WES

Momoluwa:
Dear All,

I had just wrapped my head around the idea of leaving the country, Series of events which got me thinking of the kind of future I want for my self and my family.

I'm 29, Married with two kids, I have a good Job, I work with one of the Big 4 audit firms, have been working for close to 6 years. My hubby also is not doing badly. BUT I need to leave this country, not for me but for the sake of my children.

Here goes my Credentials

HND- Accounting Upper credit
ACA- ICAN
ACCA- Wrote the last 2 papers in June and hoping to scale it.

Several soft skill training on the job
Very good audit and accounting knowledge.

Am I eligible to apply?
DO I stand a chance?

I have read some ....on the CDIC site, Raising the required finance for a family of 4 would not be difficult, I just need to know if I stand a chance of making it through.

I know sending of transcript is one of the prerequisite of getting one's degree evaluated, hence my being surprise. see screen shot of the msg i got from WES.
Anyways the lady helping me with the transcript ish said I should check back on Friday. Also i was suppose to pay her for the courier once the transcript is ready. If WES doesn't need it again, abeg make them tell me so I could save some change grin grin grin grin...
Still waiting for reply from anyone who can provide information regarding verification period from LASU...... I need to start swimming in this pool of life asap grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Did you receive a 2nd mail "required documents update" almost at the same time saying "Rejected" under status of documents required.

Cos I have a somewhat similar situation.
I collected my ICAN transcript and mailed to WES by myself, i included a 2nd envelope containing a copy of my OAU transcript and OAU/ICAN certificates. Since I had already assessed my OAU with CES,I didn't request transcript to be sent to WES. I included a copy of my CES assessment.
WES wrote me to say they have sent photocopies of my documents to OAU for verification and placed my file on hold until they receive a written response. Now I have no idea what that means cos I have no intention of requesting transcript again for WES. I've asked them twice/thrice to delete the OAU from my application since I'm unable to do so from my profile and release my ICAN assessment. No show yet.

Pls can you post the portion of the EE CRS criteria you quoted in your post "Certificate issued by a Canadian territory"?

Because if it's the 50points relating to this "Certificate of qualification (for people in trade occupations)", sorry to burst your bubble, it only applies to federal skilled trade applicants not federal skilled workers. Accounting is also not part of the entry-to-practice professions whose professional degrees can be assessed as masters. Law, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry etc are.

Your best bet in my opinion and what I've seen other ACCA holders do, is to send their ACCA transcript to WES for assessment, I'm currently awaiting my WES ICAN evaluation as well. It will most likely be assessed as a 3year bachelor's degree and you can then input two post secondary degrees in your EE profile.

Your CGA will work in your favor after you have been issued an ITA and seeking a job where you'll practise as an accountant.

Hope this helps.

flystanny007:
Hello everyone,

I need help please. I have a BSC in Accounting , plus a professional certificate (ACCA) which is the awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK. However there is a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between ACCA and CGA Canada (Certified General Accountants). I have applied to CGA and will be getting the certificate in a few days time. So my question is this. Does the certificate from CGA qualify for points under the requirement of a "Certificate issued by a Canadian territory"?

Is there anyone in my same situation? I plan to include it because it adds a whooping 50 points to my CRS score.

The same nasty experience I had with CES, submitted in November (a day before I discovered this forum and heard of WES), my assessment result came out in March. Pfffft pele hang in there, it will soon be out.

You can not submit your EE profile without IELTS And WES ECA anyway so yea go Ahead and process your transcript and ielts asap. If you submit without those two, you'll be ranked as ineligible.
Class of degree does not matter

chidike:

Hi Is it possible for me to apply to WES to have my results checked without having done any application?

I intend to sit for IELTS by August, I will like to know if I can have my transcript sent to WES now, my school knows how to delay in all these kind of stuff, so that hopefully by September they would have even sent the second verification response to WES. Please what do you guys advice?

Also does you class of degree matter?

I saw some posts earlier about using pension as proof of funds and i'm interested in pursuing that thought. I really wish it would be admissible, has anyone successfully tendered their Pension statement?
Is it really acceptable because PENCOM Act says "The employee may only withdraw from this account at the age of 50 or upon retirement thereafter". If the CIC guys are not aware of this...can one present it to them?

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 for principal applicant) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live

I used CES for my BSC assessment so I don't have a WES reference number.

I can obtain my ICAN transcript, it's not a problem. If i had seen this info last year, i could have sent my ICAN transcript for assessment but will one now pay for another assessment? cry undecided angry

bigfido:

Hello aby,
please can you mail WES to confirm this since you already have a WES reference number? I also tried reading through their website but can't find anything decisive there. On EE web page, they clearly asked for 2 or more certificate with one of them being atleast a university certificate. I think the ICAN can suffice for a second certificate. only problem now is verifying if you can get you ICAN transcript.
Best of luck
Travel / Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by abyurla(f): 5:39pm On Apr 25, 2015
Are you saying you assessed ACCA and another degree, and submitted both in your EE profile?

I asked here earlier if I could assess my ICAN transcript , no response in the affirmative, would you advise I try it? Also which of the WES assessment did you do? They seem to have quite a few related to the accounting qualification. I'm looking for an assessment that will indicate how the qualification measures up for the Canadian CPA as well as one to serve as 2nd degree for my EE profile.

Hello all,
I just started following this thread again yesterday. Even though I have done my WES and IELTS since last year, I decided to wait for the EE instead of FSWP. I just created my EE profile yesterday and I started swimming in the pool few minutes afterwards. I have been encouraged by all the contributors to this thread and I also want to render the little help I can. I have a very good IELTS material (which I used myself). Its The Official Cambridge Guide to IELTS Student's Book with Answers. All the audios for the listening tests and 17 sample videos from live speaking tests are included. You can PM me if you need the materials and I will send you the download link (1GB approximately). Its now your duty to find a way of downloading it. Cheers and goodluck to all.

Hello moderator,
I think it is better to create a dedicated thread for Express Entry. I can see that someone tried to achieve this in this thread:
https://www.nairaland.com/2064942/canada-permanent-residency-express-entry but you redirected the individual to this thread, which is originally for FSWP. Since both FSWP and EE are entirely different, I think it is better all the information relating to each are placed in their respective threads.

All is down to the urgency with which you need the evaluated result and the cash at hand......its all your choice and your call.
2.Its their standard procure duration of processing that makes the difference.

I'm about to send my forms to CES
1. With the 15 weeks estimated processing time and alternative use of limited funds, from your experience which is advisable? the regular mail that costs nothing or international courier of $75
2. I just got to know of WES on this thread, i had my school send my transcript to CES yesterday only to later learn of the 15 weeks processing time. Why is CES so much slower than WES ehn? angry angry shocked shocked shocked shocked
