Makinde won because of the coalition by aggrieved APC members led by Senator Lanlehin to support him and due to the fact that Ajimobi just like Oshiomhole was horribly disliked and the people decided to punish APC as a result of that. Ajimobi is dead now, the coalition that brought Makinde on board has also collasped. PDP underestimating APC in Oyo state would be to their own detriment.
