yea, developers made it support treble eventually, apart from rn5 i still haven't used a phone with that level of support.

Regarding oxygen OS, the one for note 5 is Oxygen OS 5.1.0 which is pie. Remember oneplus OS is close to stock AOSP and pie was the beginning of GSI. The OOS 5.1.0 is also a GSI or lemme say semi gsi it'll run on most phones with treble support.. Not only note RN5 think semi GSI may be thing a thing actually

In addition to the above, if you check youtube, you should see a ZUI 5.0 Oreo ported rom review on Redmi 5 plus and even another one on the Redmi Note 5.
With the above, you should see there is now a lot of added possibilities in terms of rom portability from one android OEM to another, it is now not limited to just AOSP roms alone.

yea, thats the whole idea about GSI, there is ZUI, Oxygen OS, Even ASUS zenfone max rom all for rn5

MIUI 10 nor MIUI in general isn't a GSI rom.

I just checked comments on Gsmarena, it's like the 3 slots is not 100% confirmed. A video review will shed better light on this part. Nonetheless, the phone is a very good alternative to Redmi note 5/6 pro.

you can fo it with redmi note 5, that one i know of. For older devices you need root.

I no dey direct my msg to anybody na, just stating my own experience

me personally, I've used havoc, havoc mod, syberia, syberia unofficial, liquid remix, arrow, pe and pe extended all within 2 days to see which one suits me the most. Flashing of roms is not for the faint hearted, i started with pe extended too but it had issues here n there, never went back it. But you have to give it to the developers, we barely donating to them and they still give updates with functionality u can see is there, not like miui updates that u won't see improvement anywhere

I'm going back to miui 10 abeg. I'm tired of this bug filled custom ROMs(PE extended and liquid remix ROM). Pubg lags so much on these custom ROMs with unnecessary overheating. I'm missing Miui features already sef.

what's our own bayii? No one asked you to change rom before now and if you change be responsible for anything that comes out of it. I know pple dat use up to 4 roms in a day, they aren't complaining to anyone about it

android has changed, it's more locked down now compared to the days of Android 4. We now have ARB, more tedious bootloader unlock method, encryption issues when changing rom and co. The app isn't that functional as a full blown recovery
