Car Talk / Re: What Is Really Wrong With a V6 Engine? by Acelifted: 12:29pm On Sep 30, 2013
Ikenna351: Am not hear to talk about how good, durable & fuel efficient a V6 can be. If its not that good, i wouldnt have gone for another V6 as my second car. Am not saying Inline 4 engine is not good, it depends on what you want out of a car, which am not here to discuss, since its not what this thread is all about.

That clown that told you to convert your car to I4 or swap in I4 engine to your V6 engine bay should not have any business with spanners. Or at least, should not have any business with modern cars with EFI engines like yours. Does he really know what it takes to do such a conversion? So he thinks it ends only with the engine swap? Interesting!

To swap in an I4 engine into that your car, that particluar I4 engine harness/wires, not just any Camry I4 harness, will also be swapped in, including that engine complete sensors, relays & ECU/PCM, which must be done with that I4 engine wiring diagram, which I bet you dont have. First, you need to know the paritcular I4 engine model number to get the exact diagram. Also, you should note that the transmission maynot match. So you will need to buy a complete I4 engine with tansmission bolted to it, including the tansmission sensors, harness & ECU too. The radiator maynot match as well, due to different positioning of the water pumps & thermostat housing on both the V6 & I4 engines. So you may need to swap in the I4 radiator too. The best way to do such conversion is to get a donor car & transfer what you need from the donor car to the car been converted. Remember, any wrong connection of the engine harness will result to a lot of issues. Either the car wont start at all or even if it starts, it will never run properly.

Its your call.

Ikenna.

IK, Thanks. You ve spoken correctly. I followed your advise. You do well.

Family / Shopping For Your Baby’s Diaper by Acelifted: 12:19pm On Sep 09, 2013

It is common for most expectant mums to get ecstatic about their unborn babies. In this euphoria, it is not unusual for would-be mothers (especially first timers) to go into a shopping frenzy, picking everything on the shelf the producer is careful enough to label as “excellent for your baby”. This is excusable, considering the fact that every mother (and of course father) wants the best her child.

On the long shopping list is one critical item that is usually within the first five – Baby diapers. Your child’s comfort and security is most important and a good diaper plays a vital role here. As early as the first two days of life, newborns pass stool 2 to 7 times each day. Newborns wet 2 to 6 diapers for the first 2 days and 6 to 10 each day thereafter.

Taste vs. Price?

However, what really informs your choice of the diaper you buy or stock for your child? Taste, affordability (price) or simply because your best friend or colleague in the office uses it for her baby and you feel it is okay for your baby? In Nigeria, the choice of baby diaper is influenced by all of the above. However, taste and price seem to have a higher level of influence on the consumers’ choice. While they (price and taste) occupy the primary position, other factors such as friend’s suggestion, expert’s advice, adverts, etc occupy the secondary position.

Whatever the case may be with you (financial constraint or affluence), the choice of a baby diaper should be influenced by the desire to make your child as comfortable as possible. Any diaper, as basic, must have the following qualities:

1. Good absorbency. Fewer leaks mean less dirty laundry, happier babies and happier parents.
2. A trim fit. Bulky diapers inhibit movement, especially for older babies and toddlers.
3. Secure tabs or snaps. Closures should keep diapers secure, and toddlers shouldn’t be able to undo them.
4. Comfortable material. Look for soft, breathable materials and well-fitted elastic that won’t leave marks on skin.
5. Materials that won’t irritate your baby’s skin. Finding out whether your baby reacts poorly to a particular diaper requires trial and error, but frequent diaper changes are the best way to prevent rashes.

A number of diapers in the Nigeria’s market offer these qualities to some extent. To get the best prices for baby diapers, you can visit www.pricecheck.com.ng. You will be able to compare prices of diapers in Nigeria, view offers and buy online.

On a general basis, the following rule of the thumb should apply in making purchases for your baby diapers:

1. Don’t stock up before your baby is here. It’s tempting, but you may want to think again. Whether you want to use cloth or disposable diapers, the first brand you try may be a dud.
2. Once you have the right one, buy in bulk. Particularly for disposables, it’s cheapest to buy a lot of diapers at once. But don’t go overboard. A growth spurt (especially for ‘buttie’ kids) mean your child needs another size more quickly than you expect.
3. More expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better. If you buy disposables, consider trying economy packs of the store brands. If they work for your child, you’ll save big over premium brands.

I don't blame his desire to hold on to power a while. The accident was just too sudden. Any attempt to resign now will not only keep him from making the millions he has targeted to make within his tenure but will also expose a lot of ongoing fraud. He therefore needs to come and tidy up loose ends,, close all necessary books, settle those that need to be settled, shut the mouth that needs to be shut and rake in a substantial amount of money. Do you think he is the only one that ones to remain in power? There are other vested interests as well. It is well oooo.

Religion / Paying The Prayer Debt by Acelifted: 3:59pm On Jul 31, 2013
Hebrews 9:15 NIV: For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

Here the scripture reveals to us that it was not until Christ died at the close of the Old Testament that the price for sins in the Old Testament was paid.

In other words, a debt of sin was accumulating from the time of Adam (Gen.3:1-21) in the Garden of Eden: so even though God forgave the sins of men and temporarily covered them with blood of animals that were killed, the actual price for sin was not paid until the Lord Jesus, suffered and died for our sins.

This truth is shown in

Hebrews 9:7-9 NIV: But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. (cool The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing. (9) This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper.

Hebrews 10:4-14 NIV: because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. (5) Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; (6) with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. (7) Then I said, 'Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, O God.'" (cool First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them" (although the law required them to be made). (9) Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He sets aside the first to establish the second. (10) And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (11) Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. (12) But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. (13) Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, (14) because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

That is why the Old Testament saints did not go to heaven but to Abraham's bosom under the earth, until after the Lord Jesus had paid the price, preached to the spirits in prison and lead captivity captive to heaven (Luke 16:23-26, 1 Pet. 3:18-19, Eph. 4:8-10).

Hebrews 11:39 AMP: And all of these, though they won divine approval by [means of] their faith, did not receive the fulfillment of what was promised,

Now, just as a sin debt had been accumulating from the time of Adam in the Garden of Eden, so also has a prayer debt been accumulating.

Why?

A prayer debt has been accumulating because God has had and is still doing a lot of things on the earth by His sovereign mercy, even though, legally He needs men to allow Him legal access into the earth: this is why we HAVE TO PRAY.

Psalms 115:16 NKJV: The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's; But the earth He has given to the children of men.

So every time God intervenes sovereignly in the earth without men releasing the power of God into the earth through prayer, a prayer debt occurs; just like a sin debt occurred every time God forgave sin and simply covered it with blood of an animal that was killed.

This also why we see so much evil in the earth: because God is prudent, there is a limit to how much He does in the earth sovereignly to make sure the sovereign debt does not escalate beyond a level that man can pay back before the close of this age.

Ezekiel 22:30-31 NKJV: So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. (31) Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads," says the Lord GOD.

Ephesians 1:7-8 AMP: In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor, (cool which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence),

So, God only intervenes sovereignly at crucial times and events in human history and individual lives so that His plan and purpose on the earth and individual lives (for those with honest hearts (2 Chr. 16.9)) will continue; but if we want to enjoy the fulness of God's blessings in our lives WE MUST PRAY EFFECTUALLY AND FERVENTLY (Jas. 5.16).

So NOW just as the sin debt had to be paid at the close of the age of the Old Testament, the prayer debt has to be paid at the close of the age of the New Testament.

This is a LEGAL requirement that God MUST fulfill before this age can close to show His righteousness to all men:

Psalms 51:4 NIV: Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.

This is the reason why during the season of the Day of Atonement (about 1950-2000) and in the early part of this present season (about 2000-2050) of ingathering, we have not seen too much of external spectacular miracles as a significant measure of the power of God released in prayer during this time has been used internally for spiritual growth and to reduce the prayer debt.

In fact, the manifestation of sons of God carrying the glory of God will indicate that the prayer debt has been fully paid. From then onwards because of the great revival of prayer and spiritual growth that will come upon the church sweeping in great multitudes into the church from the nations who will be discipled in prayer, everything God does sovereignly on the earth will be paid for DAILY by prayer: the prayer account, so to speak, will always be balanced or in credit before the Lord Jesus returns for the rapture fulfilling the scripture in

Isaiah 2:2-3 AMP: It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be [firmly] established as the highest of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow to it. (3) And many people shall come and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law and instruction, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Isaiah 56:7 KJV: Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

So we are to pay the prayer debt by consistent, habitual, daily (Heb. 5.7, Lk.9.23) united prayer in the Spirit for all saints and all men as shown in

Ephesians 6:18 NKJV: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for ALL the saints—

1Timothy 2:1-2 NKJV: Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for ALL men, (2) for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

Religion / Lawyer Accuses Pilate Of 'judicial Misconduct,' Seeks To Nullify Jesus' Trial by Acelifted: 3:12pm On Jul 31, 2013
This is another one from one the funny characters of this world

The conviction of Jesus by Pontius Pilate may be the most famous court verdict ever—and perhaps the most consequential, since it led to Christ’s crucifixion and the founding of a global religion.

Now a Kenyan lawyer wants to overturn Pilate’s decision, though he wants to keep the faith that flowed from it.

“The selective and malicious prosecution (of Jesus) violated his human rights,” said Dola Indidis, a Roman Catholic who is petitioning the International Court of Justice, based at The Hague, to nullify Jesus’ conviction and death sentence.

Indidis, a former spokesman for the Kenyan judiciary, accuses Pilate, who was the Roman governor of Judea, of “judicial misconduct, abuse of office, bias and prejudice.”

That may well be the case, at least in the view of believers and many Bible scholars. But getting a court to rule on a 2,000-year-old case from an outlying province in a long-defunct empire will not be easy.

Indidis first brought his case before the Kenyan High Court in Nairobi in 2007, but the court refused to hear it, saying it lacked jurisdiction.

Now he is turning to the International Court of Justice, often referred to as the World Court, which is best known for ruling on territorial disputes between members of the United Nations.

Officials at The Hague would not confirm or deny that they have received a petition.

But Indidis seems undeterred and points to the example of Joan of Arc, the 15th-century saint who led the French to major victories against the English before she was captured and burned at the stake. A quarter-century after Joan’s death her conviction was overturned by a papal court, and in 1920 she was canonized.

Indidis’ petition has surprised Christian leaders in Kenya. The Rev. Maloba Wesonga, a spokesman for the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi, said the exercise was futile, at least from a theological point of view.

“As we know it, the trial had to happen,” said Wesonga. “We must understand that Jesus was not vulnerable and nobody can do justice to God.”

Family / Before You Get A Washing Machine For Your Home Read This by Acelifted: 4:20pm On Jul 16, 2013
LG WASHING MACHINE WP-750R (TOP LOADER)REVIEW

Overview

This pocket-friendly machine is built for the middle level families in Nigeria. The capacity is strictly for small to medium families with very moderate periodic laundry. It is not built for mega commercial purposes or for use in large hotels and laundry outfits with large volumes of laundry, except functioning primarily in a supportive role.

Pros

Considering the poor water supply situation in Nigeria, this machine is built to minimize use of water. It allows you to regulate the amount of water used for every set of laundry as water can be manually poured into the drum (just the quantity you need) and drained by turning the “drain selector” knob at the top that allows water to flow out through a hose connected to the back of the machine and can be directed into the bathroom or drain.

An added advantage is its energy saving feature. Consumes minimal power and will hardly jack up your electricity bills. It also has a spinner compartment that functions as a drier, with time selector that ranges between 1-5 minutes. It actually removes moist from the clothes and can completely dry up clothes that are light in texture. However, whatever the texture of the cloth you are washing, the dryer compartment can help reduce moist up to 70%-80%. So you don’t have to leave your clothes out for too long to dry.

Cons

This machine’s downside is its incomplete automation. About 40% of activities have to be manually done- Filling the drum with water, draining the soapy water, re-filling the drum with fresh water for rinsing, transferring the clothes to the dryer section, draining the water – all have to be done manually. So it requires constant supervision. But the machine, through its Wash Timer, allows you to time the duration for washing, between the ranges of 3 – 15 minutes. So you can actually attend to other chores while laundering.

Availability

The LG Washing Machine WP-750R is popularly marketed Fouani Nigeria Ltd, with offices located in popular cities and towns in Nigeria. Other stores such as Idea Konsult (predominantly in the southwest), Jumia and Konga also have these product in stock (as the time of publishing this blog).

Family / What Type Of Insecticide Do You Use In Your Home? by Acelifted: 10:13am On Jul 16, 2013
Have you taken time to go through the information contained on the can of the insecticide before spraying? Do you know the composition and its effect on you and your pet? READ THIS:

A REVIEW OF TOTAL INSECTICIDE (AEROSOL)

Overview of Key Features

Total insecticide is manufactured by Aerochim, for Total, with factory located at Paris, France. in Nigeria, Total insecticide comes in 400ml. Total insecticide contains Tetramethrin, And Deltamethrin, and prallethrin as Active ingredients.

Pros

1. This insecticide is surprisingly a performer. The use of molecules with a “knock-down” effect enables the substance to literally knock out the insect, leaving the “killer” molecule to finish the job. This gives it an edge over many of the other brands available.
2. Total insecticide has a mild, non-offensive smell.

Cons

1. Total insecticide is not readily available in all stores and supermarkets across the country.
2. Like in all aerosols, the use of highly flammable ingredients like propellants in Total insecticide increases risk of domestic fire, if carelessly handled.
3. All its active ingredients – Prallethrin, Tetramethrin, and Deltamethrin – have been shown to have adverse effects directly on human health, though in rare measures. They are however highly toxic to cats and aquatic lives. So for cat owners, you may need to be very careful when using your insecticides with your cat around.

General Cautionary Tips

1. As much as possible, the use of insecticides should be as few and far between as possible. It is better to apply other preventive measures that will keep both flying and crawling insects away from your home.
2. The use of insecticides should not be the primary means of protecting yourself an family against malaria. Other harm-free measures like the use of mosquito nets, making sure all exit doors and windows are properly shut, especially when the sun begins to set and keeping your home free from mosquito breeders like stagnant water and refuse should form your primary strategy. Insecticides can come sparingly, when for instance, you mistakenly leave the door or windows open.
3. Please always read the instruction on the container. They usually contain useful information and warnings.

Religion / More Rude Things People Do In Church by Acelifted: 10:59am On Jul 14, 2013
J Lee Grady last week compiled a list of the “Top 10 Rudest Things People Do in Church.” He mentioned talking during a service, texting or surfing the web, sleeping, clipping fingernails during church (I’ve actually seen this one and it grossed me out!) and six other pet peeves you probably agree with.

His list got me thinking—and asking others—about rude behavior in church. I asked some of my Facebook friends to chime in on some of the rudest things they’ve witnessed during Sunday morning worship services. The responses were troubling and indicate a sign of the times we live in, where, in many cases, the Word of God being preached is no longer revered.

Here are some of the most interesting responses:

1. Eating Pop-Tarts (or other food) during service. I understand that some people have blood-sugar issues or other problems, but I am hard-pressed to believe that most of the people noshing on breakfast foods during morning worship are prediabetic. In our rushed society, many may not get up early enough to eat breakfast before church. Some are bringing food from the church cafe into the sanctuary. Nibbling on a cracker is one thing. Having your morning meal is quite another. This is inappropriate. We should be focused on eating a spiritual meal or else step outside to snack if we can’t make it through the service. With regard to people eating the Lord's supper (communion), Paul wrote: "Do you not have houses to eat and drink in?" (1 Cor. 11:22).

2. Eyeballing the opposite sex with lustful eyes. Many people meet and fall in love in church. That's awesome! But the church is not a meat market. People should be able to go to church without being gawked at with lustful eyes. Based on some of the comments I saw on Facebook, apparently the sanctuary isn’t always a safe place for women pursuing God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. Of course, with some of the outfits women wear to church these days, it’s hard to put all the blame on the guys. The Lord says, "Be holy, for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16).

3. Heckling the pastor. If you are in a church that deals with recovering alcoholics and homeless people, you are bound to have at least one guy who heckles the pastor—or at least hollers out with inappropriate answers to rhetorical questions from time to time. They don't know btter, but ushers need to be properly trained on how to deal with this and other disruptions so that the word of God can go forth unhindered.

4. Tapping you on the shoulder when you are deep in worship to scoot by you and find a seat. How annoying! You are crying out to God over a deep issue in your life and on the verge of a breakthrough when Johnny Come Lately barges in, bumping into you as he tries to find a seat next to his buddy (who’s eating his breakfast on the third row).

5. Coming up behind you and laying hands on you suddenly. I’m all for the laying on of hands, but having a stranger who just clipped his fingernails—or who just heckled the pastor, or who disrupted you during deep worship—deciding to lay hands on you without permission is beyond rude. It can be sort of creepy. Even if they weren’t eating Pop-Tarts or engaging in any of the other rude behaviors mentioned, it’s still creepy for someone you don’t know to pounce on you and begin praying in some strange tongue.

Here are a few other pet peeves folks mentioned about rude behavior they see in church:

Not showing up at all because you find out the senior pastor isn’t preaching

Clipping coupons

Treating those less fortunate like they don’t belong there

Being unfriendly

Digging up their nose (yuck!)

Constantly looking at their watch

Mocking the way someone worships

Making fun of people singing on the platform

Passing notes back and forth

Conversations across pews

Clapping and shouting so loud during prophetic words that you can’t hear what’s being said

Talking about how someone’s weave looks

The list goes on and on. Yet some of my Facebook connections were upset that I asked the question. One commenter said it was judgmental. Another said it wasn’t edifying. Still another said the person sleeping in church could be having a prophetic dream. I think they are missing the point. Church is not a place to clip your toenails—or your coupons. Church is not a place to lust after the opposite sex. Church is not a place to catch up on your meal planning.

God is gracious and merciful, much more than we are about distractions. But here's the bottom line: When the Word of God is being preached, respect should be offered as if Jesus was standing there Himself. It’s not about the messenger or what he is wearing or what his hair looks like. It’s about the message. We should pay attention to the Word of truth, especially in this hour when deception is rising, instead of texting our friends, passing notes, whispering about what we’re going to do when the pastor finally finishes preaching, or talking about somebody’s hairstyle.

Lost souls who don’t know better, well, they don’t know better. But church members who come in every week need to be gently corrected. After all, Jesus warned us to be careful how we listen: “Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him” (Luke 8:18). When we’re in church, we need to remember why we’re there. We need to cut out all the distractions and focus on the Lord—and we need to be respectful of the people around us whose lives may depend on the Word being preached. Amen.

Webmasters / Re: This Webmaster Is Charging Me $350 For A Wordpress Site by Acelifted: 2:33pm On Jul 13, 2013
miracle4: what functionality is the website gonna have or is it a scam site ?

Yes, what are the functionalities of the website? Is it an e-commerce site, e-learning? Games? Etc. State exactly what you asked him to do. Wordpress site on Evanto.com range from between $50 - $150, depending on the designer, quality of design etc. However, when u buy it, you need to customize it, so that your website won't look exactly the same like that of others who bought the same template and ofcourse, customized to perform the functionality you want it to perform. If he is going to buy modules and pluggins to do that, then it may not really be high. Some of these modules/pluggin go for as high as $150.

Let me know. We can work something out.

It is the innocent masses that will suffer, not the politicians. Politicians will still buy and use fuel, even if its sold for N250/litre. I don't think it is a good move. Abeg ooo. I can't imagine the suffering.

Properties / Many Feared Dead As Building Collapses In Kaduna by Acelifted: 10:33pm On Jul 11, 2013
Tragedy struck on Thursday in Kaduna following the collapse a three -storey building in the metropolis.
Scores of traders and residents were said to have been trapped in the building which served both as residential and commercial building.
Residents as well as traders in the market watched helplessly for three hours without sghting rescue operators.
They lamented that three hours after the collapse of the building, no heavy duty vehicle that could rescue those trapped in the building was sighted.
There is no hope that residents trapped would be rescued alive.
Even the Governor of the state, Ramallan Yero, one of the early callers at the scene of the incident, wept on sighting the building.
He left the scene of the incident and came back at about 4:15pm when a crane from the Julius Beger Constrcution Company had commenced work on the collapsed building.

Politics / Re: Cleric Asks Jonathan To Sign Anti-gay Bill Into Law by Acelifted: 1:19pm On Jul 09, 2013
cold: Whilst I have personal reservations about the whole gay furore,i find it difficult to fathom why the anti-gay stance is predicated mainly on the premise of religion. Jesus never got married, walked around with 12 men, wore flowing gowns without underpants. Hmm..Ok,i'll say no more

What are you talking about? is that a sensible line of argument? were you there to peep under his gown to see if He was not wearing an undergown? Why do you heap on yourself and your generation (unborn children) coals of hot judgement for silly utterances? Be careful! Be really careful!!. This warning is not only to you but all you who think you can seat behind your system and denigrate God because you think its a liberal world. Even the Devil (your master) dares not open his mouth to denigrate God, The great I AM. He (devil) pushes you to do what he never does, even though his own judgment is sealed. You still have a chance. If you choose to continue on this part, you will be deserving what is coming to you.... beginning in few days time.

Thats the spirit.

Its not always about jumping on the bandwagon especially given the fact that this section is strongly satanic and anti-christian.

The aim of the post is simply to enlighten us to those things we do with a determination to stop and give God the honor He deserves when we gather before Him. We can't do these things in the presence of our human leaders - bosses, governors or even your in-laws (when you want to get married).

Well, I don't know if this section is satanic but an admonition is an admonition and those who will benefit it from (by making the necessary repentance) will benefit. Even if its one person, its important to God.
