Politics / Chadian Troops Rescue 85 Nigerian Hostages From Boko Haram by aceman(m): 4:19am On Aug 17, 2014
Chadian troops have rescued 85 Nigerians
kidnapped last week by the Islamist terror group
Boko Haram, security and human rights sources
in Nigeria said Saturday.
Dozens of Boko Haram insurgents stormed the
Doron Baga fishing and farming village on the
shores of Lake Chad late Sunday through Monday
and took away 97 young men and boys plus
several women, residents said. The raiders killed
28 residents and burned scores of homes,
according to residents.
The hostages were loaded onto motorboats and
ferried into neighboring Chad, with residents
saying they feared the hostages would be
forcefully conscripted as foot soldiers.
Chadian security officials reported intercepting a
convoy of buses carrying 85 Nigerians" believed
to have been kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists
from Baga," a Nigerian security source said.
"The convoy being led by six Boko Haram
gunmen was stopped on the Chadian part of the
border along Lake Chad for routine checks and
the huge number in the convoy raised suspicion,"
said the source, who asked not to be named
because he was not authorized to speak on the
issue.
An official of the National Human Rights
Commission (NHRC) in Maiduguri confirmed the
rescue of the 63 male and 22 female hostages.
The source, who asked that his name not be
used, said more than 30 hostages were still being
held by Boko Haram. He said their captors sped
off with them in motorboats when they spotted
the convoy being questioned by Chadian soldiers.
Boko Haram has been waging a five-year armed
insurgency to create an Islamic state in northern
Nigeria. The group has carried out series of
abductions, including the April kidnapping of more
than 200 schoolgirls from a boarding school in
the town of Chibok.
Boko Haram uses its hostages as conscripts and
sex slaves, according to authorities. They say
Boko Haram has killed more than 12,000 people
and displaced more than half a million residents

Giannakopoulos: FG quarantined her and she could still travel, then the word "quarantine" has to be redefined to us by this our unserious FG.

The report said that she evaded quarantine. We don't need to blame the FG as a habit, even when facts show that they are making a very good effort . If you must play the blame game, you MAY blame the nurse, but she is only human and irrational like many.

Playing the blame game won't solve this problem . All the "likes" you got for your statement doesn't solve the problem too

GAZZUZZ:

One or both abs sensors located in the front wheels of you vehicle has been damaged, with a simple multimeter a good technician can locate and replace the faulty culprit. Unfortunately you might have to scan your vehicle to locate the faulty sensor new sensors cost arround 5k each, tokumbor are like 2500-3k each.

I'm in Abuja, can you kindly recommend who can supply the sensor?

Thanks for the diagnosis and suggestions, I'll try and get it replaced.

On another note, I recently ordered a D900 OBD II scanner, if I have it, will I be able to use it to identity the faulty sensor by myself and save the cost of the diagnosis?

More grease to your elbows .

Very useful thread.

I had the wheel studs and break pads on my Odyssey replaced 3 days ago, and since then the ABS and TCS has been on. The mechanic did a lot of banging during the work, could he have damaged anything? The car moves ok, not I'm not comfortable with those indicators being on like that. Pls what can be the problem and likely solution?
Travel / Passenger Falls Out Of Plane by aceman(m): 12:01pm On Nov 15, 2013
A passenger fell out of small plane and plummeted into the water in Miami's Biscayne Bay today, police said.

The plane was flying at 1,800 feet at the time.

Air traffic control received a "mayday" call around 1:30 p.m. ET when the Piper PA 46 was flying roughly eight miles southeast of Tamiami Executive Airport.

"Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! I have a door ajar and I'm heading toward Tamiami," the pilot told air traffic control. "I have a door ajar and a passenger that fell down. I'm six miles from Tamiami."

"You said you've got a passenger that fell out of your plane?" the air traffic controller asks the pilot.

"That's correct, sir. He opened the backdoor and he just fell out the plane," said the unidentified pilot.

The aircraft continued onto Tamiami Airport and landed.

Miami-Dade Police tell ABCNews.com that their homicide unit was dispatched to the airport Thursday afternoon to question the pilot. The only people aboard the plane had been the pilot and the passenger, police said.

Detectives are currently at the Tamiami Airport "talking to the pilot to see what transpired before the passenger fell from the plane."

Divers with the Miami-Dade police department are searching the area where the man is believed to have fallen into the water. That area is between the Cape Florida Lighthouse on Key Biscayne and the seashore so some-where in that section of Biscayne Bay.

The Coast Guard station Miami Beach sent a search and rescue boat to search the waters and Miami-Dade County Air Rescue dispatched one of their helicopters as well. That helicopter has since been called off.

Politics / Patience Jonathan Needs Our Empathy - The Truth Should Be Told by aceman(m): 6:52pm On Oct 03, 2012
Let’s empathise with the First
lady –Okupe
The Presidency said on Tuesday that it
expected Nigerians to empathise with
and pray for the First Lady, Mrs.
Patience Jonathan and not probe into
her health problems.
Senior Special Assistant to the President
Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr.
Doyin Okupe, said this when asked to speak
on the First Lady’s whereabouts.
He was asked to also clarify if the silence from
the Presidency on Mrs. Jonathan was not
fuelling rumours concerning her health.
Okupe, who was very reluctant to speak on
the issue argued that Nigeria has gone
through a lot of trauma in term of leadership,
deaths and ill luck in the past.
“Ordinarily, I do not want to comment on this
matter. Nigerians have gone through a lot of
trauma in term of leadership and death and
ill luck and all that (in the past)” he said.
“Abacha died in the Villa, Obasanjo’s wife
died in the Villa, Yar’Adua lost his life in the
Villa.
“I think even if it is a suggestion that the wife
of the President is sick, what I will expect
Nigerians to feel is empathy, not probing, not
questioning (about her health).
“Have we become so disenchanted with
leadership as to believe that the leadership is
inhuman? I believe that the First Lady is hale
and hearty. I want to leave it like that.”

I live in Abuja and I see the rainbow when it is normal to see one - rainy days or rainy weather. The issue is that so many people go about with their heads down and there mind on problems that they do not take time to look up and appreciate the heavens.

Women rise for Yerima in Zamfara

Women, under the umbrella of Zamfara State Joint Youths Islamic Organisation, yesterday took to the streets of Gusau, the state capital, protesting against the child rights bill.

The protest followed the controversy surrounding the marriage of former Governor Ahmad Sani Yerima to an Egyptian minor.

Yarima’s action has been condemned by women rights organisations and other rights groups.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the protesters, comprising school age girls and women, thronged the streets in a peaceful demonstration against Yerima’s chastisement.

They went to the state secretariat, Government House and House of Assembly, waving placards with inscriptions that condemned the child rights bill.

Some of the inscriptions read: "No to Zionism", "Islam is my religion" and "We reject child rights act".

The protest, scheduled to terminate at the House of Assembly, rounded up at the group’s secretariat, following the refusal of the Assembly to grant the protesters audience.

The group’s leader, Hajiya Safiaya Haidara, said: "The child rights bill is a contravention of Section 38 of the 1999 Constitution which grants every Nigerian right to practice his or her religion."

Safiya, who was represented by the secretary of Muslim Sisters’ Organisation, Hajiya Binta Mohammed, described the bill as an infringement on Muslims’ rights to practice their religion.

The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Mr. Iniobong Ememobong, yesterday said the body would sue Yerima for contravening the Child Rights Act.

Describing the ex-governor’s marriage to a minor as demeaning and embarrassing, Ememobong said: "Nigerian students will not rest until Yerima is made to face the law over his despicable action,

"We do not want him to portray Nigeria as a lawless country. A man of his status is not expected to marry the age mate of his granddaughter, no matter the urge."

For me, the hottest Nollywood actress is Mercy Johnson. She has a very very hot body that always exudes sexiness.

One thing I also find interesting about her is how she is able to portray young unsofiisticated girls - but her sex appeal always betray her and shines forth.

If only she can pose for Playboy,
