I see a lot of ignorant comments here. Criminology is a good course and is not just limited to police work.
As a criminologist.. you can work as a paralegal, work with immigration, virtually all force in nigeria. Sss, Frsc, efcc, icpc, nscdc, customs etc. You can get a banking job. You can decide to join the military through the direct short service. You can actually work in any kind of establishment cos every establishment needs security. It ll be an added advantage if you have a first degree in lets say..computer science and PGD or masters in criminology. And if you are studying criminology as a first degree, you can go for any information techology course at the masters level. Dont be discouraged. Criminology is a good course. And guess what . Nigeria paramilitary like customs, immigrations, sss, is among goverment establishment that pays good salary.

please when did you finished your NYSC and what are you currently doing since you finished nysc? mind you any unexplained gap from the time you finished nysc till now you want to apply,factually you must be refused the visa,cos from your post i didnt see any related employment docs of yours and your bank acct statement, unless you have any activity that occupies you that you want to put in place of that to cover up the gaps.so im speaking relatively to the concern of i don't know what year/month you finished your NYSC.

I finished nysc last year.. And i have been workin with my dad, helpin him with his business. Sales of food products and beverages. I stated that in my sop.. On the other hand..i also work for an education consult where i tutor kids in the evening computer science and. I didnt state this in my sop. I studied computer science and i am going for information security managemt at fanshawe college.

ust re applied for my study permit. My cousin, who resides and work in the us is my sponsor..This are the document i submitted.

My concerns are i didnt include birth certificate of my sponsor to show relationship. But in her affidavit of support which was notarized..she states it there that we are cousins. And in the sponsorship declaration she stated that she s sponsoring me because my dad took care of her education from the primary level to tetiary.so she s kinda returning the favor.
Also..my cousin is married with two kids which she stated in the affidavit of support..but her bank statement, work id still bears her maiden name. Even she was refered to by her maiden name in the reference letter from her employer. House what do you think about this.. #pgd 8 months

Listen if inconsistency exist between ur UG study,ur work and ur intended program..bro sincerely telling you this application will be futile according to the criteria this VOs use.more over saying ur ar working on ur SOP as a sales manager if logically assumed it was consistent with ur UG study or intended program and u didnt provide documentry evidence meeting the requirements,u ll be denied..any1 can state im employed
and work as this and that but what justifies it,is the evidence before the VO..dont stab ur self and dash this people money without sorting yourself out.

[your application is Good but im not seeing your employment documents or are you still doing NYSC or freshly passed out from NYSC. remember if you have a long idle gap after your NYSC,your purpose of visit will be questioned! Moreover i wld v loved if your sponsor paid at least ur living expenses or some money covering accommodation etc. into ur personal acct and explaining that to the VO.that will also get the VO convinced that ur far away Sponsor is committed to ur financial obligations

I finished nysc last year feb.. Tho i av employment at a food company as a sales manager, which doesnt relate to my course of study but i included that info in my sop.. My sponsor made a letter of sponsorship and stated clearly that she ll be responsible for my stay in canada for a year.. Course duration, 8 months..and also with a notarized affidavit. .

The grey area concerning your application is that your sponsor(relative) is not your sibling but resides outside your country of residence. VOs are more comfortable dealing with a sponsor who is not your sibling but resides in your country of residence. This gives an EXTRA assurance that your sponsor will not neglect you. But Note that these factor come into place because VOs are given power to exercise their discretion application review.

since the paris incident, i have seen and read about nigerians condeming fellow nigerians for showing symphathy and support for france lemme say this.. theres nothing wrong in showing support and sympathy for victims of paris terrorist attack. Its often easy for us to condemn whites as being racist where as our actions and opinions proves that we can be more of a racist too.. i remembered vividly that the world showed support when our girls was kidnapped..because some group took it upon themselves to create awareness about the tragic incident and ganered worldwide attention. They came up with # bringbackourgirls which was a brilliant idea. The world tweeted and hashtagged.. talked about it and showed support.. that was the way we created awareness and solicit for support. The flag/ # prayforparis is the way france is askin for support.. The french came up with the idea of the flag and #prayforparis to get the same support we got from the world. And then the ignorant ones are saying to the people showing support that they are being brainwashed..now my question is did we brainwash the rest of the world in showing us support after our girls were kidnapped.? Now some of us has stopped showin support for france just because some people say to you that you are being brainwashed if you use the flag or hashtagged pray for paris. Where as the real brainwashing starts from the moment you think showing support and sympathy for france is wrong based on the stupid statement made by some foolish people who probably have racist thoughts and are making you to think like them..

You are one lucky person. In many cases, CIC would have already denied the applicant (for "insufficient funds" ) once there are questions about the sufficiency or authenticity of the submitted financial documents.

In any case, you haven't provided enough information in order for us to know how to respond to your question. What were the concerns stated by CIC? What is the content of the mail (just summarize it for us)?

from the mail sent to me.. it says that they have concerns that the bank statement provided in support of my application is fraudulent. i dont know what that means..because to the best of my knowledge theres nothing fraudulent in the statement submitted... though the amount in the account as at the time of my application has greatly reduced now..its my mum's salary account. it took months to build up the account to the figure i used in applying..[13m] majorly funds from friends and family.. and they have sinced requested for thier money right after my application was submitted..

Hi room.. i recieved a mail from cic today.. stating concerns about the soa i provided.. also..my mum is my sponsor and i didnt include her pay slips, work id card. Etc. when submiting my application.. now cic has given me 7 days to make any representation in this regard. Also can i use a co-sponsor who 's not a family member. Pls kindly treat as urgent

Keep praying and fast. GOD will work it your way... Got medical mail on Nov2 without medical form after 2 weeks of submitting. I sent CIC mail about it.
People has been telling me to go to IOM to do it as upfront that CIC doesn't reply mails, but I went to IOM I was told it's a risk sha because for me to have been called for medical they hv generated IME for me and UCI at CIC. So the lady at IOM said it a risk for me if I do upfront . I came home and prayed. CIC sent the medical form just dis past Monday. Did the medical yesterday.
I'm just trying to tell you to have faith and don't think negative but Positive. It will come out Good.

Hello God is at work my sister got her visa today without medical mail, no upfront medical with virgin passport. The only mail gotten is ur document has been dispatched thinking she was denied but God did it am having hope on my God show ur self. Pls did it mean she will do medical when she get to canada.

each application is reviewed on a case by case basis and from your documents posted above i think you have nothing to worry about moreso as your mother is your sponsor, though inclusion of her payslips and employment letter would have been good, you've included other documents showing the relationship and current trends indicate that VO's certainly gravitate towards parent sponsorship a great deal, so do not fret or be confused.

I'm getting scared cos, reading through this thread, (by the way, from page 6 to 9)I realise most applicants submitted more than what I had submitted under sponsor)
Is this a bad thing?

Also, I actually took pictures of my family and share certificates of my mum along to the vfs office during submission, but I found out later after I got home..that the pictures and the share certificates was excluded and placed back into the envelope I gave them.

I'm confused..
