I have solemnly sworn not to have a business in Nigeria. What kinda wickedness is this? If he sold this mutherfvcken cement at the right price, house for full everywhere but no he chooses to monopolize it(supported by the zombies governing this shitthoole) and everyone suffers. F^©k Dangote. It will never be well with your 4th generation.
The country is a complete zoo. At this point I would rather invest in Ghana or Kenya than Nigeria. Worthless country full of zombies and monkeys. Dangote is selling cement for double (and sometimes triple) the international prices and monkey dey suffa and smile.

Dangote is not donating to politicians there or to the two major political parties in that country as he does in Nigeria. Someone has to pay after all.

His business there probably run on public electricity supply, thereby reducing his costs unlike Nigeria where he probably has to bribe electricity distribution companies and has to have standby generator sets.

Less cost of production will lead automatically to lower prices of goods.
Dangote has a EBITDA (this calculates profits before tax, interest, depreciation, etc.) margin of 60%,. He says it in his annual report. If he has an EBITDA margin of 60% and he is selling for 3,000 naira, his cost of production is only 1200 naira. Also, notice how much lower the EBITDA margin is in "Pan Africa" which is his operations outside Nigeria.

This just just open price gouging. And you monkeys are too dumb to see it.

I believe the Lebanese had more cash (maybe due to a stronger currency) and could develop a larger area to sell. The Nigerians built personal houses mostly. That's why it looks that way. I'm sure it was the Lebanese guys who did the buildings that developed the landscape as well. The blame should fall on Chaugory and whoever is also in charge of banana island for failing in the landscape development and not people who bought land to build their houses. They corrected their mistake with Eko Atlantic, buh right now. Eko Atlantic is too costly for even the very rich to develop.
On a different note, did you know some plots in Eko Atlantic are actually cheaper per sq meter than Banana Island?

I don't get it, is it the billionaires that are meant to develop the place? Or the government and the developers. Meanwhile, asides the fences and in undeveloped areas, that place ain't as bad as you're painting it to be.
The first image is the part developed by Lebanese. The second is the part developed by Nigerians. See the difference?

New York is divided into like 7, 9? boroughs...

Chicago pizza is deep dish, and better.

A bodega is basically a corner store, a convenience store.

Why would I lie about visiting Manhattan and finding it dirtyhuh

Speaking of smooth brains: I didn’t compare New York to Lagos originally. I compared people’s reaction to their city being insulted. You didn’t comprehend the simple text I wrote and started making one to own comparisons which I said was not proper. But I did call it a lie that the best place in Lagos is worse than the worse place in New York. It’s still a lie
I understand that people will be defensive of criticisms towards a city they over-identify with. But that's the stagnation mentality I'm trying to break. Do you realize Lagos is considered the second most unlivable city in the world? The only city worse is war-torn Damascus Syria. Things need to change.

I’ve been to both Lagos and NY... even though I only visited Manhattan there were areas that were quite dirty and not better looking than when I visited some parts of Victoria Island.

You are showing a photo of aerial footage rather than your personal account so I’m guessing your answer is no, you haven’t been to the worst parts of New York to compare.... Any place can look good from aerial footage. Even Lagos.
I live in the U.S. and visit New York all the time. You, like most Nigerians, are completely delusional. I can't even argue with someone who would compare New York to Lagos. Your brain is completely smooth.

Tell me the street in Manhattan that is comparable to Lagos. I've been throughout the city. Also, Manhattan is the the most developed part of New York. The Bronx is the poorest borough. Do you know what a borough is? Do you know what a bodega is? Do you know what ethnicity lives in Washington Heights? Do you know what a brownstone is? Do you know the difference between New York pizza and Chicago pizza?

Prove you have been to New York. Because right now, you are talking nonsense.

Let's face the reality, many factors comes into play in the production industry.
lets compare Zambia to Nigria in terms of
Economic growth
Government policies & tax
Dollar exchange rate
Source of raw materials
Market competivenes
Manpower & Technology
Security, Power etc.
A company that has its factory in two different country ( lets say Nigeria & Benin Republic) will not sell a particular product the same price in both country even if they are neighbors.
Note; the value of the country local currency plays a major role that's were inflation comes into play.
When people ask me why I don't invest in Nigeria, remember this thread and responses like this. Nigerians are addicted to stagnation and justify their own demise -- only a fool would put his hard earned capital into a nation of monkeys like this.

Cement prices around the world range from $3 to $6 while Dangote is selling for the equivalent of $11 for a profit margin of 60% in Nigeria compared to an industry average profit margin of 5% to 12%. He is able to charge these high prices because of low competition -- he kicked out competitors by hoarding limestone resources and convincing the federal government to ban imports.

According to Rabiu of BUA Group, Nigeria's real cost of cement production is the lowest in the world. The high prices are because of price gouging and monopolistic behavior from Dangote.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has fined Lafarge Zambia Plc and Mpande Limestone Limited 10% of their annual turnovers for the year 2019 and another 10% of their 2020 annual turnovers for price fixing and division of markets. The Board, however, was lenient with Dangote Cement Zambia Limited, for having bribed cooperated with the Commission during investigations.

This was after an exhaustive investigation following the Commission’s observations of a sustained increase of cement prices from an average of K55 to K100 per 50Kg bag between July 2019 and January 2020. source: https://zambiareports.com/2021/03/31/78130/

Note: 55 Zambian Kwatcha = 1,150 naira. 100 Zambian Kwatcha = 2,000 naira. Meanwhile Dangote is selling cement for 4,000 - 4,500 in Nigeria. What will it take for you monkeys to do what is necessary and end this insanity? Dangote has become the biggest problem in Nigeria.

Well, Abuja does not resemble the second (bottom) photo and the development of Abuja appears to be as if her former design and current developers are rightly integrating nature. This automatically invalidates your view on how Africans envisage urban development integrated with nature.

And incidentally, the second (bottom) photo, I believe depicts Native structures among the Polynesians Melanesians or indigenous Indonesians - i may be wrong. In any case, far from what you indented, I quite like it. I can see how to evolve it into cities that would be way better than the Asian, nature-integrated, high-rise buildings above it (top photo).
It is a Papuan tree house. Aside from the point, I actually find it quite impressive too. Papuans are creative people.

I am just curious, how many visits have you made to the worst parts of New York? Or New York at all?

Anyway, my point since you missed it, was to push back against the idea that there is something inherently wrong with Black people or Nigerians to be defensive when their home is criticized.
I should be asking you that. Only a deeply ignorant person would compare anything in New York to Nigeria. The whole city as running water, electricity, highly sophisticated sewage and drainage. 24/7 subway service to any part of the city.

Grand Concourse, the Bronx -- poorest borough in New York. You can't even dream of development like this in Nigeria.

Setting aside current trends in urban development of which you appear oblivious evident in your ignorant comment - “what is it with Africans and trees? While other races are building unique architecture to beautify their environment, Africans are worried about trees. If you love trees so much, go live in the forest. That's were savages belong" - even the extreme example of a city amidst the “jungle” setting that you scorn would be more futuristic, pleasant, unique and beautifying of the environment of its inhabitants than any sky scraper cemented over city you could imagine.
I'm fully aware of environmentalist architectural trends. But that's not what you Africans are talking about. You like trees in the same sense a monkey likes trees ie glorifying underdevelopment and primative living.

The first pic is the Asian ideal of a "green city". The second pic is the African ideal.
